No more hot nights! 12 Volt DC Roof Top AC unit for my Mission Overland Summit

- This is one of the mods that I have been on the fence about for a while now for my Mission Overland Summit Trailer. I have tried both the Zerobreeze Mark 2 and the EcoFlow Wave2, which both have not done the trick. So with my quest to have this trailer fully 4 season-able, I pulled the trigger on this roof top AC unit. This unit is powered by 12 volt DC which means that I can power this with my batteries or shore power. And after testing the unit in the garage (fan only), this unit really can move the air. Looking forward to testing this fully once the heat of the summer returns. Let me know if you have any questions below. Thank you for watching!

I contacted Velit multiple times to get instruction when installing my unit, because the instruction manual is a joke. They finally sent me a updated PDF of the manual which did help with info like torque specs for the hold down bolts.
Same issues with these instructions. 😩
Brad, I have a question. I contacted my Mission dealer to order the unit you purchased. They said Mission told them I would have to upgrade my WFCO unit. I know you swapped out your WFCO unit due to not recognizing lithium batteries. I was planning to run my ac unit using my battery bank. So I’m confused as to why I would have to change my WFCO to run the AC.
This is just a guess on my part…. The WFCO is a converter/charger, so it will provide DC power to charge your batteries and provide DC power for consumption. If they changed out the more recent trailers with a different WFCO, it might not produce enough DC power to keep up with the AC unit. The one that I changed out to has a slightly higher output, and is able to keep up with the AC unit’s needs as long as it is not on the highest/MAX setting (then it will draw from the batteries a little). Lastly, I contacted Mission Overland directly and did not do this through a dealer.
@@BradKoester Thank you for your reply. It was very helpful and you are correct in that the WFCO unit would need a higher output from 35amps to 40 amps. Thanks again.
can the ac run with the top popped up? How does it handle in the 95-100f temps?
Yes I run the AC with the top up with no issues. A few weeks ago we were traveling across the country and when we stopped in KS it was well over 100 F. It took it around 20 minutes to take it from over 100 to low 70s F. And it was able to maintain that for the remainder of the night.
How is it on power usage? I havent picked my summit up yet but its got the A/C and a 400aH batt
On the Eco setting it is around 15 amps.
What's the model number on that AC if you have it?
