Hands down one of the best videos I've seen for automotive. Terse and relevant.
Thank you so much
Thank you for a very informative video, as I'm about to do the same on mine and I just needed to *see* it done to confirm my assumptions on procedure.
As Nina & Joe Pierce mentioned, you still need an alignment. What you did by matching the length of the old/new tie rods IS important, though. It gets you close enough to where you were so that you can still drive it to the alignment shop!
All in all, good job.
That was the easiest video to understand thank you
Thanks for the video! I have an 03 dodge ram 2500 5.9 cummins so these videos helps alot. Keep them coming.
You bet, thanks 😁
Thank you brother
Stupid question. Do you need to remove the outer TR to replace the inner one?
Definitely not a stupid question...you can more than likely leave the outer tie rod connected to the knuckle and just spin the inner rod all the way out of it before removing the inner from the steering rack
thanks
Great video. However, after changing tie rods, you always need an alignment. It is impossible to eyeball the tie rods and keep the vehicle in correct alignment. Alignment machines are accurate to within a thousandth of an inch or so.
It's close enough to get them to the shop for an alignment!
I thought you might cover both inner and outer?
Also have you done ball joints on this truck? I have a 2wd 3500 that I'm getting ready to do all of that stuff. Thanks
We did the inner and outer tie rod ends, we just didn't cover both sides of the truck, unless I'm confused 😂...I think my Dad did do the ball joints, but I don't have footage 😣
@@Snipeoff yes you did. My mistake.
Did you put locktite on the threads of the inner tie rod where it threads into the steering rack?
If I'm remembering correctly, the ones we got already had locktite applied, so yes 👍
@@Snipeoff OK thanks.
Just do the whole control arm assembly if it's just upper ball joints, it was super easy to figure out on your own
My GOD that background music is annoying and completely unnecessary! Otherwise a good video.
Sowy 😅😂
You didn't show replacing the inner tie rod.
