As always, an excellent video! Hiroo Kirino aka Nadao Kirino was a very underrated actor who was in several Toho visual effects movies, oddly enough playing characters who were subordinate to Jun Tazaki, such as GORATH, KING KONG VS. GODZILLA and THE WAR OF THE GARGANTUAS. His last genre appearance might have been in DESTROY ALL MONSTERS in 1968. Most likely, he was among the many contract players that Toho let go in the early 1970s.
Happy for Pencil Leopard because Keronia is actually Kaijin. So that's mean this video should be call as Kaijin Bio more than call as Kaiju Bio attempt keronia has great intelligence, similar size with human, able to change size (like alien call as Seijin in Ultraman franchise and like villain from Super Sentai turned their Kaijin into a giant size to fight Megazord) and Keronia have their spaceship (in this episode). So rare to see Ultraman fight the Kaijin like Keronia in this franchise. Despite i not fan of Kaijin, but i still want to say hopefully this Kaijin, Keronia manage to reappear in ANY Reiwa Ultraman series. Oh, i really can't wait to watch the ACTUAL Kaiju Bio soon, Dorako 🤩! Fun video class that i can enjoy, professor. See you in The Complete History of Dorako Bio, professor 🤗.
I have a guess that the name may have come from corona or corolla of a flower. I’m not too familiar with plant terminology but after looking it up those words refer to parts of a flower - Corolla (botany): the petals of a flower, considered as a unit - Corona: a ring of tissue arising from the corolla or perianth of a flower and standing between the perianth lobes and the stamens. could be wrong but its my best guess
There are a lot more Ultra Monsters to cover up like Gyango, the monster created from a wish granting meteor, Kangoon, the monster who eats coins, The Giant, Boltan, Dada, Alien Piccola, Telesdon, and Veron. I had watched Ultraman Rising and I loved it very much! I had recognized two monsters in that movie, Goron and our pal, Pigmon!
To the best of my Google-fu, Kero is also an Incan word referring to a wooden drinking container [the South American connection] and -nia is either japanese for "[subject] must" or a Slavic suffix with a female connotation denoting a place name. So it would mean something like imposing barrel or motherland of the cups. You might to be onto something with kero also being frog. Many decorative plants have names that end in -nia, so in the same way Gojira is "gorilla whale" it could be "frog flower"
@@woundedzilla1517 Trust me.... @@voronOsphere hey that’s your opinion bro and you can have it. Personally I’m just here for history and stats. It’s why I like wikizilla, it’s just straightforward and too the point tells you everything you need to know about the Kaiju and ends. But that isn’t to say I don’t enjoy the professor’s content, I quite enjoy it as it covers a similar yet different neash and has enough of his own personality to the point I’d say both the professor and wikizilla can cohabitate. I just personally don’t care for the skits because I’m here for information first and funny haha second.
'Who Goes There?' was a short story by sci-fi writer John W. Campbell, Jr. (1910-1971), published in 1938 under the pseudonym Don A. Stuart. (After his wife Donna.) The story featured a hostile shape-changing alien terrorizing an American research base in Antarctica. So the Ultraman episode of the same title must've been partly inspired by that story, except that Keronia took over Goro's body in the Amazon jungle 20 years before, in the episode. I don't know whether WGT was ever translated into Japanese. 🪴
a random, never-seen-again Ultra kaiju having ties to "The Thing" is something that I never, EVER would've known, awesome stuff!
Is that real?
@@emirbermani6160 1:19
Yeah I never thought he would think of Keronia in a few years!
Technically it's a kaijin not a kaiju
“Babe wake up, a new toku Professor video just dropped!”
A cool thing to note, the fight choreography between Ultraman and Keronia was an influence for Shin Ultraman's Ultraman vs Alien Mefilas fight
That’s sick
Ah yes the underground civilization of plant monsters that suck blood. I love this kaiju so much
Now I can’t wait to see dorako

Love this! Great fun as usual. Keep up the awesome work.
Wonder if Keronia himself was inspired by the original The Thing Movie since The Thing in that movie was a plant alien monster too
Excellent biography about Keronia

When I first saw that episode, I thought he looked like Oscar from Sesame Street, "With fashion by Grinch of Whoville." Tom Servo.
This is also a rare exception to the tendency of carnivorous plant monsters to be good singers.
3:41 AMOGUS
Keronia is my favorite monster from the original series. I wish he’d make a comeback, he was cool & unique.
