It's just a terrible mechanic that doesn't need to be and shouldn't be in the game. You should actually have to interact with your ship in different ways to ensure you're getting to your destination as fast as possible.
@@Xoilen sails open and angles if they were rowing then stamina would at least make sense but if they made it where if you try and shoot too fast or raise and lower sails to often you can overwork the crew depending on the size and skill of the crew etc

I think the game is fine to hop in and go fk ppl up with your buddies and not be too invested. I like the different cannons you can place on certain parts of the ship gives you different Strats only gripe so far is I think the turning of the ships is too fast could be turned down a little but I've been having fun 5 hrs in

Why are they still developing the game? Because all the seasonal content adds in content that was cut from launch in order to be released as “new” seasonal content. All the big stuff like the new ships, weapons, was just stuff that was cut so it doesn’t cost them much to bring it in again. Season 4 will add the rest of the map they cut out and call it a “brand new” area. Along with season 4 bringing large ships which were shown to us back in the original reveal of the game
I like the game a lot. And people are playing. It’s definitely a personal preference game and they are definitely listening to the community and fixing it slowly. It’s not what yall wanted but some people do enjoy this game and play it daily.

heres an idea, FIX THE DAMN GAME, remove stamina, add more variety of ships, add more zones, add large ship types, add a better boarding system even a menu with RNG would be funner

The main problem is the overall playerbase in video gaming nowadays. They want everything fast, they want everything to be easy, they don't know how to think and they not invest time in a game and they don't know how to enjoy a game either. They just want to watch "content creators" (who actually don't know either how to play a game sometimes), copy them, play it for 4 hours and then blame every problem on the game studios. I'm playing the game 2 months now and I'm a big pirate theme fan. I have to say as an older video gamer (36yo) it is very nice and unique in its own way. If i want i can just sail with half sails for hours and admire the views (65" 4k+Dolby Vision), or i can join into bigger battles taking down merchants, plunder big forts or fight with sea monsters. Also only cosmetic items can be purchased for real money. So if you need a specific a gun you have to go and gather the resources for it. You need a bigger boat, ok, resources again, find them, steal them, then built it. Or you need a special legendary gun which can be only purchased with pieces of eights and sovereigns? Than go and establish your very own smuggling empire which generates both resources for you. But you have to upgrade them, build more ships to supply them and bring the pieces of eights back. There are a lot of things to do as you reach Kingpin status and Level 6 with your ship. Many players checks the game and ahhh small boat, no constant pvp, i need to invest more than 50 hours to be someone, i can't purchase anything with daddy's money, ok i leave... Skull and Bones is exactly that game which will shine after 2 or 3 years, but it will be always hard to start it and maintain your empire. This game is not about PVP as many content creators thought and said before. This is about to be the biggest Kingpin on the East Indian sea. (Btw, maybe eagle eyed players saw it already. One third of the map (North, North-West) is locked by a permanent white fog of war and is different than the map boundary in other places. That part of the map will be opened later on during the game and that territory is controlled by the British Merchants which we encounter during the intro/tutorial of the game. So there are 3 big factions in the game not 2 and the actual map is even bigger as well. But hey-ho... Many of these parts of the game will be never experienced by many players because they are just too lazy. This is a niche game for a niche audience.)

The only way to save the game is two things, EXPAND THE MAP AND MAKE IT POSSIBE TO LAND ON ANY ISLAND. The latter is so important in any pirate game, also enables one to build on a island you chose and to fortify it. These islands are open to attack by any AI was fortified. To make things interesting you can get your mates to gang up and take an island or special ones to get good loot. Without it the updates i have mentioned Skull and bones sucks. Its ok to jump in now and then but other than, its not got longevity.
It hurts to see you never using the brace, lol. Also there are hotkeys for repair and stamina food, etc. Tbh I don't see the reasoning for the extent of the hate for this game. Sure, it's not "great", and certainly not AAAA, but it feels like Sea of Thieves back when it launched: Greatly lacking, but has potential.

I never played any AC after 3 so idk the feeling for Black Flag players. I want to love this game but it is not Sea of Thieves... Sea of Thieves has all the content for a beautiful pirate game everyone wants....but what's the point when all you do is get gold for just cosmetics... Idk how the same company that made AC Black Flag managed to make this steaming pile of garbage. We wanted all the pirate mechanics of black flag, aside from the ship boarding, without all the assassins' stuff, but what we got was a sailing simulator they tried to call a pirate game with no sword or gun fights. Am i the only one who was confused about the first season where one of those small ships that poison you were able to one-shot you despite being max level and having the best possible hull armor and weapons? Or when you would just be leaving Sainte Annes and a high-level Rogue pirate ship would just sink you right on the spot. Like its the beginning area and within a matter of seconds, your ship is at the bottom of the ocean. The entire game is a grindfest. Even the "end-game" content is a grind fest. The missions are just the same copy and pasted missions with new names. Go here and sink this ship and collect this material, go here and take over this fort, go find this on this island, go talk to so and so, etc. And who can forget how busted the PvP events are. A player can simply fast travel to where the event is happening and can drop the item that needs to be delievered, heal up, and then pick it back up and continue sailing towards the drop off point. The one thing this game has going for it is it just looks pretty.

Give it a go :) Ive got over 50 hours in and I still have allot to do :) ( I just wish some ''legdandary'' materials would show up more in boss fights instead of buying them with pieces of eight)
Played the free trial and it really sucked, the gameplay loop was way too repetetive and even if it wasnt I wouldnt get the game out of principle of them being like "quadruple A" game and not making the game the community asked for "Assassins Creed Black Flag remastered, remake, sequel or standalone but same type of game".
Yes correct. There is at least 17-20 players online in my session alone when I'm playing every night. At Level 12 at the moment with Brigantine. I had to take down the PVP flag though. Most Level 13 players running 4xDardanelles bombards and just bullying everyone. If i encounter any of these guys i just log out and back in. Another full lobby and normal players. I try to avoid every lobby where there is at least 1 player with over 800k XP. I'm on 250k.

No it's not first person. Watch the video... You can select different camera angles. Also when you're on land and exploring big ports or outpost the camera is 3rd person.

In S&B, your ship has a stamina bar and apparently gets tired when it runs out. Does that answer your question?
