Arjun is going to need years of therapy lol
Enough of censoring a chess lecture. Jokes are not meant to be taken seriously, just relax. Ben is the best.
Jordan Smith What none of you at home understand yet is that abruptly removing the Donal- jokes is like ten times funnier than keeping them in, and that's half the reason why Ben Simon is doing it.
rex sinqfield is a die-hard trump supporter and for him there is NOTHING funny about a donald trump joke. NOTHING. :-)
Ben Simon has stated that it wasn't Rex, it was that he was tired of reading flame wars in the comments. Rex and Ben seem to get along, despite disagreeing on economic policy. Rex is a good guy,
Ian Remsen of course we love rex but ben knows which way the wind is blowing. ben Simon I mean. nobody gives a shit about you tube commenters they have mental state barely above protozoa saying things like "first" and "u sux". to care about comments is being far too disingenuous
Eric, let me be the first to tell you....that you suck....
Finegold is the most savage and exciting lecturer of the club by far
I took notes for the entire 45 minutes but no matter how hard I study I still can't understand all the jokes!
Sentence 2 and already he's already making fun of *censored*.
don't worry, you can say his name. it's the modern "liberals" who are for censorship
Only a few days into 2017, Ben's already back, firing shots at everybody. Love it!
You're spoiling us with all these Ben Finegold videos!
Thanks Ben! Another great lecture.
Ben - amazing lecture again. Thanks very much. Can we please see a return of your famous "class dismissed!"?
Love ur videos @andyisyoda. Also, go ben! But stay there.
gm finegold :) i love your videos keep them coming!
Oh, Finegold. There never was a better name for a chess instructor.
Got a notification on my phone a Ben video was uploaded!!
I love watching Bens videos. :D
Yes! So many BEN VIDS!!!!!
3:05
"What country is Riga in?
(...)
The correct answer is Moscow "
GM knows his countries
Moscow was the answer to "Where was the 2011 Tal Memorial?"
Great stuff as always.
"Probably when they're watching this video I'm already divorced" Had to pause it hahaha
hey ben, if you read this: please keep up! you're my favorite. i watch all of your vids on this channel :) (i suck at chess though, but maybe i'll become better after some more videos ;)
Were you referring to the Fisher vs Spassky game earlier in the vedio?
many many tx for this video !
Brasil
14:47 "...and then, bishop takes, pawn takes, and white has a fantastic pawn structure". xD
This videos will never age.
Where can I get unedited version
what chess program do they use for videos??
(15:20) Opposite coloured Rooks, hahaha very observant. I think many people would have missed that.
lol
Dan Kelly I see you everywhere
You down with O.P.P.?
What is the opening/ Outro song? It goes hard
Anybody know what movie / documentary he`s talking about?
"I like making fun of Nakamura because who doesn't."
hahaha some people just have a personality that invites this sort of thing.
I love how Ben talks to camera with snarky comments😭 he’s so entertaining, yet informative
"Nakamura doesn't play for prize money..." *Almost falls over from trying to stifle his laughing*
Perfect!
In fact, there have been some good British GMs, Short doesn't let us forget that there was a great British player who beat Morphy. But, I do think we need more Chess!
Please make a video with all the censored Trump content,I bet the subscribers would love that
That would actually be pretty funny.
Lucas Belintani I started that
MAKE THIS HAPPEN NOW
riga is in latvia ?
thats a good idea
Why did you cut out Ben's story of working with Nakamura!??? I wanted to hear Ben's insight on nakamura's weakness witht he grunfeld.
I agree
Yeah I agree
With all due respect, Ben Finegold's a crap GM and always has been; Nakamura plays better chess on accident than Finegold plays on purpose. It's a shock that Nakamura would even bother working with the guy.
AHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH Bro he is 2450-2500 for more than 20 years, and you say he is a 'crap GM'? LOL probably not the Super GM strength, but still incredibly strong.
@@profd65 With all due respect, your opinion is shit and always will be; Finegold plays better chess than you will ever play in your entire life. It's a shock that you would even bother writing a comment when you're below 1k elo and don't understand 95% of the moves played by GMs.
He was up a queen and he drew against anish.
Man the Adams joke at 1:25 had me on the floor
14:26 ... listen, I'm fine getting forked or skewered, but if anybody tries to spoon me during a chess game we're gonna have issues.
Is that Arjun Eringaisi?
Okay... Right before white takes blacks king, after Nd5, why doesn't black just retreat to b7? I see the problem with all the other squared except d7. I appreciate any answers very much.
Right, Arjen?
yeiiii bens lecture
any chance you could talk about laissez faire and what is up with that move? it hurts my brain.
I did the best I could to analyze the position at 29:25 when black plays the mysterious b4. White is probably just winning in this position, so I had to consider logical moves that weren't best for white to understand the idea for black. After axb4, the b pawn is weak, the black rook can take the b pawn, and the the black queen can go to a5 and threaten the white king. And the position is about equal. The following line is an example. 1.... b4, 2. axb4, Ne5, 3. Qh3, Rb8, 4. Qg2, h5, 5. gxh5, Rxb4, 6. Rdg1, Bb7, 7. Nxe6, Qa5, 8. Bd4, Qa1+, 9. Kd2, Qa5, 10. Ra1, Nxe4, 11. Qxe4, Bxe4, 12. Rxa5, Bxh1.
I have played this guy before, he literally didn't look at the board one time because he was talking to someone and he beat me q.q
love love. we jus love Gm Finegold. love from Iran
The stuff from 1:00 to 2:00 just cracks me up so much😂
0:30 The only cups I win are the cups of beefaronian.
GRANDMASTER BEN FINEGOLD!!!
"Trying is the first step to failure"
22:06 checks twitter mid-lecture
There's a lot of good defenses for the C pawn...I just don't see any. 😂😂😂😂 Classic Ben.
Can somebody explain me what problem Ben has with Hikaru???
He beat him
@@Noah-wv4td This comment didn't age well.
Where's GM Akobian these days?
Never knew opposite colored rooks are a draw. I’d take notes but I’m stuck on opp
@35:59 White should have went Knife f5, then knight d6 because: always repeat.
Was the alligator joke related to crocodile tears? Uuh... it's a long-shot but was the only think I could think of :D haha!
Not dismissing the class: terrible!
Third time.
GM Finegold still the best, though (but i miss GM Oberyn Martel and Yasser)
João Luís GM oberyn martell hahahahaha That's gold
Artic Shreder, He actually respond on the live chat at the sinqfield cup, he's some gentleman. 😂
portugues?
Mc gravata brasileiro 😂
jogas no chess.com?
At 19:11, why doesn't white play Re4?
When you are attacking, you must move your arms like Donkey Kong, not like King Kong. Learn the difference Ben.
I can't spell opposite... what comes after opp?
That last game looked completely alien to me! wtf
"Wesley So from Finegold School of Chess"
3,10: he´s actually saying Latvia
Wtf dude 18:53 why didn't he do Re5 checking the kings moving the king away from rook then taking rook ? or something like that ..? oh nvm king can just move to white square
Does anybody know Daniel Dardha 11 years 2100 fide I'm his best friend
this guy gets hella sidetracked
thats the best part
+1
I feel so proud I got the joke at 11:52 :D
When black plays rd6 what happens if black takes it with the queen?
After white takes with the knight, material's about equal and white's pawns are all screwed up, right?
Ben is raw
What about rook E5 check
We r watching in 2018
@y0KI
FOR TRAINING
if you thought 2017 was bad...
31:03 15... b4 16. axb4 Ne5 17. Qxf4 Nexg4 18. Bxg4 e5 19. Nd5 Nxd5 20. Qf3 Nxb4 is good for black... Nakamura played b4 for this reason maybe
Yay Finegold!
the second half -- more than half is sidetracked talk. still worth it but a little annoying
so a GM is basically just really good at memorizing computer lines?
Lee Chang Yes.
2017 = Amazing. Finegold back at the chess club, Trump taking over the White House. This will be the year we tell our grandkids about!
14:45
Why take the knight?
demonhead鬼 seemed weird to me too. Probably because So wanted to further damage naka’s pawn structure? Trade down further as he’s up in material.
11:49 lol Marshall
I feel like i get it even if I don't get it, which is most of the time. And when I do get it, I guess I feel like Arjun.
Hahahaha! that was pure gold, 20:57
It 2018
02:33 Hikaru Nakamura vs Wesley So, London Chess Classic (2016): D85 Gruenfeld, exchange variation
22:27 Fabiano Caruana vs Hikaru Nakamura, London Chess Classic (2016): B96 Sicilian, Najdorf, 7.f4
that's a great Bobby Fischer joke
the 40 year old grandmaster. get the book
9:55
BEN YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Opposite coloured rooks to backsites.
5 people always play f6
followed by f3
*very suspicious*
its true! sometimes when I play with my father he forgets what color he has, so he moves my piece instead of his xΔ
19:19 why not D6 to protect pawn on F4 then if black takes they trade bishops and he could try and Tie the match?
Nj Rocks Cuz 2 pawns down in a rook endgame is hopeless. 1. Bd6 Rxd6 2. Rxc4 Re6+ 3. Kd2 Re4 and trades rooks or captures the a-pawn creating connected passers. Both cases easily winning.
3:35 hmmm... very suspicious
Can someone explain the alligator joke... lol
It was on the phrase “alligator tears”, and the joke was that his tears were fake and he didn’t actually care
Can this guy not touch his face for a whole minute?
32:18: You say Nakamura played a practice game with his coach in that position, but don't you mean that Caruana did?
sacundim yeah I also think he meant Caruana
No, nakamura played the position with his coach, and incorrectly judged that the position was a draw
Legend Say if you comments within 10 hours of publish, The Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Saint Louis, they will reply to you. ;)
How's that working out for you?
Hikara Shocka--mura
"Most of you don't look too cute... ", still laughing!
loosing is not good? !!!! terrible....
If you're a chess genius are you really a genius?
Don't want to spend hours memorizing computer openings? Play chess960.
Lost some weight ben 😀👍
24:15 😂😂
