This kinda feels like a slap in the face considering half of these tools are not available to the vast majority of indie artists...

    • @Kanemo89
      @Kanemo89 16 дней назад +5

And why is that ? You know labels and big companies like Sony music control Spotify biggest playlists and more and they get prioritized over the independent artists.

    • @ChristopheFilippi

@@Kanemo89 Yea playlists are a lost cause imo. And those other tools to grow your fanbase only become available once your fanbase has grown 😂 "Catch 22". Edit: to be fair I don't blame Spotify, it's the same everywhere else, and actually worse with e.g. Apple Music (who pay more, yes, but seem to have zero care for indie artists).

Why would you create a promo video for Spotify features that aren't available to a large majority of artists?
Countdown Page aren't available to most artists
Playlist Pitching rarely if ever yields a playlist placement for most artists
Marquee requires a high amount of funding to see any real effect
Clips feature isn't available to most artists
Merch feature isn't available to artists that don't use Shopify
Thanks for Canvas and Artist Pick, I guess...

Its great to see so many artists publicly show their concerns about categories that don't work on Spotify 😂

Spotify, why do you remove songs for "fake streams" but you keep the playlists open? We can't even control what playlists ppl add us to. Please consider thinking through this more.

If you're going to put stream thresholds in place in order to get paid, then the least you can do is give us the tools to drive more engagement. 1) 15 months after it was announced, Clips STILL aren't available in Canada or Ireland, the places where I have artists and I joined the waitlist after it was announced in March 2023; 2) Same for Countdown Pages; 3) Marquee is not available for Irish artists, and despite me being in Canada (where it is available) I can't access it for this artist It's very frustrating to see these types of videos when I can't access the tools.

Spotify definitely has many issues you already mentioned the Question is what they offer has it ever worked?😂

Spotify treats many independent artist in a different way than mainstream artist some have multiple releases on the same day on Release Radar 😂

Well a lot of these features like Marquee or Clips aren't even available in Switzerland and i've been averaging around 50k monthly listeners for some time now. :(

Hey there, Spotify Against Artists. Maybe you should go back to paying us for every stream you stream using our music on your service. I'm a small artist and this summer I will do my part and cancel my Spotify subscription (I was an early adopter, handing out invites), and start using RUclips Music instead. Where do you think I will point my listeners from now on? Morons.

I've Noticed an uptick in Main Stream artist using You Tube Spotify definitely has issues with independent artist & streams. It's like they let mainstream artist make all the money & independent artist not only get 4 cents a stream they dont have all these categories working😂 they need a restructuring

How come only certain artists get on playlists, I know an artist that used to get on playlists now no longer has got on any editorials and they have quality music and a decent amount of streams. 70k per song. It feels rigged. Like everything else. Why are yo charging more to customers but paying less to artists?

This is cool and all, but half of it you can't do unless you've been accepted into the program, so not all that helpful for most people.
