I’ll be honest I enjoy the game but I feel like I’m spending more time doing this than playing with my friends. It feels more profitable to play solo and it just isn’t as fun. They really need to add other ways to get pieces of 8 with friends. I know there is like 1 I believe but I feel like an MMO should incentivize playing with friends. Not saying they shouldn’t add solo methods as well but they need better ways to play end game with friends
💯 This end game design is totally anti-multiplayer...Really sad to see. It just feels like I am mindlessly sailing around collecting. It more like work than anything else. I almost just rewatched the entire breaking bad series on the side during my play through of skull and bones. I hope they launch modes overall
once this game become a job, I lost interest, having to manage every factory, deliver material to every factory, upgrade every factory, now I just play it for shits and giggles, once I'm done with season pass, ill wait till next season, maybe they will automate the whole thing with fleet management.

Do Africa before East Indies, level up Harufu to 10 first and spend everything else on the first and final page of the upgrades. Level up the closest one to St Anne to 10 as well (cant remember the name right now) and then get everything up slowly. East Indies is not necessary to have great results. This advice comes from a top 10 leaderboard player. Do wagers in groups so they always succeed, collect 2-3 full supplies and then start the wager. Dude did one with 450k Po8 and got 900k in return. That's the only correct way for now until Ubisoft decides to change it all up
I actually think only up to 9 is best. If you do the math upgrading to 10 is less efficient for gold production and max storage per Po8 spent. I would start upgrading one of the other top cities before going to 10. Whether africa is better or not I have heard conflicting opinions. I'm sure either will work as long as you focus the main producers. Crazy to hear a 900k PO8!! 🤯
Not everyone can do wagers in groups though, its ok for those that can do that its easier for them to get there 900k but for alot solo players that just isnt an option
Great guide! Many of us have wasted so much time and po8 the wrong way. I know many hate the grind but with the new hot fix allowing you to pirate along the way it makes it more enjoyable and seeing over 50k per run is really rewarding now. I never do helm wagers, I call those "the helm always wins" just not worth it unless you got good pvp friends to back you up 👍

I took 110000 off off 4 players yesterday. It was me, a brig, who was in the helm event, and my homie in the Barque healing me. He wasn't in the event, so he couldn't get damaged by anyone. It was completely broken.
I never did the helm wager. It’ll glitch if you have maps when you take the wager; it won’t double your pieces of eight. I was rank 38 in the leaderboards and climbing about five ranks per day up until they fucked the game up with the plague ships. They know they messed-up because they released an emergency patch mid-week to change the ships from spawning more frequently and acting more aggressively when you have pieces of eight on you, to spawning less frequently, but are levelled based on the number of coins you have. It ruined it for me because by the time I had one destroyed, another would spawn. You can harvest bananas while being directly attacked, but don’t dare think about interacting with your manufactory when a ship has spotted you from a mile away through two mountain ranges.
Ya it was really frustrating when the patch dropped...That's when I decided to start focusing on content instead of playing. Luckily they patched it again and we can now interact with the cities. feels way better and make it feel like we are actually pirates.

Currently 4/5 of the way through getting all my manufacturies to level 10. If you want to guarantee a successful wager albeit less fun, (Arguably defeats the purpose of it) you could have a low level friend or an alt account join in a low average rank world and invite you to it and you can be left alone to do the wager. Also as above you can do your full collect on any world then join your low rank friends world after collecting everything then trigger the wager by sitting at your last collection point.
@@Polemos_Action Even with "exploiting" the easier option on a low rank world it's virtually impossible to catch up to the people who have been doing it since before season 1 drop unfortunately, Id love to try for top 10 but it's so far out of reach
yeah I lost interest just knowing all the exploits some have done to take advantage on the increase of their Po8. It just isn't worth trying to make top leaderboard especially for a solo player. @@Polemos_Action
Also worth noting: if you pick up the supply deals and wait an hour, when you turn them in to the outpost guy, you can pick up the next set and it should be for the same guy. 2 for 1
only idiots advocate completing supply deals as its a waste of valuable resources. this is a way to eat up mats just like factory boosting for minimal returns.

The more I look at the economy (getting materials, converting into gold teir, selling for silver, funding level 10 locations (more silver if you use better production rates), and using materials to boost production) the more I feel like it is not ballanced and you will run out of resources/silver.
Do you have the first book(smuggler operations finished? You will get over 1000 helm material which will then be roughly 500-750 high tier helm goods- will be worth 125,000 - 187,500 silver per hour. You can maintain a big empire if you do that consistently
One correction. U don't need to do the main story to unlock Kingpin. U get kingpin unlocked by your pirate infamy. I had red isle unlocked and was already collecting pieces of 8 from them before finishing scurlocks' main story. It's a good idea to do them, though. You can sell late game items to the main story npcs for a lot of silver and is my main way of getting silver end game
Ya thanks for sharing. I heard that it may have been the reason some were getting stuck with the bug of not being able to do the helm quests. But I think that has been disproven also. And ya the high tier helm goods are key to keeping the empire alive.
Very informative the only thing i gotta say is you dont have to fight the rogues or pest's lackeys when picking up your po8. They will stop following you if ya out run them usually pretty quickly
Fastest way to get pieces of eight is to have 5 friends on. Collect your pieces of eight, get a helm wager, alert your friends that you have one before you accept it. When the friends are ready, join it and have all your friends join it. 6 players max can play the helm wager. That’s it. Maxed everything to level 10, you’ll get over 300,000+ coins in a run. Doubling to 600,000+. Only other thing to say is if your friends are excellent or willing to trade for silver, during the helm wager you can jettison the chest and have a friend who’s been collecting pick it up. His coins are added. Then he jettisons the chest. Now you have his coins and your coins at double helm wager. I think a solid value is 10 silver per piece of 8. If he gives you 4,000 pieces of 8, you can trade him 40,000 silver
Ya heard of a couple million piece wagers done this way. I am curious why silver is so important though? Why do people trade for it. I feel its basically unlimited with helm goods traded in
@@Polemos_Action when you have all level 10 manufactories, it costs north of 2.6 million silver to keep them up and running. So my suggestion of paying 10 silver per piece of eight is a very fare offer. 300,000 Poe for 3,000,000 silver. Paying him for what he gives you and his effort collecting it for the last hour and a half. He can fund them once they are empty. Not to mention if your on a double helm wager, that 300,000 is now 600,000 poe’s. Edit: realize I didn’t quite answer your question. I’ve been struggling to get the rum/ opium/ snuff / gin and sell at this point to fund 76 maxed manufactories. So if I gave it away, I’d be even more at a negative when it comes to silver management. It would be fair if you had the silver to cover the cost to fund manufactories, you should pay into it if someone is giving up their time to provide it.
Very nice and informative guide, thank you. The major problem in the game is no content. For example it's obvious we can never catch up with old players, so I don't give a s**t about it. I'm just try to enjoy the game, exploring, help some players along the run. But still nothing to do. I could have full empire, but what then? Shall I be just mindless bot that collect the PO8 all day or just waste my time sailing around... But with every game I play, the moment game becomes a job I stop playing it. I have two jobs already in real life, game should be only for fun and steam out, period. And they had 10 years to make it, very lame and disappointing.

They will add trough the multiple passes like now. But for you playes that have 999...999 silver and PO8 even that would not do. That's what I'm frustrated mostly. You have all unlocked, max silver and PO8 and nothing to spend on. So why running around and spend time if there is no purpose of it.
All I can say is JEEZE!!!! I've only been playing a few weeks, and already found the game quite intimidating, but after watching this video, I realize I haven't even scratched the surface. I knew the map was massive, and I have sailed around to much of it, and gotten into areas that I clearly wasn't a high enough level to be in. I only recently got my ship up to an 8, and there are NO upgrades on it yet. I have my PVP flag set to off, but the NPCs are aggressive enough that I frequently get irritated with them. However, I will say thank you for the detailed look at what lies ahead if I continue playing this game. I got it during a free to play weekend, and bought it before I realized I had to have the damn PS+ membership, which I had intentionally avoided for years, but as there was no REFUND option for the game, I went ahead and bought the annual PS+ so I could continue playing this game. Obviously, I have MUCH to learn to get the most out of it, but this was all great information. Thanks.
I did helm wager 4 times, and each time it didn’t give me the bonus, im never doing it again, it’s too hectic for hack squat. Another thing, if you try to take a stack of something out of storage, and it doesn’t switch over to your ship, don’t try to do it again, once you relog, that stack is auto deleted by the game. Plague hunters are easy to deal with, as long as they didn’t spawn at the port you needed, although they made it to where you can collect while under attack now. What I did was just knock out their sails then go around an island or land mass, 5 seconds later they’ll de-agro and leave.
Ya the helm wager is rough...can't do it again. Great tip! I know I lost some gold skull rum once before. Ya this new patch will make it better and the pests shouldn't be a big deal anymore.
Currently at top 5000 this week I have only 3 main manufactories in Africa I collect from Harufu (level 9) and the other 2 with the most trade routes (level 8) I can play the game freely and don’t have to worry about constantly collecting po8
Its good information but typically I would disagree. You’re gonna find much better results going straight from red isle to Africa and immediately going for maxing harufu than upgrading every single port. Once harufu and one of the others is maxed (i went for jiwe originally) go for helm upgrades. Afterwards start maxing all the top 5 African ports. Helm upgrades again for the Africa page. Then go wild. Currently im working on my 5th lv 10 with both pages mentioned above maxed, and can easily get 80k a day (1 double and 2 normal runs) without spending my life grinding away coins.
Agree with this. I basically fast travel to great ukuta in the bottom left of the map then go along the coast up to Jiwe, loop round and collect jiwe weaver, head down to shijavu and work my way to sitrana, lamba weaver down that coast until the tsifo lumberyard and then straight hop over to st anne. 17 stop - 30 min run(ish). With all the main stops at rank 10 (top 5 with the most trade routes on that journey) and then everything else around 7+, i can get over 20k per run when everything is mostly full/full. I only do it around once a day now due to work, maybe twice.. and spend a little bit of time getting mats for funding/silver grind. If i'm not working i'll maybe do some supply runs to speed things up.
Ya don't get me wrong that is a solid route but for like 5 mins of sailing you can collect almost 10k starting at sunny capital hitting sangdad and the two other along the way to telok. For people who are trying to reduce the amount of uber eats pirate 2.0 this is the most efficient process. thanks for the insights on your pathing
thats incorrect. the desk upgrades are the foundation of your factories the earlier you max the desk the better off you will be in the long run. ive tutored many on this and they see the immediate benefit.

You can have a friend hang out of the pvp event and keep you healed. Works great on snow. They truly did not think about pvp in this game and what is fair.

Lets get real here. The sheer amount of Po8 and time just to get out of stage 1 is absolutely mind numbing. The end game economy system in this game is probably the worst I have seen. I really wish the video would have actually told you how many Po8 you need to get through each stage. This end game grind is discouraging and soul crushing. Let's face it, the casual gamer is not giving a crap about the leaderboard. Example, I just want to get some of the better weapons and armor to outfit my ship(s) with. okay how do i get that...oh i need sovereigns, to get the crap load of sovereigns you need a crap load of Po8, to make a crap load of Po8 you need to first collect a crap load of Po8, etc. etc. I have been in end game for a while now and only have collected about 5900 Po8 total because it is so time consuming and disheartening that it becomes very difficult for the casual gamer to press play every day to do the same thing over and over. If i play for 3-4 hours a day (which is a stretch already with this game) I often feel like i have accomplished absolutely nothing. I cant make enough Po8 to upgrade anything significant because the update costs are way to high. I took me a while to upgrade one of my locations to level 7 which maxes out at 800 Po8. I just funded it for 10 hours...in that amount of time i won't even have the 800 Po8 because it is only producing 60/hr. And making the rum and opium to fund the factories takes hours to craft. This game is literally log on...collect materials to get some silver, start producing rum/opium etc. (thats a few hours), collect some Po8 thats another hour...if they are full at all. rinse and repeat. I still like the game but hopefully in season 2 they can introduce an automated system to help us mere mortal casual players that just looking for a fun non stressful gaming experience. Happy pirating all! sorry for the rant...i just have that love hate relationship with S&Bs right now.
First off I just want to say thanks for this incredible comment. I fully agree with everything you said. If I didn't already have this video as a goal, I would have never grinded this. It is absolutely brutal and boring tbh...It's just so sad, because the rest of the game is actually quite fun and doesn't deserve the hate it's getting. To your other main comment, I should have made that a clear point as well. I know most people won't push out of stage 1 or even stage 0 for that matter lol. For anyone reading in the situation described by AgentGeo, I would suggest reinvesting all po8 into up to page 20 in smuggler operations and then doing the supply and order runs every time they are up. You will just have to play maybe 20mins an hour. Then go doing something fun in the game(or play something else lol) Keep doing that over some weeks and should slowly unlock everything and avoid playing Uber eats Pirates 2.0 Will need to collect 40-60k PO8 overall(not sure if it will be enough sovereigns). This will take roughly 60 order runs. Looking at 20 - 30 hours to get enough. That should unlock up to page 20, unlock the sambuk, a couple stage 3 blueprints, some major furnitures, and maybe a couple soering items.

near 5:00 you don't lose items if you become overburdened. I've gotten my brigantine up to 70k weight from these contracts. they just go into your hold and you can no longer sail at trim. the other items like the commodities get dumped into the sea for pickup should u choose to dump your helm items (why would u).
I had a different outcome than most, I barely played any of the first missions and reached kingpin super early. I started my helm empire before I barely did any missions, the game is still fun all around though.
Ye that was the same with me. I was kingpin before i even got the sloop blueprint from Scurlocks quests. I did most of scurlocks quests in the brigantine 😂 just got so lost in the exploration and getting materials for a better ship that i forgot there was a story line
@@Polemos_Action you didnt mention though by doing this, this is how you get the helm death mark and get chased down by rogues for a while. Its now displayed as a red eye debuff under health bar
Thanks for the guide, this empire factory building is not even fun and I’ll wait until the fleet management comes to season 2 to see if it’s any fun to do or just pretty much sail the seas and enjoy boss fighting with fellow pirates. I just wish that there are more story quests.

Excellent content. Question: Since I'm unable to finish 'Mentari of the Unbound' (I finished all the prerequisites but still unable to interact with the residence of Admiral Rahma - bug or perhaps I sold something I shouldn't have or maybe lost something that was part of the quest in a sea battle) will this affect my ability to proceed further on in attaining Kingpin status? Ya so it does not double your Po8 anymore sadly. I think it got patched, but you will still get the PO8 and save your helm materials.(even if there is only one ship and you have 2 contracts) Note you will get the death mark, but I feel its not to significant.

@@Polemos_Actiondoubling your 8s by sinking the merchant definitely seems like an unintended exploit. Supplies works every time, so perhaps that is a feature. I just know I didn’t get any 8s on my delivery by sinking. I suppose further testing should be done

I actually do the whole runs and its not too bad. I spend an hour collecting all of africa and the red isles and make quite a chunk of change in the early level stages and start doing the other content while its getting full. If I was to add the indies I kind of figured that would be a run on its own and probably another 45-50 minutes for the whole run just because its almost as much as the other 2 combined. I actually don't even mind the random rogues or pestilence ships as i can usually take them down pretty fast. I can take down a pestilence ship usually under a minute. I am in the lower ranking of the leaderboard though since real life responsibilities but it usually goes pretty smooth and can knock out 1-2 runs before end of the day. I have been rising up from 20k to 10k in the seasonal leaderboard by doing this. I need to start doing the order deliveries though. Thanks for the information.
In stage 5 you mentioned something about doing supply routes every 20 mins to fund the factories with helm materials. Did i miss this in the video? I have no idea what this means. I'm also trying to figure out what i'm funding when i fund a factory with silver. I see multiple options (rum, gin etc) but what does that do? When a factory is full i can collect Po8, but what does the rum, gin, etc do when i fund? Can i collect that from the factory too? Some are locked as well and how do i unlock them/ And how do i know which item to fund? Hopefully someone can explain this step by step or forward to a video that explain this step by step and in detail.
Ya I should have used better vocab I used a lot of "supply this, supply that" WHen I say route it represents one of the three main routes that have the cities with the highest PO8 production rates all the way to the nearest den. One in the top right that hits sunny capital and sangdad down to talok. one from north africa to middle red isles to saint ann one is south africa to bottom red isle to saint ann. The main cities in these routes should be fed helm material, because it will be the best out put for your helm material. Then after freeding them a couple times they will be full(an hour -2 if you supply them 2 - 3 times) you harvest them and repeat. I also should have explained the different funding options. The main difference will be a trade off between PO8 production rate to silver. Basically once you get unlimited silver you will want to pick the best producer which can vary in region based on upgrades. The other difference will be which helm material will feed into each. I apologize for not getting those in this one. I may do a second to catch anything I missed or other new info!
Supply runs are crap, you lose helm commodities that you can turn into silver and get a low amount of PO8 for them. In fact one town can yield more PO8 than all supply runs combined. Bad advice
@@Polemos_Action Watched some more videos and heard some other info, i now have more questions then before. I still don't understand the supply runs. What it does, why they are inactive for me. I heard someone say you can boost production with it. Where can i see that and how does it work? I heard someone say the trade routes are important for choosing which factory to level up. It's why many chose Africa over Indies because Harufu has many connections (trade routes). This is what i heard but have no clue what it means. And i have so much more i don't understand. I've seen many videos and everyone says something different. Some say one thing is good and the other say it bad and so on. Most importantly all skip parts of all features in The Helm and some leave out important information. I've had fun playing the game up until this point, it's becoming more frustrating then fun. The game doesn't properly explain either. I play on my own and have only guides (YT, Reddit, etcetera) for information.

@@Ka_Wouter I try to look at it from purely the numbers and the best use of my time for an hour of play to gain PO8. I will try to help where I can. The trade routes just contribute to the PO8/hr. if you look at the sheet shown in the video you will see Harufu has the greatest PO8/hour and that's heavily influenced by the trade routes. but if you add the time to collect and sail all the way to saint ann it is actually more efficient to boost the sunny capital and sangdad(2nd and 3rd highest producers) in the east indies. Takes a lot less time to sail to telok and you can go work on the battle pass, a hunt, or something else. I just find that marginally better. You could do either and it will be pretty close to the same. You can see a %boost next to the amount of helm material required. It starts @200% I think and goes all the way 900%(Or 10X) for the level 10 cities. You should see it when interacting with any city you own. And this is just increasing the rate at which the city is producing. It will not go over the storage capacity. The supply runs have some bugs in general. Sometimes I can't activate them either. There are a couple causes that I know of. 1.) you don't have enough fund time left on your manufactory(typically 15mins or less) You can check that by scrolling over the specific factory. 2) you may not have enough helm material on your ship. I have often seen that it is asking for 100 but it actually needs 140 or something. 3.) You factory is not funded at all currently. 4.) It is bugged and can't be done until you start the factory again. And I do understand your frustration the game could have a lot more to make the user experience better. And I know I my video doesn't cover everything. I can only say that I will best try to help in the comments and future videos If you are still struggling I would also suggest checking out the official skull and bones discord. As far as helm upgrades go, wouldn’t it be wise to upgrade empire management as soon as you can? Since they boost how quick your properties produce with the trade routes?
I haven't done the math on it exactly but you would have to look at the rate of po8 gained from upgrading the settlement to the %gain from the empire management. For the top 5cities i don't think it is worth till they are level 9 then you could do some of the empire management. When I was going through. I think Harufu was at 350 will no empire management. Then I got those upgrades to the 522. So there is probably some that would be worth it when they are cheap. But it will only give marginal gains and I care more about storage size since I don't like sailing all over the map collecting

Everyone I've ever seen doing a wager worth over 1k ALWAYS has 3 or 4 friends guarding them. Since there is only room for 5 or 6 it's just free kills and free double up. They need to change that fast. Change the players server as soon as they accept the wager
Ya so every hour make sure you do the roving supply contracts. This will double your helm material. Level up all the pages for Smuggler operations. This will help boost your yield through out the process. Then refine materials to the high tier state. GOLD SKULL RUM, GIN, SILVER SNUFF, AND BLACK OPIUM. Then sell the gold skull stuff to Spurlock and the opium and snuff to rahma. You will start making more money then you are spending pretty quick
So you don't have to beat the story first for anyone thinking you do, you just have to get to kingpin i was kingpin before i finished scurlocs quests and started the helm quest

My recommendation on speeding too the top is having an agreement with 5 other friends. Find a light lobby invite them all to the lobby then as soon as the helm wagers is up everyone joins instantly then you got nothing to worry about as you get the wagers done the others are collecting their pieces for their wagers. And if you get 1 or 2 that get in before your friends it's still a 6 v 2 as long as you coordinate.
Great video, but I'm a little lost about one thing: At Stage 3, around 11:48, you show a spreadsheet with different production rates for each location. I don't understand this. When I look in-game, everything looks the same. They all produce at the same rate. Where is this data coming from? Thanks
Hey thanks for the comment. So when you click on a manufactory you own you will see different funding possibilities and each have a different PO8/hour. That scales with level. The rates shown in the image are when the factory is at max level and all upgrades are purchased.
Not sure what stage I’m at. Iv opened up the helm, but I still haven’t finished scurlocks missions or rahmas missions. Just a good ol fashions poppy seed bagel delivery boy.
Ya I would say stage one. I was incorrect in that you do not need to finish the Main storyline quests. I would focus on upgrading your smuggler operations. and slowly start taking over the Red isle manufactories. Good luck out there!

Honestly I think the game will do nothing but expand over the next few years, there is negativity of course but the future looks extremely bright considering people have been waiting for this game or any game like it since black flag, there has been a giant pirate void, once everyone hears about this game over the next few weeks and months it will explode. you can't even really compare it to sea of thieves, since the customization and ship selection set it so far apart in my mind, i got a feeling this game is the start of something pretty big. the ways they can go about expanding it are endless too, and once they iron out some of the more annoying or tedious stuff through feedback and time, the game will get polished up into a masterpiece. mark my words hahah, check back here in a few months and see. the game is filling a giant void people hardly knew was there, yet people who played potco and black flag can tell you straightaway how much this game was needed. nowhere to go but up@@Polemos_Action
There is also a bug going around with helm wager if you have 5 treasure maps in your cargo, the helm wager will bug out and you will lose everything i lost 600k+ because of this
Yes...I know it too well...I have it bugged so bad, I can't have even one treasure map or a quest item. If I do it doesn't work...ruined my day a couple times.
Honestly I've taken ur video onboard and the sinking of the roving ships is a bloody game changer to the gold and helm stuff it's really useful 👌 so u have sub from me But yeah I just hope they add something to make easier to collect business's maybe sale to the zone and click collect all just little things to help make the game go faster I definitely think adding a double gold event for players who don't helm wager or something along them lines over all I'm loving the game the alpha was well meh the beta was even more meh but the full game is fun and hooking when you get into it but its definitely not a AAAA Title like they think

I would say reinvest straight back into your empire. The weapons are nice, but you won't need them till you are opening a new region. The hostile takeovers in the red isles are not that hard and you could always do a legendary Heist if you are struggling in PVP. But I truly understand wanting to get the higher level gear(especially Dardanelles) so its up to you and what your goals are. If you want to set up a PO8 factory hold off buying anything till you start struggling in hostile take overs.(Some of the forts can be difficult so a sambuk and/or upgraded weapons can help then)
I took a helm order out to a roaming ship. I sank the ship as you suggested and received 0 pieces of eight. The contract is filled with no reward other than the mark of death. Are you supposed to give them the goods then sink the ship?
No it should have just given them straight to your inventory. You will see the rank increase in the bottom right. There were some other comments where some didn't get double and some didn't get any. Might be another bug. I'm sorry if it's not working for you.
@@Polemos_Action I waited around till they refreshed. My first encounter didn't give me any. I was at 200 PoE sank them and was still at 200. My second outing I did get the double PoE. Not sure if it had anything to do with me being marked for death. Could have just been a fluke my first run.

@@Polemos_Action I started doing my forceful sale of goods first just in case. I still get the helm materials from forceful buying even with the mark. (Bonus of sinking the buyers first w/o mark, it's much less stressful getting there)
@@Polemos_Action I've been receiving less Po8 for sinking the roving orders than if I sell. My last two runs I kept track of what I should have gotten from the sale and what I actually have after sinking. I'm constantly 10-50 Po8 less than if I made the sale. Yes I keep my goods, but an hour (on my ship) of extra ships everywhere isn't worth it to me. Not for the small orders I currently get.
I have pver a million PO8 already and upgraded all 38 ships. After that theres nothing more to do. Theres no point to it after that. It becomes boring and useless. You can also sell your gold rum etc at the managers and get 250 silver per piece and dont need to grind for silver. Only thing you need to do is get the resources in the helm contracts. Sorry if I messed up your video lol
I mean was kingpin 12 before I finished scurlock and was already farming Po8 so msq is kinda not needed. we still haven't finished the MsQ in the group I play with

For the upgrades at stage 3 for red isle when you have that route should i focus on the route upgrades first or the upgrades from first page in the book?
I think the first page of the book would be a priority. Getting the helm materials up is important for funding and supply runs later on. Let me know if you have any other questions.
yeah the wager thing is pretty offputting atm i just yesterday joined a wager and he had like 80k in the chest i managed to kill him and due to him being in a snow and i a brig i just outran the poor bastard to his port and got in i genuinely felt so bad about that while it started my empire really strong i turned around and sent him a chat message over uplay asking if he wanted me to run mine so he could just take it at the end to at least feel better about it *keep in mine my upper limit for 1 run was like 2k not much* he just logged off not a good feeling no doubt

Never boost any manufactory if not upgraded at 10. Always take Coast of Africa before East Indies. Funding at level 10 costs around 40k silver for 25 hours. Don't risk a wager if you are not sure what's going on the server you are on. Join random wagers and see how many/who joins the wagers. Do some safety measures before getting into a wager.
Thanks for the comment still not sure about africa first, but definitely agree with everything else. I think the sail from sunny capital to telok is so much better than Harufu. Both are great option if you max the right cities
@@Polemos_Action Africa first boosts your Red isle productions by 550%. Red isle doesnt do anything for the other regions. Logical sense is to open africa first because it increases your productions passively as you take places.
@@deathkiller211 Thanks for the comment. It really depends on your play style at that point. If you are sailing all over the red isle collecting everything then maybe Africa could be better. In the strategy I provide, it's just about time efficiency. Getting short runs on the cities that matter. I hate sailing all over the sea and even now I only have the 3 routes I mentioned maxed out, because I will not sail around the whole map again most likely. and those give me 85k for less than 1 hour of sailing.
Is this game worthy? Tbh i little bit dissapointed with no land battle or boarding battle (at least give it land battle Ubisoft has for honor maybe they can add that), also should i take discount or no discount?
Did they ever come out and say what exactly resets with each season? I know they said the card upgrades will, but will all of the endgame content reset? Like capturing the points/upgrading them?
@@shinigami0716 they will as they state all progress. the only question will be if po8 is considered progress. youll likely lose all your factories and desk upgrades. oh well no biggie its easy enough to get them again.
Ya Africa has harufu, but east indies has sunny capital and sangad(#2 and #3) just working off of the spreadsheet of everything at max it would seem like that route in east indies would be more time efficient

Stupid question but, I dont understand the "kill one of the merchants during supply run," thing. When I get there, theres only ever 1 guy. And if there were 2...does killing one double the amount of materials the remaining guy sells me? If each one is selling me 50, and I kill one so it doubles the remaining guy...Id get 100, so same as if there's 2 anyways? Or does he double his own to be 100, AND pick up the destroyed ships' meaning I would buy 150?
Not a stupid question I was curious about a lot of these also. But really all that matters is sinking one merchant ship. It doesn't matter if it's "Your" ship either. It will complete your contracts and double the resources and you don't have to pay with any silver
Ya so It will multiply the PO8 production per hour for the supply run time(starts at 15 mins. Upgrades can get it to 20min). For level 1 facilities I think it is 2X production boost. And for level 10 its a 10X boost. SO the example of harufu at level 10 normally has a production rate of 522Po8/hr if you do a supply run it will boost to 5220/hr for 20mins. or an additional 1740Po8 after 20 mins.
Ya I believe so. The question is will they take our PO8 or not? I feel that anyone who grinded for it should be able to keep it, but on the other hand new players will never have a chance to climb the leaderboard. So I'm not sure what is best or how ubisoft will proceed
👀 Ohhh ya you are right! That's a clean way to do it. All of the friends still need to get their empires set up so the wager is worth it, but ya if you can find some people willing to collude big gains there.

If you have a big empire you farm up a bunch of PO8, your buddy starts a helm wager and jettisons the chest, you pick it up and your PO8 is added to it, now you jettison it and he picks it up and runs it to the destination or vice versa depending on who needs to be carried.
Ya before I learned about converting to premium helm goods it was really difficult to keep up. I would send a lot of time trying to convert commodities with bad results
Yes you did but going back I actually can't get it to give me double Po8 anymore. Maybe it was patched out. I know I did that in the open beta all the time then the roving was gone for a while
@Polemos_Action I noticed it myself but forgot to edit my reply. I did it twice because I forgot to check the first time. Yeah it's pretty much an unnecessary death mark at this point.
I never expanded past St Anne because I saw there was no point in getting higher than 999,999 coins which I am very close to and after that I can't even see my po8 amount. If you farm the entire map you should exceed a million po8 in 1 week 2 weeks then what? Quit the game? I had been top 1000 in the beginning of season 1 and have dropped to 1.5k then 2k. But I just don't care since I can't reach top 8 and already crossed diamond weeks ago. So now all I do is the collection run once per day, kill the supply ship, and the rest of the time do trades for silver to finish my 5th level 12 ship Padawakang. The best thing is to stack as much silver as possible because you can use it to buy anything in the game whatsoever including carronades and wrathful ward. Some have even started to sell po8, one guy offers 168,000 po8 for 2 million silver. So farming silver is the true endgame imo.

What I did was that I used the upgrade to have them automatically do the shipping. thing and the upgrade part in the manufacturer is that a waste of time or is it worth it?
I was kingpin before I finished scurlocks missions... That's not necessary. Black prince dropped night 2 from an empty pvp treasure hunt. (Empty besides myself lol)
Ok thanks for pointing that out. I heard somewhere that skipping the main storyline could result in the bug of being locked out of the helm. But sounds like multiple people have made it without doing the story lines.
Im confused now, i can fathom harufu being the most profitable as its the only node with 11 trade routes connected to it, but the best ones in both red isles and indies aren't connected to the bigger trade route nodes at all... how does that make sense? And it almost feels like upgrading red isles page is entirely useless... almost feels bugged to be honest...i think they hired the people responsible for diablo 4s severely wrong math tbh...
Ya Not sure...I would also assume that the more dominate factions(Dutch and Compaine) would have more financial incentives. Seems a little random and the red isle page is pretty useless...last page to upgrade for sure.

I’ll be honest I enjoy the game but I feel like I’m spending more time doing this than playing with my friends. It feels more profitable to play solo and it just isn’t as fun. They really need to add other ways to get pieces of 8 with friends. I know there is like 1 I believe but I feel like an MMO should incentivize playing with friends. Not saying they shouldn’t add solo methods as well but they need better ways to play end game with friends
💯 This end game design is totally anti-multiplayer...Really sad to see. It just feels like I am mindlessly sailing around collecting. It more like work than anything else. I almost just rewatched the entire breaking bad series on the side during my play through of skull and bones. I hope they launch modes overall

One good way would be add a double PO8 bonus weekend on all business for all that way give pve players a way of getting double without pvp

once this game become a job, I lost interest, having to manage every factory, deliver material to every factory, upgrade every factory, now I just play it for shits and giggles, once I'm done with season pass, ill wait till next season, maybe they will automate the whole thing with fleet management.

Do Africa before East Indies, level up Harufu to 10 first and spend everything else on the first and final page of the upgrades. Level up the closest one to St Anne to 10 as well (cant remember the name right now) and then get everything up slowly. East Indies is not necessary to have great results. This advice comes from a top 10 leaderboard player. Do wagers in groups so they always succeed, collect 2-3 full supplies and then start the wager. Dude did one with 450k Po8 and got 900k in return. That's the only correct way for now until Ubisoft decides to change it all up
I actually think only up to 9 is best. If you do the math upgrading to 10 is less efficient for gold production and max storage per Po8 spent. I would start upgrading one of the other top cities before going to 10. Whether africa is better or not I have heard conflicting opinions. I'm sure either will work as long as you focus the main producers. Crazy to hear a 900k PO8!! 🤯
Not everyone can do wagers in groups though, its ok for those that can do that its easier for them to get there 900k but for alot solo players that just isnt an option

Great guide! Many of us have wasted so much time and po8 the wrong way. I know many hate the grind but with the new hot fix allowing you to pirate along the way it makes it more enjoyable and seeing over 50k per run is really rewarding now. I never do helm wagers, I call those "the helm always wins" just not worth it unless you got good pvp friends to back you up 👍

I took 110000 off off 4 players yesterday. It was me, a brig, who was in the helm event, and my homie in the Barque healing me. He wasn't in the event, so he couldn't get damaged by anyone. It was completely broken.

I never did the helm wager. It’ll glitch if you have maps when you take the wager; it won’t double your pieces of eight.
I was rank 38 in the leaderboards and climbing about five ranks per day up until they fucked the game up with the plague ships. They know they messed-up because they released an emergency patch mid-week to change the ships from spawning more frequently and acting more aggressively when you have pieces of eight on you, to spawning less frequently, but are levelled based on the number of coins you have.
It ruined it for me because by the time I had one destroyed, another would spawn. You can harvest bananas while being directly attacked, but don’t dare think about interacting with your manufactory when a ship has spotted you from a mile away through two mountain ranges.
Ya it was really frustrating when the patch dropped...That's when I decided to start focusing on content instead of playing. Luckily they patched it again and we can now interact with the cities. feels way better and make it feel like we are actually pirates.
The glitch is if you have max maps. The chest is treated as a map. If you have max maps, you don’t have room for the chest.

Currently 4/5 of the way through getting all my manufacturies to level 10.
If you want to guarantee a successful wager albeit less fun, (Arguably defeats the purpose of it) you could have a low level friend or an alt account join in a low average rank world and invite you to it and you can be left alone to do the wager.
Also as above you can do your full collect on any world then join your low rank friends world after collecting everything then trigger the wager by sitting at your last collection point.

The more I look at the economy (getting materials, converting into gold teir, selling for silver, funding level 10 locations (more silver if you use better production rates), and using materials to boost production) the more I feel like it is not ballanced and you will run out of resources/silver.
Do you have the first book(smuggler operations finished? You will get over 1000 helm material which will then be roughly 500-750 high tier helm goods- will be worth 125,000 - 187,500 silver per hour. You can maintain a big empire if you do that consistently

One correction. U don't need to do the main story to unlock Kingpin. U get kingpin unlocked by your pirate infamy. I had red isle unlocked and was already collecting pieces of 8 from them before finishing scurlocks' main story. It's a good idea to do them, though. You can sell late game items to the main story npcs for a lot of silver and is my main way of getting silver end game
Ya thanks for sharing. I heard that it may have been the reason some were getting stuck with the bug of not being able to do the helm quests. But I think that has been disproven also. And ya the high tier helm goods are key to keeping the empire alive.

Very informative the only thing i gotta say is you dont have to fight the rogues or pest's lackeys when picking up your po8. They will stop following you if ya out run them usually pretty quickly

Fastest way to get pieces of eight is to have 5 friends on. Collect your pieces of eight, get a helm wager, alert your friends that you have one before you accept it. When the friends are ready, join it and have all your friends join it. 6 players max can play the helm wager. That’s it. Maxed everything to level 10, you’ll get over 300,000+ coins in a run. Doubling to 600,000+.
Only other thing to say is if your friends are excellent or willing to trade for silver, during the helm wager you can jettison the chest and have a friend who’s been collecting pick it up. His coins are added. Then he jettisons the chest. Now you have his coins and your coins at double helm wager. I think a solid value is 10 silver per piece of 8. If he gives you 4,000 pieces of 8, you can trade him 40,000 silver
Ya heard of a couple million piece wagers done this way.
I am curious why silver is so important though? Why do people trade for it. I feel its basically unlimited with helm goods traded in
@@Polemos_Action when you have all level 10 manufactories, it costs north of 2.6 million silver to keep them up and running. So my suggestion of paying 10 silver per piece of eight is a very fare offer. 300,000 Poe for 3,000,000 silver. Paying him for what he gives you and his effort collecting it for the last hour and a half. He can fund them once they are empty. Not to mention if your on a double helm wager, that 300,000 is now 600,000 poe’s.
Edit: realize I didn’t quite answer your question. I’ve been struggling to get the rum/ opium/ snuff / gin and sell at this point to fund 76 maxed manufactories. So if I gave it away, I’d be even more at a negative when it comes to silver management. It would be fair if you had the silver to cover the cost to fund manufactories, you should pay into it if someone is giving up their time to provide it.
it is worth going through and collecting all your Pieces of 8 at once. You also can now interact with islands even when engaged in armor.

Very nice and informative guide, thank you. The major problem in the game is no content. For example it's obvious we can never catch up with old players, so I don't give a s**t about it. I'm just try to enjoy the game, exploring, help some players along the run. But still nothing to do. I could have full empire, but what then? Shall I be just mindless bot that collect the PO8 all day or just waste my time sailing around... But with every game I play, the moment game becomes a job I stop playing it. I have two jobs already in real life, game should be only for fun and steam out, period. And they had 10 years to make it, very lame and disappointing.

They will add trough the multiple passes like now. But for you playes that have 999...999 silver and PO8 even that would not do. That's what I'm frustrated mostly. You have all unlocked, max silver and PO8 and nothing to spend on. So why running around and spend time if there is no purpose of it.

You don't have to kill ships to get out of combat in order to interact with the cities, last patched changed that. Forts still the same though.

All I can say is JEEZE!!!! I've only been playing a few weeks, and already found the game quite intimidating, but after watching this video, I realize I haven't even scratched the surface. I knew the map was massive, and I have sailed around to much of it, and gotten into areas that I clearly wasn't a high enough level to be in. I only recently got my ship up to an 8, and there are NO upgrades on it yet. I have my PVP flag set to off, but the NPCs are aggressive enough that I frequently get irritated with them.
However, I will say thank you for the detailed look at what lies ahead if I continue playing this game. I got it during a free to play weekend, and bought it before I realized I had to have the damn PS+ membership, which I had intentionally avoided for years, but as there was no REFUND option for the game, I went ahead and bought the annual PS+ so I could continue playing this game. Obviously, I have MUCH to learn to get the most out of it, but this was all great information. Thanks.
I did helm wager 4 times, and each time it didn’t give me the bonus, im never doing it again, it’s too hectic for hack squat.
Another thing, if you try to take a stack of something out of storage, and it doesn’t switch over to your ship, don’t try to do it again, once you relog, that stack is auto deleted by the game.
Plague hunters are easy to deal with, as long as they didn’t spawn at the port you needed, although they made it to where you can collect while under attack now. What I did was just knock out their sails then go around an island or land mass, 5 seconds later they’ll de-agro and leave.

Currently at top 5000 this week I have only 3 main manufactories in Africa I collect from Harufu (level 9) and the other 2 with the most trade routes (level 8) I can play the game freely and don’t have to worry about constantly collecting po8

Its good information but typically I would disagree. You’re gonna find much better results going straight from red isle to Africa and immediately going for maxing harufu than upgrading every single port. Once harufu and one of the others is maxed (i went for jiwe originally) go for helm upgrades. Afterwards start maxing all the top 5 African ports. Helm upgrades again for the Africa page. Then go wild. Currently im working on my 5th lv 10 with both pages mentioned above maxed, and can easily get 80k a day (1 double and 2 normal runs) without spending my life grinding away coins.
Agree with this. I basically fast travel to great ukuta in the bottom left of the map then go along the coast up to Jiwe, loop round and collect jiwe weaver, head down to shijavu and work my way to sitrana, lamba weaver down that coast until the tsifo lumberyard and then straight hop over to st anne. 17 stop - 30 min run(ish). With all the main stops at rank 10 (top 5 with the most trade routes on that journey) and then everything else around 7+, i can get over 20k per run when everything is mostly full/full. I only do it around once a day now due to work, maybe twice.. and spend a little bit of time getting mats for funding/silver grind. If i'm not working i'll maybe do some supply runs to speed things up.
Ya don't get me wrong that is a solid route but for like 5 mins of sailing you can collect almost 10k starting at sunny capital hitting sangdad and the two other along the way to telok. For people who are trying to reduce the amount of uber eats pirate 2.0 this is the most efficient process. thanks for the insights on your pathing

thats incorrect. the desk upgrades are the foundation of your factories the earlier you max the desk the better off you will be in the long run. ive tutored many on this and they see the immediate benefit.
I lost an almost 400k chest yesterday in helm wager to a Scurlock's Long Nines build. That hit me so hard that I stopped playing the game entirely

Lets get real here. The sheer amount of Po8 and time just to get out of stage 1 is absolutely mind numbing. The end game economy system in this game is probably the worst I have seen. I really wish the video would have actually told you how many Po8 you need to get through each stage. This end game grind is discouraging and soul crushing. Let's face it, the casual gamer is not giving a crap about the leaderboard. Example, I just want to get some of the better weapons and armor to outfit my ship(s) with. okay how do i get that...oh i need sovereigns, to get the crap load of sovereigns you need a crap load of Po8, to make a crap load of Po8 you need to first collect a crap load of Po8, etc. etc. I have been in end game for a while now and only have collected about 5900 Po8 total because it is so time consuming and disheartening that it becomes very difficult for the casual gamer to press play every day to do the same thing over and over. If i play for 3-4 hours a day (which is a stretch already with this game) I often feel like i have accomplished absolutely nothing. I cant make enough Po8 to upgrade anything significant because the update costs are way to high. I took me a while to upgrade one of my locations to level 7 which maxes out at 800 Po8. I just funded it for 10 hours...in that amount of time i won't even have the 800 Po8 because it is only producing 60/hr. And making the rum and opium to fund the factories takes hours to craft. This game is literally log on...collect materials to get some silver, start producing rum/opium etc. (thats a few hours), collect some Po8 thats another hour...if they are full at all. rinse and repeat. I still like the game but hopefully in season 2 they can introduce an automated system to help us mere mortal casual players that just looking for a fun non stressful gaming experience. Happy pirating all! sorry for the rant...i just have that love hate relationship with S&Bs right now.
First off I just want to say thanks for this incredible comment. I fully agree with everything you said. If I didn't already have this video as a goal, I would have never grinded this. It is absolutely brutal and boring tbh...It's just so sad, because the rest of the game is actually quite fun and doesn't deserve the hate it's getting.
To your other main comment, I should have made that a clear point as well. I know most people won't push out of stage 1 or even stage 0 for that matter lol.
For anyone reading in the situation described by AgentGeo, I would suggest reinvesting all po8 into up to page 20 in smuggler operations and then doing the supply and order runs every time they are up. You will just have to play maybe 20mins an hour. Then go doing something fun in the game(or play something else lol) Keep doing that over some weeks and should slowly unlock everything and avoid playing Uber eats Pirates 2.0
Will need to collect 40-60k PO8 overall(not sure if it will be enough sovereigns). This will take roughly 60 order runs. Looking at 20 - 30 hours to get enough. That should unlock up to page 20, unlock the sambuk, a couple stage 3 blueprints, some major furnitures, and maybe a couple soering items.

near 5:00 you don't lose items if you become overburdened. I've gotten my brigantine up to 70k weight from these contracts. they just go into your hold and you can no longer sail at trim. the other items like the commodities get dumped into the sea for pickup should u choose to dump your helm items (why would u).

I had a different outcome than most, I barely played any of the first missions and reached kingpin super early. I started my helm empire before I barely did any missions, the game is still fun all around though.
So you don't have to finish the main campaign first? I actually thought that was leading to the bug, where people were locked out of the helm.

Ye that was the same with me. I was kingpin before i even got the sloop blueprint from Scurlocks quests. I did most of scurlocks quests in the brigantine 😂 just got so lost in the exploration and getting materials for a better ship that i forgot there was a story line

Yes destroy one it will complete your contract and double the resources. You can then kill more if you want or just sail back to port.
@@Polemos_Action you didnt mention though by doing this, this is how you get the helm death mark and get chased down by rogues for a while. Its now displayed as a red eye debuff under health bar
Thanks for the guide, this empire factory building is not even fun and I’ll wait until the fleet management comes to season 2 to see if it’s any fun to do or just pretty much sail the seas and enjoy boss fighting with fellow pirates. I just wish that there are more story quests.

When you say kill the merchant to get double gold. The ship we are delivering to? Helm ship,? Only 1 there . Feel like if kill it won't show back up
Ya so it does not double your Po8 anymore sadly. I think it got patched, but you will still get the PO8 and save your helm materials.(even if there is only one ship and you have 2 contracts)
Note you will get the death mark, but I feel its not to significant.

Yeah, don’t sink the roving ship when you’re making a delivery. You don’t get ANY Po8. It works when making a supply run, but not when delivering.

I actually do the whole runs and its not too bad. I spend an hour collecting all of africa and the red isles and make quite a chunk of change in the early level stages and start doing the other content while its getting full. If I was to add the indies I kind of figured that would be a run on its own and probably another 45-50 minutes for the whole run just because its almost as much as the other 2 combined. I actually don't even mind the random rogues or pestilence ships as i can usually take them down pretty fast. I can take down a pestilence ship usually under a minute. I am in the lower ranking of the leaderboard though since real life responsibilities but it usually goes pretty smooth and can knock out 1-2 runs before end of the day. I have been rising up from 20k to 10k in the seasonal leaderboard by doing this. I need to start doing the order deliveries though. Thanks for the information.

In stage 5 you mentioned something about doing supply routes every 20 mins to fund the factories with helm materials. Did i miss this in the video? I have no idea what this means.
I'm also trying to figure out what i'm funding when i fund a factory with silver. I see multiple options (rum, gin etc) but what does that do? When a factory is full i can collect Po8, but what does the rum, gin, etc do when i fund? Can i collect that from the factory too? Some are locked as well and how do i unlock them/ And how do i know which item to fund?
Hopefully someone can explain this step by step or forward to a video that explain this step by step and in detail.
Ya I should have used better vocab I used a lot of "supply this, supply that"
WHen I say route it represents one of the three main routes that have the cities with the highest PO8 production rates all the way to the nearest den.
One in the top right that hits sunny capital and sangdad down to talok.
one from north africa to middle red isles to saint ann
one is south africa to bottom red isle to saint ann.
The main cities in these routes should be fed helm material, because it will be the best out put for your helm material. Then after freeding them a couple times they will be full(an hour -2 if you supply them 2 - 3 times) you harvest them and repeat.
I also should have explained the different funding options. The main difference will be a trade off between PO8 production rate to silver. Basically once you get unlimited silver you will want to pick the best producer which can vary in region based on upgrades.
The other difference will be which helm material will feed into each.
I apologize for not getting those in this one. I may do a second to catch anything I missed or other new info!
Supply runs are crap, you lose helm commodities that you can turn into silver and get a low amount of PO8 for them. In fact one town can yield more PO8 than all supply runs combined. Bad advice

I heard someone say the trade routes are important for choosing which factory to level up. It's why many chose Africa over Indies because Harufu has many connections (trade routes). This is what i heard but have no clue what it means.
And i have so much more i don't understand.
I've seen many videos and everyone says something different. Some say one thing is good and the other say it bad and so on. Most importantly all skip parts of all features in The Helm and some leave out important information.
I've had fun playing the game up until this point, it's becoming more frustrating then fun. The game doesn't properly explain either. I play on my own and have only guides (YT, Reddit, etcetera) for information.

@@Ka_Wouter I try to look at it from purely the numbers and the best use of my time for an hour of play to gain PO8. I will try to help where I can.
The trade routes just contribute to the PO8/hr. if you look at the sheet shown in the video you will see Harufu has the greatest PO8/hour and that's heavily influenced by the trade routes. but if you add the time to collect and sail all the way to saint ann it is actually more efficient to boost the sunny capital and sangdad(2nd and 3rd highest producers) in the east indies. Takes a lot less time to sail to telok and you can go work on the battle pass, a hunt, or something else. I just find that marginally better. You could do either and it will be pretty close to the same.
You can see a %boost next to the amount of helm material required. It starts @200% I think and goes all the way 900%(Or 10X) for the level 10 cities. You should see it when interacting with any city you own. And this is just increasing the rate at which the city is producing. It will not go over the storage capacity.
The supply runs have some bugs in general. Sometimes I can't activate them either. There are a couple causes that I know of. 1.) you don't have enough fund time left on your manufactory(typically 15mins or less) You can check that by scrolling over the specific factory. 2) you may not have enough helm material on your ship. I have often seen that it is asking for 100 but it actually needs 140 or something. 3.) You factory is not funded at all currently. 4.) It is bugged and can't be done until you start the factory again.
And I do understand your frustration the game could have a lot more to make the user experience better. And I know I my video doesn't cover everything. I can only say that I will best try to help in the comments and future videos

As far as helm upgrades go, wouldn’t it be wise to upgrade empire management as soon as you can? Since they boost how quick your properties produce with the trade routes?
I haven't done the math on it exactly but you would have to look at the rate of po8 gained from upgrading the settlement to the %gain from the empire management. For the top 5cities i don't think it is worth till they are level 9 then you could do some of the empire management.
When I was going through. I think Harufu was at 350 will no empire management. Then I got those upgrades to the 522. So there is probably some that would be worth it when they are cheap. But it will only give marginal gains and I care more about storage size since I don't like sailing all over the map collecting

Everyone I've ever seen doing a wager worth over 1k ALWAYS has 3 or 4 friends guarding them. Since there is only room for 5 or 6 it's just free kills and free double up. They need to change that fast. Change the players server as soon as they accept the wager

Ya so every hour make sure you do the roving supply contracts. This will double your helm material. Level up all the pages for Smuggler operations. This will help boost your yield through out the process. Then refine materials to the high tier state. GOLD SKULL RUM, GIN, SILVER SNUFF, AND BLACK OPIUM.
Then sell the gold skull stuff to Spurlock and the opium and snuff to rahma.
You will start making more money then you are spending pretty quick

My recommendation on speeding too the top is having an agreement with 5 other friends. Find a light lobby invite them all to the lobby then as soon as the helm wagers is up everyone joins instantly then you got nothing to worry about as you get the wagers done the others are collecting their pieces for their wagers. And if you get 1 or 2 that get in before your friends it's still a 6 v 2 as long as you coordinate.

Hey thanks for the comment. So when you click on a manufactory you own you will see different funding possibilities and each have a different PO8/hour. That scales with level. The rates shown in the image are when the factory is at max level and all upgrades are purchased.

Ya I would say stage one. I was incorrect in that you do not need to finish the Main storyline quests. I would focus on upgrading your smuggler operations. and slowly start taking over the Red isle manufactories. Good luck out there!

Honestly I think the game will do nothing but expand over the next few years, there is negativity of course but the future looks extremely bright considering people have been waiting for this game or any game like it since black flag, there has been a giant pirate void, once everyone hears about this game over the next few weeks and months it will explode. you can't even really compare it to sea of thieves, since the customization and ship selection set it so far apart in my mind, i got a feeling this game is the start of something pretty big. the ways they can go about expanding it are endless too, and once they iron out some of the more annoying or tedious stuff through feedback and time, the game will get polished up into a masterpiece. mark my words hahah, check back here in a few months and see. the game is filling a giant void people hardly knew was there, yet people who played potco and black flag can tell you straightaway how much this game was needed. nowhere to go but up@@Polemos_Action
There is also a bug going around with helm wager if you have 5 treasure maps in your cargo, the helm wager will bug out and you will lose everything i lost 600k+ because of this

I would say reinvest straight back into your empire. The weapons are nice, but you won't need them till you are opening a new region. The hostile takeovers in the red isles are not that hard and you could always do a legendary Heist if you are struggling in PVP.
But I truly understand wanting to get the higher level gear(especially Dardanelles) so its up to you and what your goals are. If you want to set up a PO8 factory hold off buying anything till you start struggling in hostile take overs.(Some of the forts can be difficult so a sambuk and/or upgraded weapons can help then)

I took a helm order out to a roaming ship. I sank the ship as you suggested and received 0 pieces of eight. The contract is filled with no reward other than the mark of death. Are you supposed to give them the goods then sink the ship?
No it should have just given them straight to your inventory. You will see the rank increase in the bottom right. There were some other comments where some didn't get double and some didn't get any. Might be another bug. I'm sorry if it's not working for you.
@@Polemos_Action I waited around till they refreshed. My first encounter didn't give me any. I was at 200 PoE sank them and was still at 200.
My second outing I did get the double PoE.
Not sure if it had anything to do with me being marked for death. Could have just been a fluke my first run.

I still get the helm materials from forceful buying even with the mark.
(Bonus of sinking the buyers first w/o mark, it's much less stressful getting there)

My last two runs I kept track of what I should have gotten from the sale and what I actually have after sinking.
I'm constantly 10-50 Po8 less than if I made the sale. Yes I keep my goods, but an hour (on my ship) of extra ships everywhere isn't worth it to me. Not for the small orders I currently get.

I have pver a million PO8 already and upgraded all 38 ships. After that theres nothing more to do. Theres no point to it after that. It becomes boring and useless. You can also sell your gold rum etc at the managers and get 250 silver per piece and dont need to grind for silver. Only thing you need to do is get the resources in the helm contracts. Sorry if I messed up your video lol

yeah the wager thing is pretty offputting atm i just yesterday joined a wager and he had like 80k in the chest i managed to kill him and due to him being in a snow and i a brig i just outran the poor bastard to his port and got in i genuinely felt so bad about that while it started my empire really strong i turned around and sent him a chat message over uplay asking if he wanted me to run mine so he could just take it at the end to at least feel better about it *keep in mine my upper limit for 1 run was like 2k not much* he just logged off not a good feeling no doubt

It is a super polarizing event. It will make you super happy or just destroyed. I would like the event if it didn't take so long to do the pick up.

Never boost any manufactory if not upgraded at 10.
Always take Coast of Africa before East Indies.
Funding at level 10 costs around 40k silver for 25 hours.
Don't risk a wager if you are not sure what's going on the server you are on. Join random wagers and see how many/who joins the wagers. Do some safety measures before getting into a wager.
Thanks for the comment still not sure about africa first, but definitely agree with everything else. I think the sail from sunny capital to telok is so much better than Harufu. Both are great option if you max the right cities
@@Polemos_Action Africa first boosts your Red isle productions by 550%. Red isle doesnt do anything for the other regions. Logical sense is to open africa first because it increases your productions passively as you take places.
@@deathkiller211 Thanks for the comment. It really depends on your play style at that point. If you are sailing all over the red isle collecting everything then maybe Africa could be better.
In the strategy I provide, it's just about time efficiency. Getting short runs on the cities that matter.
I hate sailing all over the sea and even now I only have the 3 routes I mentioned maxed out, because I will not sail around the whole map again most likely. and those give me 85k for less than 1 hour of sailing.
Is this game worthy? Tbh i little bit dissapointed with no land battle or boarding battle (at least give it land battle Ubisoft has for honor maybe they can add that), also should i take discount or no discount?
Did they ever come out and say what exactly resets with each season? I know they said the card upgrades will, but will all of the endgame content reset? Like capturing the points/upgrading them?
God I f'n hope manufactories don't reset. About as tedious as collecting Po8
Ya great question. I haven't heard anything specific. very interested in how they will approach the reset
@@shinigami0716 they will as they state all progress. the only question will be if po8 is considered progress. youll likely lose all your factories and desk upgrades. oh well no biggie its easy enough to get them again.

Ya Africa has harufu, but east indies has sunny capital and sangad(#2 and #3) just working off of the spreadsheet of everything at max it would seem like that route in east indies would be more time efficient

I just go for the best PO8 per hour. It can cost more silver/po8 but I don't have problems with silver
Stupid question but, I dont understand the "kill one of the merchants during supply run," thing. When I get there, theres only ever 1 guy. And if there were 2...does killing one double the amount of materials the remaining guy sells me? If each one is selling me 50, and I kill one so it doubles the remaining guy...Id get 100, so same as if there's 2 anyways?
Or does he double his own to be 100, AND pick up the destroyed ships' meaning I would buy 150?
Not a stupid question I was curious about a lot of these also. But really all that matters is sinking one merchant ship. It doesn't matter if it's "Your" ship either. It will complete your contracts and double the resources and you don't have to pay with any silver

Yes that is how you can double the supplies. Make sure to sink it or it won't give you anything

Ya so It will multiply the PO8 production per hour for the supply run time(starts at 15 mins. Upgrades can get it to 20min). For level 1 facilities I think it is 2X production boost. And for level 10 its a 10X boost. SO the example of harufu at level 10 normally has a production rate of 522Po8/hr if you do a supply run it will boost to 5220/hr for 20mins. or an additional 1740Po8 after 20 mins.

Ya I believe so. The question is will they take our PO8 or not? I feel that anyone who grinded for it should be able to keep it, but on the other hand new players will never have a chance to climb the leaderboard. So I'm not sure what is best or how ubisoft will proceed

You can easily exploit the leader board just get a bunch of friends to do there daily helm join them sink them rinse an repeat with each friend

👀 Ohhh ya you are right! That's a clean way to do it. All of the friends still need to get their empires set up so the wager is worth it, but ya if you can find some people willing to collude big gains there.

@@Polemos_Action Right, still doesn't make sense why it was suggested to sink your buddies. Just jettison the chest.
@@Polemos_Action They don't even need to have their empires setup. If you have a big empire you farm up a bunch of PO8, your buddy starts a helm wager and jettisons the chest, you pick it up and your PO8 is added to it, now you jettison it and he picks it up and runs it to the destination or vice versa depending on who needs to be carried.

You can destroy the Roving ones from the Fast travel point Le Escale, no reason to go there and get overburden. Ballista

Ya before I learned about converting to premium helm goods it was really difficult to keep up. I would send a lot of time trying to convert commodities with bad results
PO8 70% you collect disappear at the end of the seasons don’t waste time. I had well over a million and at end of season walked away with 300,000

Yes you did but going back I actually can't get it to give me double Po8 anymore. Maybe it was patched out. I know I did that in the open beta all the time then the roving was gone for a while
@Polemos_Action I noticed it myself but forgot to edit my reply. I did it twice because I forgot to check the first time. Yeah it's pretty much an unnecessary death mark at this point.

I never expanded past St Anne because I saw there was no point in getting higher than 999,999 coins which I am very close to and after that I can't even see my po8 amount. If you farm the entire map you should exceed a million po8 in 1 week 2 weeks then what? Quit the game? I had been top 1000 in the beginning of season 1 and have dropped to 1.5k then 2k. But I just don't care since I can't reach top 8 and already crossed diamond weeks ago. So now all I do is the collection run once per day, kill the supply ship, and the rest of the time do trades for silver to finish my 5th level 12 ship Padawakang. The best thing is to stack as much silver as possible because you can use it to buy anything in the game whatsoever including carronades and wrathful ward. Some have even started to sell po8, one guy offers 168,000 po8 for 2 million silver. So farming silver is the true endgame imo.

What I did was that I used the upgrade to have them automatically do the shipping. thing and the upgrade part in the manufacturer is that a waste of time or is it worth it?
Has anyone here figured out a way to fix the Helm Bug? I have not been able to use the helm like many others.

I was kingpin before I finished scurlocks missions... That's not necessary. Black prince dropped night 2 from an empty pvp treasure hunt. (Empty besides myself lol)
Ok thanks for pointing that out. I heard somewhere that skipping the main storyline could result in the bug of being locked out of the helm. But sounds like multiple people have made it without doing the story lines.

Ya its bugged...the only time you can collect is after a Plunder. But that is a hard fort to Plunder lol
Im confused now, i can fathom harufu being the most profitable as its the only node with 11 trade routes connected to it, but the best ones in both red isles and indies aren't connected to the bigger trade route nodes at all... how does that make sense? And it almost feels like upgrading red isles page is entirely useless... almost feels bugged to be honest...i think they hired the people responsible for diablo 4s severely wrong math tbh...
Ya Not sure...I would also assume that the more dominate factions(Dutch and Compaine) would have more financial incentives. Seems a little random and the red isle page is pretty useless...last page to upgrade for sure.
