I've started a series of paintings putting in Time Travellers into old paintings and also Monoliths into landscapes. It's just for fun and for my friends if they want to buy one.
I hate when artists do this they never blend with the picture, but the sci fi one you really did well and the sheep going up was Perfect! And the cat I’d buy it myself it’s Awesome. You’re truly talented you’re no joke! Wow, just Wow!
Fun video. You are much better off using oil to cover the old paintings because you don't know what paint they were painted with and you can put oil over acrylic but not acrylic over oil because it will flake off in a short time.
Actually, on the kat u should have painted a layer of Gesso, followed bt a layer of Gelatine, Then your cat, so its all easey to remove if you want to discover original floral picture

They were made with love, but they were donated to a thrift store because someone didn’t want it or couldn’t keep it anymore, so customers are allowed to do with them what they please
If the floral painting was an oil painting, the acrylic paint won’t stay on it. It will start to chip, flake and peel off the oil paint. Sad, because it charming.

I love the cat painting especially- my cats, Carr and Jack, say it has inspired them in ways to camouflage themselves when their adventures might call for it!

You're a sweet girl, but you really need to learn some of the basics of working in acrylic and oil paints. One simple rule is NEVER use acrylic over oil paint. You can use oil over acrylic, but not the other way round.
Thanks for the advice, but it did work for me this time. Maybe I was lucky because of the underlying varnish. I know the basics, but I didn't have any oil paint en thought to give it a try anyway 😊

Oil often takes several months, even up to a year or more, to dry. As paint dries (all paint), it shrinks . . . draws up tighter and tighter. Thus, the oil paint that lies beneath the acrylic paint may still be softer and still drying while the acrylic you put on top will dry in minutes, causing the oil paint below to wrinkle and distort, which will cause your acrylic paint to also wrinkle and distort. I understand you are doing "fun" work, so the ultimate outcome is not that important, but if you are doing a revision like this that "matters," you may end up heartbroken when your paint begins to wrinkle.
