  • Follow the lean journey of a growing donut shop as it troubleshoots the adoption of lean manufacturing tools and principles.
    EPISODE 11 SUMMARY
Daniel realized that the demanding nature of the restaurant industry didn't allow for a project approach to 5S. It's not realistic to think that 5S can be done perfectly the first time. It's a journey, and one that never ends!
    ABOUT THE LEAN DONUT SHOP
The Lean Donut Shop is a real-life company (aka The Donut Theory, thedonuttheory...) that was birthed in 2020 in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. Starting in a home kitchen, the business took off! It grew into a temporary shared commercial kitchen and a 1947 Ford Half Ton mobile donut truck, and later into a brick-and-mortar storefront in the Fall of 2021.

Can you not put a bell or small alarm on you front door to know when someone comes in the door?

Tell me you haven’t worked a shift by yourself without telling me you haven’t worked a shift by yourself. The larger point is that you constantly get interrupted.
