no artists work has grabbed me so quickly and deeply as lizzy’s. everything she touches is gold & i love her bad
quickly and deeply is key here
lizzy's been my absolute favorite artist for the past two years. it's magical to see her making her own, special place in the music industry. it's like it's been waiting for her all along. i'm so proud.
Lizzy McAlpine: "I make music that is my deepest thoughts and fears and worries"
Also Lizzy McAlpine: "I spilled mac&cheese on my pants"
She's so honest for talking about something so deep 😔✊
Not every line has to be deep lmao it’s a real detail from a memory she’s looking back on that relates to the story the song is trying to tell😭
@@VanessaKilpatrick pst
It's a joke
@@zechariahdavid5199 oh haha sorry I got confused since it wasn’t that funny
@@VanessaKilpatrick ohh sorry unfortunately you don't have a sense of humor! That's all
Good luck to all of us up and coming artists ❤, let’s do what we love
Music and writing 🖤🖤🖤🖤
Great comment. Big w

💛
Been under her spell since 2019. I think it’s a rare thing when an artist makes you feel like they are writing about your life. She adds melody to life and it makes you feel like music is all we were ever meant to be here for.
Lizzy's music is like, one day she cuts my heart in half and the next day she stitches it together again. She has a gift of really understanding feelings, I think. So good to see her rise.
five seconds flat had so much personality that I kinda fell in love with it, with its lyrics, with its silences, with its quirks. I knew I'd love it since she posted a piece of doomsday in ig
fully crying over this. i’m so proud of her
Fr ,I remember following her when she had like less than 10k followers on IG back in late 2018 ,I knew from the beginning that she was gonna blow up ,it’s impossible not to think that when you see and hear someone like her not only sing ,bc she’s a great singer but her lyrics and ideas ,song Melodies and chord choices are just pure art
Sameeee girl!!
I have loved Lizzy for years. Her songs feel like they were taken from the pages in my journals. I am simultaneously thrilled to see her getting the recognition she deserves and CRUSHED that she is no longer my secret. She feels so intimate to me and my heart, I just love her and will support her forever.
Lovely video, good for her, but completely irrelevant to the title of the question. This is clickbait. You should have titled this Artist Bio: Lizzy McAlpine or something.
ceilings is a relatively easy song to learn and sing, but i just cant sing it well. i love to express that kind of feeling and vibe the original singer was trying to express. for this song i just cant. everything about her songs and her voice are something else.
still remember listening to her songs on SoundCloud, falling in love with Apple Pie and All My Ghosts, and then slowly transitioning to spotify and even buying her vinyls
so proud of where she is right now and where she will be in the near future
SAMEEEE
The thing that I love about her music most is her lyrics. Obviously the production is incredible but the way she writes her songs are just unlike anything I’ve ever heard. It’s like her music is a journal of everything I’ve wanted to say but didn’t have the words to
i really hope she makes it to superstardom. she deserves it. she has so much talent
i often wonder if that’s what they really want, like i think you can’t be a step or 2 under that and still be great financially without all the MAJOR attention. you carve out an amazing fan base who you connect with and be set. once they go mainstream all the attention would seem super overwhelming. not disagreeing with you just offering that point of view cause i think about it a lot
@@wh1skeybud i agree with that as well! definitely wouldn’t blame anybody who would rather not be in the major spotlight like that. i guess i should’ve said that i hope people realize how talented she is
@@j.a.rivera yea thanks for not taking that the wrong way like i was arguing lol yes she’s super freaking talented and she does deserve recognition for it 🙌🏽
bruh this series is just promo disguised as a "marketing tutorial" lol clickbait af. we see right thru yall. all spotify wants is for us to think they are the end all be all for music marketing
the tutorial is pretty obvious be young pretty and hot break up with your boyfriend move to London lol

I literally love her so much! I am going to one of her shows on her 'Older' tour!
Beautifully worded. If you’re an artist reading this I hope you know that there are people waiting to hear/see your creativity.
i’ve been listening to lizzy for 2 years now and she never fails to amaze me, i love her
glad for her but literally 0% info how she made it apart from having her music placed on big playlists 😂
Loved spotting Laufey at 1:07
I didn’t know about Lizzie until she toured with Dodie, and I refuse to go to a concert that I can’t sing along with, so I sat down to listen to Lizzie’s stuff and just fell in love with how her songs made me feel. She’s such a fantastic writer, and I love the quality of her voice.
now her monthly listeners are 16.7 million
the growth in just the past month is mind-blowing.
i also learned Lizzy via the 'you ruined the 1975' song. afterwards I followed her and now have seen her twice live and listen to the music non stop. Thank you for your amazing music Lizzy!
Oh god I cried so much when she said there is only one of you. Hit my imposter syndrome so hard
Step 1: Be an attractive female.
You know its true
I love this girl’s music so much
when i was in love 2 years ago, her songs made me feel so in love. then when i got my heart broken last year, she let me feel the emotions i was feeling through her songs. i was listening to give me a minute 24/7 ;-; her songs seriously speak to my soul and mends it, i love her so much. i dream of meeting her at her concert in the future
this is so lovely - happy to see all the success Lizzy has seen
Where in this video does she explain how she made it?
Loved so many singers over the years, but her music is honestly something else
Been listening to her for a year now and when I got to know that her song 'ceilings' (also my favourite) was an ongoing trend I was beyond proud and happy for her. She's so talented so glad people are getting to know her music more and more . Please listen to more of her albums other than 'five seconds flat' like 'give me a minute 'etc
my newest obsession! Her most recent album is absolutely amazing! produced very very well
I knew she’s gonna make it 😍😍❤️❤️ here since the soundcloud voice memos ✨✨✨ she’s our generation’s gem
been listening to her since 2020 ❤ love the growth !! so proud of her ❤
I love every song you write, Lizzy! Thank you for sharing your talent with us. You are a gem!
When we started out in the early 90s, it was SO (expletive) challenging to get your music out there. Spotify and the internet have changed the game 1,000,000 %. The hustle from back then remains the same as now in 2023; but, the field is WIDE OPEN to any artist who's willing to work EVERYDAY on their art. I wish all of the opportunities for global exposure were around back then as they are today. Artists today are so lucky. They just don't all realize it. Keep grinding! Enjoy the ride. - Manny of The Ticking Clocks
Lizzy is awesome! Saw her live last year in Brooklyn, she's truly a force to be reckoned with.
been listening to lizzy for years. im so proud of her. not my little secret anymore
Beautiful video. Please do Dodie's interview next ❤️❤️
i'm so proud of you lizzy! you deserve the world and more
funny, she’s the opposite of jacob collier when it comes to how she likes to use space
Omggg when laufey appears I love them both 🥹
If you are yourself an artist you know she is absolute gold and unique
The biggest thing that distinguishes Lizzy is that she is herself, and that's something that comes across seamlessly in her music, she's raw and unapologetic and that's what music really is.
Top 0.5% listener three years running 🙋🏻♀️ obsessed.
five seconds flat is a beautiful album
My daughter found Lizzy online before the first album, she shared her songs and we just loved her work from the beginning. It's so satisfying to see that she has 'made it' and that real music and talent can ultimately still shine through the seemingly unnecessary layers that stifle true talent in the music industry. Congrats and thanks for the music Lizzy 🙏😎
Her music gives me hope that I can make my own, truly authentic, singer-songwriter music in 2023 and still have a shot at becoming successful. I no longer have to ask myself if I can make it without giving in to the latest music trends. Thanks for reminding us that it's possible, Lizzy.
Playing the space is the very thing that Miles Davis used to preach. You go, gurl!
I'M LITERALLY OBSESSED WITH HER.
i'm sooo happy for you Lizzy! you are sooo special! me and my 8 years old son are the biggest hungarian fan of yours! almost 2 years now... thank you to be exist! 💕
Amazing, i found out about her in Titkok. Good for her.🖤🖤🖤
Lizzy, you're incredible !!
My best friend recommended to hear Lizzy and I’ve been hooked ever since. You’re such an inspiration!
now her monthly listeners are coming in close to 20 milion
Absolutely hope she can stay true to herself as she continues making music. Go Lizzy!
i’m in love with her i’m so proud
The video does not give any answers to how she actually "made it".
A couple years ago one of Lizzy’s videos popped up on my RUclips feed as I was listening to younger female artists. I was smitten with Daneliya Tuleshova’s voice after seeing her on various talent shows and she is a phenomenal talent. But hearing Lizzy’s voice on that first video absolutely blew my mind. Her voice, lyrics, and art are responsible for creating the most beautiful musical experience I’ve ever had. I’ve been obsessed with her music since that first day. There is no one like her. Lizzy is the superstar who sneaks up on you with her quiet style, incomparably beautiful vocals and brilliantly evocative lyrics. Yeah, I absolutely love her.
My sister and I were there when you were smaller
I'l never understand. She's as banal as it gets.
ngl she's so dope
I wish I can talk Abt the music of mine that I hate comfortably like how she does but even if I try I always feel the trauma coming that I'm gonna get busted if I talk Abt this one song of mine tht I hate cuz a lot of the ppl in my state r sensitive
great, a new spotify star..
It is so awesome to see you growing so much!
Love you, Lizzy! you're the best! Do more colabs with Jacob, Tiny Habits and others... I like you and your music it's most intimately beautiful form..
Love from Swaziland ❤❤
Really inspiring, I will definitely work hard like her to be a successful artist. Thank you Spotify for Artist for bringing this to my notice.
I'm so happy for her, she's a great artist
Step 1: Be massively talented
Would have been nice if her “fans” hadn’t bullied her out of opening for John Mayer… She would have been playing at Madison Square Garden this week.
spotify for artists, thank you for this.
Did anybody else find her after her collaboration with Jacob Collier and James Mayer?
I’m new to Lizzy, please give recs on your favorite tracks from her!!
love you Lizzy 🫶
Who else recognized Laufey in minute 1:07? :D
So inspiring! 💛

I find Lizzy's speaking voice as beautiful as her singing voice...
