After owning a Westfalia, I dreamed up this camper for my Tacoma for about $500. It has dedicated storage compartments for boards, outdoor living gear, kitchen supplies, clothes, water, food and more.

Hi there, I saw your vid. I've been truck camping since the mid 80's. Back when rainbows were black & white. Here's what I've learned & I'll pass them on to you.
1) Get stuff you need at a camping store for backpacking. It's small, compact, & light weight.
2)Get splash guards for your truck. It'll help keep you & your rig clean. They work. I know.
3) When parking for the night, park headlong into the wind. That way if a storm comes you won't have to worry about a side wind ripping off your camper shell. Plus, if anything comes bouncing towards the truck, since you have a slimmer profile, it might miss you. If it does hit, the front of the truck is reinforced.
4) Use bug spray on the interior doors & windows/ screens openings to help keep bugs out. Use wasp & hornet spray around & on your tires to help keep critters out. Basically, all points of contact on the ground.
5) An inch is a lot of room. Learn how to stack & get used to sand & dirt. Use floor mats to put your shoes on too
6)Air out your sleeping area every morning or often. In an enclosed space the air gets stale & it will smell like feet & assholes. I know this from being in an 80 man berthing when I was in THE NAVY!
7)Use a small fan to circulate the air in your sleeping area. This will help prevent hot & cold spots from forming & help prevent condensation & mold & mildew from forming.
8)Use a solid hooded sweatshirt. Draw the hood tight when you sleep to help encapsulate body heat. It can double as a pillow/ dirty clothes holder/ gear carrier.
I hope this helps. Great vid, thanks for sharing. Drive safe. 🤠
One of the best topper camper set ups I've seen! Nice!
Dude... I've been researching Tacoma bed camper set ups, I'm so glad i stumbled upon yours. Thanks for taking the time to upload and make the video. I currently have a roof top tent that I love, but isn't going to work for cross country travel and stealth camping. Great setup, I'll definitely take your build into thought when the time comes. Stay Fresh
Excellent design and execution!! 👍
Pretty cool for a solo set up. If you do go off-road in dusty conditions you may want a bedrug system or use positive pressure. The composite Tacoma bed lets a ton of dust inside.
Has to be the best setup I've seen. A detailed video on how you built everything will be greatly appreciated :)
Yep agree with Jeff. If not the nicest one. Lot of time in that and thaught.
You did a great job on this build!! I have seen professional big money builds that were not designed and layed out as nice and functional as what you did!!! thumbs up! Thanks for sharing it! You did perfect. Could not have designed it better myself
Great use of space and well thought out! Build quality looks great too! Thank you for posting up!
This build is pretty much what I had in my head, thank you for the share, the ideas keep flowing.
Nice job - especially using the side flip windows.
Totally dig the topper on your truck. Very intuitive design. Definitely inspired, thanks for sharing.
Well done. Neat topper with access from the outside. Like the pull out camper stove and storage are. Well thought out.
Fantastic setup! One of the best I've seen. Thanks for sharing!
Haven't seen one done quite like yours with the super convenient window access. Very well thought out.
Best setup I’ve seen yet. Never thought about side window flip ups. Thanks for the ideas brotha 🤙🏽
Well planned and built!
Very well thought out and practical!
Wow that's the best I've seen.

Nice setup. Definitely got some ideas for mine and I like the short and sweet video.
Ditto, re: the short video...less is best?

Very cool man,nice nice,👍👍👍
Cool setup brother
Thanks Jon! Appreciate it. Cheers!
Wow that’s awesome...Outstanding job.
Nice job bud!
Those drawer slides where did you get them? How much weight can they hold and how long do they extend out? Great setup I am looking to do something similar but hard to find those slides.
What?! No construction tools?😀
I say that because I allways have to compromise the kind of coolness
yours has, because I always have to figure a way to blend the two.
You have a lot of cool ideas in that puppy.
You must have been thinking:" I'll
Give them something they've never seen before." (Russell Crowe, in the Gladiator)🖒🖒👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Nice job and yes, very inspiring. Thanks for the great tour.
awesome
How long is your drawer rails? I imagine they are industrial and wondering what the length of them were.
would love to see a diy video on that sliding draw!
Good job
great use of space, thanks for sharing
Nice setup!
Very nice
What size yeti is that? Looks like it fits nicely in the back with the rear seat folded down.
Thats a nice setup man! I'll be considering this when I do mine. I'm looking for a good sleeping quarter when I'm on the road with kayak fishing tourneys
Great project. You've mentioned that plans would be uploaded.. can you point me to them ? Many thanks.
please tell us about the drawer sliders. they extend a lot which is great.
What is the brand of cap you have? I have been looking at the ARE but haven't been able to find pricing for those side windows
I love it.
where do you hide your bong?
That is outstanding. Nice work.
Building out my 2005 Tundra. what did you use for the cargo net securement? How much weight have you put in it? thanks boss.
You should upload more videos bro.
Epic video man! Where are you uploading the plans?
I like the central bed . always thought side location but this is interesting . And the outside access means standing and getting instead of crawling in onto the bed and dragging everything in and out that way . ARE contractor ?
Hi. love the set-up. What sliding drawer tracks are you using?
Sweet uppers! ...& killer integration w fold-up windows. Well appointed for siestas (um, cough), waiting out tides or storms ie surfing/fishing. Decking out my FX4 Ranger soon. Tyvm...
thanks for the video, I am building a stealth astro van and will use some of your ideas
Hey David! Would love to see your astro van! I just built out a Sprinter :)
I am jealous. Jk.
I really love your setup man 🙌🏻amazing.
Hey dude, awesome build. Quick question. How did you attach the cargo net to the roof of the truck?
Badass
I like it.
how did you hang your overhead cargo net?
I wish we could get the long box in the trd offroad in Canada.
Sweet setup. Is the pull out drawer on rollers?
Do you have airbags or any suspension modification to help with the load?
Does the goal zero pull power constantly from the 12v, or only when the truck is on?
Love yout topper .....how did u fasted the net up?
More vids!!! How is everything going? What's it look like at night? This thing is a beast.
I lived part time out of the truck camper for 6+ months. I now built out a 4x4 Sprinter van! Should I do a video of that? Cheers!
@@reformlife171 I'm speechless. That's inspiring. I've only dreamt of doing such things, so to see this in motion would be amazing! A 4x4 sprinter van! I've seen vlogs made from much less. I hope that you do share a bit of your creations and adventures with the world. You are awesome. I'm glad you exist and are doing so well.
Where can I get the plans ? Great set up
Nice
Really nice job...
