Miyawaki Forests created by NACONS

Miyawaki afforestation method is a method of 'rapid forest creation', developed by renowned Japanese botanist and ecologist Dr. Akira Miyawaki. NACONS has successfully executed such projects in Sangli district and elsewhere. Patches of dense tiny forests have grown at all projects sites within just 1 year, which consist of more than 40 species of indigenous trees. These biodiverse tiny forests support a lot of local wildlife including birds, butterflies, bees and small mammals. 🌳
'मियावाकी वनीकरण पद्धत' ही जगप्रसिद्ध जपानी वनस्पतीशास्त्रज्ञ आणि पर्यावरणतज्ज्ञ डॉ. अकिरा मियावाकी यांनी विकसित केलेली जलद वनीकरणाची लोकप्रिय पद्धत आहे. नेकॉन्स संस्थेने या पद्धतीचा अवलंब करून वनीकरणाचे असे चार प्रकल्प सांगली जिल्ह्यात आणि अन्य ठिकाणी यशस्वीपणे पूर्ण केले आहेत. या सर्व प्रकल्पांच्या ठिकाणी केवळ १ वर्षात घनदाट लघु-वनांचे छोटे पट्टे निर्माण झाले असून त्यात ४० हून अधिक स्थानिक प्रजातींची झाडे आहेत. जैवविविधतेने समृद्ध असलेल्या या छोट्या वनराईत अनेक जातीचे पक्षी, फुलपाखरे, मधमाशा, छोटे सस्तन प्राणी यांचा वावर आहे. 🌳

Government needs to be held accountable for massacre of thousands of trees along both sides of Pune Satara Kolhapur Nipani Gadhinglaj Amboli sections of NH66 carried out for purpose of providing extra lanes.
