  • Following on from Mondays video, I decided to purchase another oil extractor. The manufacture is different, but, I believe the internals are the same. I use the device on my K11 Micra, which was due its yearly oil change. During the video, I also take some time to address some of the issues with the Ultimate Speed unit and some of the mistakes I made during troubleshooting.

I bought the last one on the shelf at Lidl with 60% off olny to find it must been returned. The box had been opened but everything was there it turned out to be the fuse had blown because the motor wouldn't turn, it looked like the pump head had been over tightened and stalling the motor. Sorted that and replaced the fuse with a automotive blade fuse and a couple of female insulated lucar connectors so that you can change it more easily should it happen again.

Interesting, the pump head on mine was very tight to the point of not rotating, but, it seemed to be a couple of mm too big for the housing.
