Then i kept looking and wanting to not struggle on grassy areas down to to the Bean square 2 off grid trailer and this one! Your changes were so great. So you mentioned the overhead rope lighting, however, it looked like a two tier lighting on the roof? Whats the second type of lighting at the very top?Im use to staying off grid for at least two months at a time before needing anything, solar, poiwer 800 watts / lithium600-800, and a goal zero 3000 x (just in case:)50 of bigger ICECO cooler. Your modifications actually made that penthouse comfortable to my standards:)
The lights on the top were just something that I found on Amazon that had USB power. This way I can even use a battery pack as well as the trailer’s batteries. Nothing special, just a lot less power hungry ( and much easier on the eyes ).
Hey man, great video. I gotta ask, what are the locks you put on the door? I haven't seen them in any of your other videos. I saw a useful upgrade recently from @projectbasecamp on YT where he added a water level gauge. Might want to look into that, too. Yall giving me too many projects.
The locks are a recent addition. They are from RV Lock and are a direct replacement. I saw the water gauge on @projectbasecamp, it is on my short list. 😀
Yup great video. Hope you make it to the 1k mark soon. BTW, watched @projectbasecamp and almost fell out of my chair when saw dust appeared when he drilled the 3in hole. I was under the impression our trailers were 100% wood free. I guess the floor board still is wood.
@@DaddyBusAdventures Same here! I thought it was an aluminum floor. I guess that would have been too cold and insulating it would have added a few inches and got it too close to the standard garage door height?

Yes this AC can be used while the roof is up. And it has no problem keeping it cool inside while it is over 100 F outside. I have been happy with how it performs.
I did look at Off Grid as well. As you can guess, I went with Mission Overland. Main reasons were being able to stand inside and still being able to be fit into my garage. I’m still happy with my decision and would do the same thing again.
@@BradKoester that's why i like the Mission as well. Great quality over all and you get to stand up. I like the bigger camper with the shower but i doubt the Jeep would perform well towing. I have not yet seen these campers in person.
The bigger one with the indoor shower would be too much for my Wrangler and almost max for the Gladiator. I have used the outdoor shower many times on mine and it is great ( in the warmer months ). I have had mine all over the country from sea level to over 11,000 ft up with several thousand miles. Honestly love the trailer.

Curious to know if there would be room for a big dog at the front of the bed? We’ve been looking at this trailer quite a bit as it’s a great size. My wife is just concerned about the dog space because don’t want to want the dog on our bed.
I have a 50 lb Husky/German Shepherd and she fits in the bed with me. Not sure if two adults and a larger dog would be comfortable in the bed. Depending on how big your dog is, they might be able to lay on the floor by the door.
I have 65lb Border Colliee-Pyrenese mix - pretty good size. She generally shares the bed with me (when it’s just the two of us) but she ducks down and sleeps underneath (in the table hole) when it thunders! 😉 And i don’t trip on her in the night when I exit to heed nature’s call.
I have yet to hit my head when closing the door. The suction cup handle really helps with closing it. Now, I have hit my head a few times when walking by it outside.
Yep, understand. But to be fair, I really only have hit my head when wearing a hat as it blocks some of my vision. Also really only happened early on when I was still getting used to the trailer. Now the shape of the door really comes in handy when it is raining or snowing. It provides coverage and really helps keeping you protected from the elements when the awning is not deployed.
Have you had any issues with the Truma Combi? Mine just died at 14months of operation. It looks like the control board on the combi itself is dead as nothing on it lighs up. 12V source is confirmed and the 10A fuse is also working. CP panel cannot establish a connection getting error 255. Looks like I will need to find a local dealer in CA that is authorized to work on this. Truma is a closed network and don't seem to allow end-users to attempt repairs - finding parts also very difficult.
Knocking on wood, my combi is still going strong. I have heard of that error before and believe that it is a control board replacement to fix that. Please let me know the outcome.
i have two trumas before and the first unit had issues like you mentioned, after checking the wiring and spacing it was resolved, nearly no problems (that was the first release model) now the second one ZERO concerns!
My Combi crapped put on my last trip and is currently in for replacement under the Truma warranty. Go figure…. We had 100F weather on the way to CO and our first night was in the 30s and raining. And the heat worked for about 5 minutes before giving us an error. I had an electric blanket with us and that did the trick.
@@BradKoester So really want to spare the experience I had with Mission Overland, lets just say it was not stellar. Knowing well, or should I say, assuming that 14 months into owning the trailer I had little hope that it would have been covered under warranty - didn't know about the extra 12months you were able to take advantage off. Anyway the Chinese version as I mentioned in your other video was a breeze to install and it worked. Got an extra control board as spare and everything really is available directly from the manufacturer. The correspondence with them has been excellent, including after sales support for a couple of minor issues.

Do you ever hit your head on the door when it’s open and with the shape of the door how easy is it to close when you’re inside?
