A tip for YOU, you can plant specifically seed carrots, I'm pretty sure waiting for a regular carrot to go to seed is NOT the way to be any sort of efficient. Also, when you're trying to smash your own boat, instead of flailing around in the water like a goober, get on your boat and hit the mast.
CRYPT TRIP: Make a portal at your home base. Take enough wood and supplies for a second portal and a workbench. Build a workbench behind the crypt that will also act as a stair to build the second portal on top of the crypt just above the door then connect it to you home portal. Both the workbench and portal remain safe. This gives you the opportunity to off load materials (except metal) at home and even eat and go to sleep to turn the night.
Having a portal for your return home is a given, but I definitely don't put portals on every crypt lol only if you die in the worst possible way will you need full gear to retrieve your stuff 😄 hence the setting a spawn b4 sketchy situations(not just crypts either)
@@lbschatzI hear you, I just find it unnecessary to do so unless your hauling every piece of bark out of the crypts then it might make sense to portal everyone of them
I actually carry my step up with me using a Karver and build a mini house on the crypt, I use the sutling farms to gather coal and make the iron items on site. Its so much faster. It can be a ball ache to set up but if you scout ahead 1st (regardless of biome), if there are loads of resources you're on to a win. It's more interesting to live in the biomes.
One tip to add when breaking your boat, is to attack the boat's mast! When it breaks you will pickup everything as you fall into the water, just make sure you have enough slots open. Can keep the mats from dropping into deep waters.
I'm not sure what was that about boats randomly not dropping all the materials they were made from. They 100% drop all of them every time, but the nails don't float like e.g. the wood does. So the real tip is to always park your boat at a location where the water is shallow under the middle of the boat. And by shallow I mean shallow enough to be able to pick stuff up from the bottom of the water.
Funny story about ships in game. Last year I had a longship, and I parked it somewhere as I explored the nearby landmass, well long story shorter, I lost my longship. Not destroyed, just lost. It was a whole mood. After downloading the vehicle markers mod I found it, just off shore from a meadows biome that I did nothing with. So morel of the story Mark your ships lest you lose one for a year... or forever.
haha, a buddy of mine crashed on a server while sailing a ship filled with iron. When he logged back in he was in the water and the boat was gone. Him and i, and about 25 more people helped look for it over several days, before it was found halfway across the map, still filled with iron
I dig down and around copper and silver nodes, drop a workbench under it set fires in the pit around it. Can mine the whole node with little or no Greydwarf trouble and it's satisfying to Pop the node and watch them explode. On Silver it also gives you a pit to catch and tame wolves in. Generally while down there I can work around the clock and with the fires have a constant shelter and rested bonus until the node pops. Get about 90-130-sih Copper/Silver ore per node. On the boat, I tend to back them up to shores, if there's a large rock extending out into the water I will park just off of the furthest most point out. Drop a workbench and a fire. I have never had a problem with mobs attacking the boat and if I needed to make a fast escape, my boat is usually pointed in the right direction. Once the boat is out of your bubble of influence, is should be safe until you return. I will sometimes also throw down a portal there so I can pop home, re-up my rested buff and start fresh where ever I land. Swamp Protips: Put a Portal and a Workbench and a Chest on top of the Sunken Crypt nearest the water. Take your hoe and Crypt Key, explore the swamp, use the hoe to make paths so you don't sink in the water, unlock all the crypts you find and mark them on the map, take your key back to base and put it someplace safe. You have opened all the crypts and by storing the key back at base, freed up an extra inventory slot to carry. Make work benches and Chests on the tops of the crypts as you work them. Move all the ore you find to the crypt near the water as you go. When you're done everything is near the water, pull up your boat, load it and sail on home. Leave the portal as you will revisit the swamps later to farm bloodbags.
I will agree on everything except the tip on copper ores. Mining it out completely will give you more Copper ofcourse, but the amount of time it takes to do so simply isnt worth while, since copper vains are strewn all over. In my experience mining several coppernotes, but only mining what is above ground before moving on is much much faster. Once i have all the copper above ground, i find the lowest point on the ground, and use the hoe to flatten it out, and reveal more copper notes hidden below - much faster than digging. It will give me about 70% of the copper. This method also allows me to replant grass where i have mined, leaving a nice pasture instead of a gapping crater. Great video man :D
That's such a Pro tip dude, embarrassed to admit, 700hrs deep and never thought of that. LoL 😂 on the other hand, I do use my old copper craters (or just dig random "troll holes") to trap trolls so I don't have to take them down, and therefore never get the 'the ground is shacking' event. But totally going to try your method. That sounds ace! Cheers!👍
This is true if your pickaxe skill isn't that high, it took me about 10 mins to pop that copper vein off the ground and make it crumble so it wasn't too time consuming. But filling the ground in so your biome doesn't look like a war zone is a legit thing to do haha 😆 plus if you remove the nodes out of the ground it can lower your instances and boost ur fps if you plan on building around there 😉
When destroying your boat, don't stand at the side hitting the gunwales. Instead, park it in shallow water, stand on the deck and attack the mast with your weapon to destroy the boat. When it sinks, you will drop into the water and auto-gather all the components as they drop where the mast is. The Lox tip is a good one, although it should be noted that the average player won't get 1-star Lox as you need a mod to spawn them. Regarding plantable crops, the key one for me is Turnips. Carrots are plentiful in BF so I often have 25-30 seeds by the time I get my Cultivator and am ready to farm. But Turnips are very rare and I'm lucky to find 3-6 seeds on my first foray into a Swamp. For me, it's not about Turnip foods (Turnip Stew or Black Soup) as those are going to take a long time to be sustainable. Instead, it's about getting 3 Turnips for the Spice Rack. Which enables Sausages, which don't use Turnips but which provide a huge boost to your survivability. So my first priority is always to find 6 Turnip seeds (two plants) as soon as I get into the Swamp. I plant them all and when they mature, I use three for the Spice Rack and then replant the other three to start building up my seed stock. It may sound counter-intuitive to 'waste' half your Turnips rather than replanting them for seeds. But getting Sausages as early as possible is too good to pass up. My tip for the day is not so much a mistake but rather an alternative approach to consider. Which is to build your base within running distance of resources. People will often build their base far from resources. Then they go to the resources, build a mining camp, gather a huge amount of ore, bring it home by ship or in a Cart, and then process and make all their gear from the bulk delivery of ore. The problem with this is that the whole time you are out mining and bringing the ore home, you still have your gear from the previous biome and are thus weaker. Instead, I make two bases in the game. My starter base is in Meadows as close to a BF as possible. Every day, I run from my base to nearby Copper or Tin, mine as much as I can carry, run home with it and then process it that night. When I head out the next day, it's with a new piece of Copper gear. So I'm getting stronger day by day. My end-game base is in Meadows, within running distance of a Swamp and Mountain if possible. I portal to the resource every day, mine as much as I can carry, run home and process/craft it that night. Getting that first Iron or Silver piece of armour is a huge help in surviving those biomes. When you augment that with your first Iron or Silver weapon, the new biome suddenly gets a whole lot easier. It makes far more sense to get stronger day by day than taking weeks to gather a huge shipment of ore, only then bringing it home, and only then becoming stronger due to the gear that you craft from it.
So both are good tips, standing in the boat to destroy and the forwarding outposts for resources collecting. I usually make smelters and forges close to whatever I'm mining and do my crafting there. But when it comes to needing iron and bronze for building there's not many options except for haul it back to where you need it. As for the lox, no mods needed for it. Once you start piling people up on the server the enemies scale up. I've seen a multitude of 2 star serpents, 1 star loxen and several beast creatures I never seen on my solo playthrough. :)

you don't get seed flowers from planting crop seeds. you get them from planting seed flowers, by harvesting the crop and then replanting it. not a great sign when the first tip is wrong but i'll stick with it and see what else is in here lol
there was just straight up wrong info: u get seeds from planting the veggies not letting the veggies 'go to seed', there are no starred lox in the vanilla game, and destroying ur ship does actually give you all the mats back every time. disappointing :(
I have never been able to tame a 1 star wolf most of the time i kill them and then realize it was a 1 star. Once i did manage to get one tamed and a drake killed it before i could get it to my base.
why kite them long distance if you can just make taming pit? lure wolf or better yet use abisal harpoon to drag it into pit , drop in stack of meat in, put workbench and cover pit completely with roof, may as well put some shelter while at it and just wait there inside shelter not seen or heard by wolf not other mobs and when tammed wolf not gona aggro other mobs untill pit is uncovered, thats how i got my 2 stared wolf pair to start the pack. once they got tamed just either dig ramp or build ramp, or turn pvp temporary to use harpoon to drag out of pit
2:47 it gives u back the exact same amount u put in all the time. stand next to the mast to avoid materials sinking and u not being able to loot them anymore. also take care u have auto pick up on and enough space and weight in ur inventory.
I just watched a video on what triggers the raids. Its a distance thing with camp fires and crafting items. You need so many and all need to be within a certain distance of each other. If you place one outside the area then it triggers the raid. In the house I just built the raids stopped coming when I placed my items. No doubt they will start again when I build a new building with those items outside of the bubble.
Very true, I believe it's 20m around campfires that block spawns (raids included) so if you cover the area with blockers then you shouldn't ever have a problem with raids lol
seed out? can u pick carrots if u plant them to seed? i just thought if plant a seed it becomes carrot, and if u plant a carrots you get the seeds. How did u find those star lox? never seen one. or it is mod?
Thats what i meant by "seeding them out" i may have skimmed over that too fast lol No enemy mod, just the more people on a server the more the enemies scale up.
Big fan of your videos --- especially your build videos, which are fantastic. However, there are two points in this video that I consider mistakes. 1) Placing a bed on top of a crypt. If you die in the swamp, you'll respawn in that bed with 25 health, very little stamina, no weapons, no health or stamina foods. Whatever killed you is still there, and you'll be one-shotted by every mob you encounter. Much better to put a portal on top of the crypt. You'll respawn at your home base, can grab a weapon and shield, eat health and stamina foods, and take a poison resist potion. This will give you a much better chance to survive your corpse run. 2) Leaving your boat away from land. If your boat gets destroyed where you left it in the video, chances are the water will be too deep for you to recover your mats. You can build roof pieces out into the water to walk underwater and retrieve your mats, but that's a pain. But it does work --- I did it the other day to successfully retrieve sea serpent scales. Much better in most instances to crash your boat into the shore, set up a portal, then destroy the boat by hitting the MAST --- as others have already suggested --- then craft it again as needed. Only takes a matter of seconds to craft, and is much more efficient than swimming out and trying to retrieve your boat mats.
Very kind of you :) So when it comes to portals you should always a portal in and out of the biome foe worst case scenarios haha 😄 only then would you need full gear to retrieve your stuff besides that a bed will suffice (in this applies to more then just crypts) And about the boats I've never had to retrieve the boat mats away from shore since there is nothing for them to break on out there only weather deterioration. That was main point of that in general. But breaking your boat down is definitely a safe option too tho
Planted veggie seeds never turn to more seeds for me no matter how long I leave them. But if I take them out of the ground after they have grown and then plant them, they turn into seeds.
I live in the biome depending on the age to speed up the age, I.e. Live in the dark forest to speed up the bronze age or love in the swamp to speed up the iron age, you can mine and upgrade on site
Placing the Portal on top of the crypt instead of Bed is more convinient and advantageous (imo). In case of death you can get the Rested buff at a homebase and everything else you need (food, weapon, equipment) without the need to transfer all this to the swamps. Also it`s the easiest way to transfer all loot (except the metal) to a homebase. And at least you can skip the night.
Setting a spawn b4 any sketchy situation definitely the I go, placing a portal somewhere is a given for your return home. But I don't put a portal on every crypt lol I can usually retrieve my gear naked and hauling ass if I have too haha 😄
TIP: when you destroy a boat, you never lose the materials, just some float and some sink, like the iron nails for the longship. so if you need to take down your ship, just do it on shallow waters so your able to pickup the heavy materials :)
I usually find a small plains island or peninsula and build my main farm and sometimes base their as I can grow anything there and don't have to worry about raids at all.
I let plants go to seed when i got the game around a year ago and it never happened, This is either bs or it takes way longer than replanting. Many times i have been to busy to harvest plants and never have i seen plants got to seed on their own.
I definitely blew through that a little fast 😆 haha that's the process of seeding them out and not using your veg for food. Don't mind my drunken mistakes lol
Question to 6:42 how can u dig that deep? i feel like i can only dig 30% of this deep and then there is now way to get deeper. Is this a mod or am i doing something wrong?
no mods for depth, just depends on where you're at. some points the water level/bedrock can be higher. I'll use the free fly camera to scope it out before hand
yea it really depends on exact location, some deposits could be like 1/3 into bedrock some can be dug quite deep under them like 3+ walls under lowest bottom spikes. and its not 6'ish deposits in one place, most i found was like 3 relatively close , whole upper part and all below it is just ONE deposit but it looks smooth on top but quite spiky from underneath, aso if i can dig under then i do it will be easier, i dig deep shaft till hit bedrock and dig perimeter then all under deposit, once nothing keeps it there then its just one/few hit from pickaxe and whole deposit pops, but its not always posible to dig under all pars due to uneven terain and in turn uneven bedrock
Tamed animals don't cover all the spawns in the biome so the point remains the same :) and find an island and rise the ground off it, that's 3 little islands that I connected right there haha
It is possible to use a cart as a sort of floating device, a vwry slow one, but it allows your character and camera to remain "standing" while also lowering your camera enough to be able to snap underwater structures much deeper than normal. You should try it some time. Can make some awesome docks and piers this way.
when digging for stone or copper or silver i just excavate the whole thing from the outside in. break the bits anchoring into the ground that you cant dig anymore and the whole thing pops
Your first tip is completely wrong (sorry bro) - You grow the first couple carrots.. then replant the carrots as "Seed Carrots" and they produce 3 seeds.. There is no amount of time that will turn a carrot, that grew from a seed, into a seed carrot just by leaving them in the ground longer.. rest of the video is pretty solid tho
If you are in a solo game digging up the entire node of copper is pointless. Just do what you can get to with little effort and move to the next. It's less time consuming.
its defintely not designed to not drop mats but it DEFINTELY happens... i have well over 2k hrs in this game since launch day and have lost nails and bark multiple time. Bugs are a thing lol
From the mats that disappear when Ive broken down my ships lol 😆 Of course I've been playing dedicatedly since release and had plenty of chances for this to happen so somethings are just bugs not coded into the game.
@@UnknownFactions has it happened recently? broken something and not gotten full mats back, just curious...actually i should say have you broken anything recently and not had full mats DROP, that doesn't mean you are able to collect them=)
Its a common misconception since not all materials can float. But materials should always be refunded 100% of the times with no exceptions ever. Thats how the game works. I guess you were just unlucky and had the nails of a boat sink too deeply to recover them. Something you can do to recover them would be to build a tall structure right beside where you know the materials would be. Then make your character fall from the tallest point towards the sunken items. Your character will sink much deeper before resurfacing thanks to inertia, giving you a chance to auto-collect the sunken items. I've recovered a couple of boats this way.
First of all you spawned unnaturally strong Lox to put up a fighting chance against Yag, starred Lox don't exist naturally, also most of these are great tips with terrible application, how many longship materials have you caused people to lose? Pushing the ships into the ocean as you hit them, also just dig a moat, only requires you to beat the first boss and boom literally all but 2 events are no longer problems, instead of sailing trying to find a small part of land you can abuse in the middle of the ocean....
second? you mean tall walking bonfire just waiting to be lit lol? fire is the trick for him. and also finding solid enouth cover from his projectile launch, it can and will break trees but rocks can take some hits until becoming too small for cover. i done solo eiktir (lightning deer) elder (dendroid) and bonemass (the stinky bone pile)

you don't get seed flowers from planting crop seeds. you get them from planting seed flowers, by harvesting the crop and then replanting it. not a great sign when the first tip is wrong but i'll stick with it and see what else is in here lol
there was just straight up wrong info: u get seeds from planting the veggies not letting the veggies 'go to seed', there are no starred lox in the vanilla game, and destroying ur ship does actually give you all the mats back every time. disappointing :(
@@hellofditties you’re not even kidding dude; he literally has mostly wrong info…
I have never been able to tame a 1 star wolf most of the time i kill them and then realize it was a 1 star. Once i did manage to get one tamed and a drake killed it before i could get it to my base.
Lmao 🤣 that's horrible luck bro I've found it easier to kite them off the mountain first then tame them
why kite them long distance if you can just make taming pit? lure wolf or better yet use abisal harpoon to drag it into pit , drop in stack of meat in, put workbench and cover pit completely with roof, may as well put some shelter while at it and just wait there inside shelter not seen or heard by wolf not other mobs and when tammed wolf not gona aggro other mobs untill pit is uncovered, thats how i got my 2 stared wolf pair to start the pack. once they got tamed just either dig ramp or build ramp, or turn pvp temporary to use harpoon to drag out of pit
2:47 it gives u back the exact same amount u put in all the time. stand next to the mast to avoid materials sinking and u not being able to loot them anymore. also take care u have auto pick up on and enough space and weight in ur inventory.
I just ram it up onto shore.
I’m so happy this game is not completely dead! And I hope it only gets more popular
Me too haha 😄 I won't quit until all the content is released maybe not even then lol
seed out? can u pick carrots if u plant them to seed? i just thought if plant a seed it becomes carrot, and if u plant a carrots you get the seeds. How did u find those star lox? never seen one. or it is mod?
Thats what i meant by "seeding them out" i may have skimmed over that too fast lol No enemy mod, just the more people on a server the more the enemies scale up.
Dude - bringing tame animals to a fight.......... brilliant
Right haha become the Viking BeastMaster! lol
My camp is currently growing around a cove..You got me thinking of a water base now. Thank you
Big fan of your videos --- especially your build videos, which are fantastic.
Very kind of you :)
So when it comes to portals you should always a portal in and out of the biome foe worst case scenarios haha 😄 only then would you need full gear to retrieve your stuff besides that a bed will suffice (in this applies to more then just crypts)
And about the boats I've never had to retrieve the boat mats away from shore since there is nothing for them to break on out there only weather deterioration. That was main point of that in general. But breaking your boat down is definitely a safe option too tho
Planted veggie seeds never turn to more seeds for me no matter how long I leave them. But if I take them out of the ground after they have grown and then plant them, they turn into seeds.
yeah thats what i meant by "seed out" i may have skimmed over that too fast lol
Yes. Because that’s how it works
Awesome stuff! I always dig around and under the coppermine first.
And i use portals, not beds on the crypts.
portals work, you just have bring more then wood on ur journeys haha
I live in the biome depending on the age to speed up the age, I.e. Live in the dark forest to speed up the bronze age or love in the swamp to speed up the iron age, you can mine and upgrade on site
Where do you find 1 star Lox in Vanilla?
Definitely didn't know about the braziers and cooking.
well... now you know haha :)
Also park your boats adjacent to the shore, not parallel. You can just back right out instead of beaching for 2min while trying to turn out.
I let plants go to seed when i got the game around a year ago and it never happened,
This is either bs or it takes way longer than replanting.
Many times i have been to busy to harvest plants and never have i seen plants got to seed on their own.
I definitely blew through that a little fast 😆 haha that's the process of seeding them out and not using your veg for food.
Don't mind my drunken mistakes lol
Wolves in the forest that's interesting. and Lox Army is also something I will need to try.
Question to 6:42 how can u dig that deep?
i feel like i can only dig 30% of this deep and then there is now way to get deeper.
Is this a mod or am i doing something wrong?
no mods for depth, just depends on where you're at. some points the water level/bedrock can be higher. I'll use the free fly camera to scope it out before hand
yea it really depends on exact location, some deposits could be like 1/3 into bedrock some can be dug quite deep under them like 3+ walls under lowest bottom spikes.
and its not 6'ish deposits in one place, most i found was like 3 relatively close , whole upper part and all below it is just ONE deposit but it looks smooth on top but quite spiky from underneath, aso if i can dig under then i do it will be easier, i dig deep shaft till hit bedrock and dig perimeter then all under deposit, once nothing keeps it there then its just one/few hit from pickaxe and whole deposit pops, but its not always posible to dig under all pars due to uneven terain and in turn uneven bedrock
i just started and new nothing of them things so thankyou
Just build a gate on top of the crypt. And a chest. Then you can just pop back home and get your boosted rested bonus at your palatial estate lol.
Best Valheim content on the site. Thank you and keep up the good work!
Your too kind, I appreciate it :)
Deer don't breed if you aren't close to them
Also how do you build that far on water without your stuff collapsing?
Tamed animals don't cover all the spawns in the biome so the point remains the same :) and find an island and rise the ground off it, that's 3 little islands that I connected right there haha
It is possible to use a cart as a sort of floating device, a vwry slow one, but it allows your character and camera to remain "standing" while also lowering your camera enough to be able to snap underwater structures much deeper than normal. You should try it some time. Can make some awesome docks and piers this way.
I didn’t know that you fell off the work when you reach the end of the map. I found out the hard way lol
when digging for stone or copper or silver i just excavate the whole thing from the outside in. break the bits anchoring into the ground that you cant dig anymore and the whole thing pops
Thats what seeding them out means lol poor choice of words I have came to find out :) I definitely skimmed over that a little too fast
There is such an easier way to avoid all raids on the ground 😂
I didn't think about burying campfires to prevent spawning. how far apart?
20m is what I usually do
Man the copper one going to test that tonight
If you are in a solo game digging up the entire node of copper is pointless. Just do what you can get to with little effort and move to the next. It's less time consuming.
materials always drop, there is no such thing as mats not droping from boat, they just slide to the botom of the ocean if theres a slope.
its defintely not designed to not drop mats but it DEFINTELY happens... i have well over 2k hrs in this game since launch day and have lost nails and bark multiple time. Bugs are a thing lol
Wait, there are starred Loxes?
I am assuming he used a dev command , cause to my understanding there are no starred loxes
no mods, just after we got 10+ people on the server. the enemies scale up per how many ppl are on the server.
How do you have such massive builds, do you use a build anywhere mod or do you just build a workbench everytime you run out of range ?
Tip 1 was about sending out your veggies... wrong. Had to stop there
ive never broken anything and not gotten full mats back, not sure where your getting that from...
From the mats that disappear when Ive broken down my ships lol 😆
Of course I've been playing dedicatedly since release and had plenty of chances for this to happen so somethings are just bugs not coded into the game.
Great work! Of course I have Never done none of these bad things, I am perfect! ;)
Of course not lol
Definitely….
5:00 i tested and 20 2 star wolfes can kill uagluth before yagluth can even attacl
oooof i didnt know about the veins
Any valheim players with a character named Hootsman? Bonus points if your world name is Unst.
No hootsman lol and I'm not telling the seed just yet haha
I saw a Volhad grave!! Wonder how good ol Vol is doin?
Yeah I didn't remember him being there the first Yag fight but obviously he was lol
But hopefully hes doing good tho
Had no idea abt the copper veins
lox one stars does not exist on the game you had to spawn them with log^^
How do u have a one star Lox? I've never seen a one or two star Lox
The guy is using mods; he’s also wrong about 90% of his info, legitimately a trash youtuber.
How did you find a 1 star lox?!
do you have a more in depth video of how to build over water?
Valheim pimp, serving it up. Mad respect
how rare is a 1 2 star lox?
how do you build that big a structure on water? thats massive.
Heres the vid where i did it :) ruclips.net/video/nls1ekNevHE/видео.html
Are people still playing this? I can never find servers
For sure they are, we have a healthy active community you can join. Join the Guilded in the description and there you go haha 😄
how’d u build on water like that
Just by raising the ground up, heres the vid when i did it ruclips.net/video/nls1ekNevHE/видео.html
1 star loxes never seen em unless from a mod but hey no mods
First of all you spawned unnaturally strong Lox to put up a fighting chance against Yag, starred Lox don't exist naturally, also most of these are great tips with terrible application, how many longship materials have you caused people to lose? Pushing the ships into the ocean as you hit them, also just dig a moat, only requires you to beat the first boss and boom literally all but 2 events are no longer problems, instead of sailing trying to find a small part of land you can abuse in the middle of the ocean....
Yo veal scala Pini
Ashland raids?
The smell of sulfur in the air, that brings surtlings with Ashlands weather effect.
@@UnknownFactions Got it.
I would call these beginner tips
Bump.
start by not playing solo. its a joke. i cant see the draw. second boss is on a while nother planet, which you cant kill it. garbage.
second? you mean tall walking bonfire just waiting to be lit lol? fire is the trick for him. and also finding solid enouth cover from his projectile launch, it can and will break trees but rocks can take some hits until becoming too small for cover. i done solo eiktir (lightning deer) elder (dendroid) and bonemass (the stinky bone pile)
Literally “tips” and he doesn’t understand how seeds work….
