  • MOUNTAIN WILDERNESS TOUR SWEDEN | WILDLIFE in EUROPE Wilderness Remote Tour SAREK NATIONAL PARK
    Sarek National Park is one of the most mythical areas in the Swedish mountains. Sarek is famous because of its wildlife and especially the great elks. It’s also one of few areas without marked trails and cabins. There are only bridges in a very few places so it’s an area for interesting wilderness remote tours where you have to be totally independent. What you can carry is what you have.
    This week in September 2020 Matti went in to Sarek on a mountain wilderness tour with a small group of photographers and wildlife enthusiasts. This is the season when autumn meets the winter. The climate is challenging and it can get really rough sometimes. But it’s also the best time go on a moose safari to see the great moose. It’s also the time to be able to see the northern lights.

    (If you don’t want such a rough trekking trip weather-wise as in the movie then you should choose the tour in August instead.)

    How extremely special, to have the opportunity to watch and photograph a moose for such a long period of time, and he was so relaxed. 😊 like he took a little nap for a moment.
    Your comment around 38:15 reminded me of Morton Hilmer, wildlife photographer from Denmark. His goal is to capture photos without the animal even knowing he's around. His photos and stories are well worth watching - as are yours!
    Thank you for who you are and your respect for nature and, of course, other people.

      I'm interested in this... I really want to make better and better videos. Is it because I don't use a tripod probably or because I don't use a gimbal? I had to try to solve this... sometimes I think it's less shaking with my action camera (Osmo Action) than with my big Sony A7iii. I probably need a lens that have stabilisator in combination with the stabilisator in the camera... Hmmm...
      Do you have a big TV screen?

    Haven't you ever heard of a "pee bottle?" I use a collapsible Nalgene (R) bottle marked with bright tape and reflective tape so I won't mistake it for a water bottle and it's easy to find with a headlamp.

    • @JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA
      @JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA  3 года назад +1

      Yes... I have heard about per bottle... but... really?!?!? Pee in your sleeping bag. 🤣
      Pee bottles are really good but I can't use that. There is a kind of voice inside my head that stops me from doing that. I know... it's silly... but I can't.
      🤣
      /Matti

    • @LA_Viking
      @LA_Viking 3 года назад +1

      @@JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA Actually I get out of my sleeping bag before I use the bottle...but I don’t have to leave the tent. I tell newcomers to pick a bottle with a wide opening to make it less likely of missing. For females, there are any number of “adapters” available for purchase (example: Sanifem) which allows ladies to void urine without dropping their trousers which is hugely important in heavy mosquito/black fly country or when it’s raining or snowing horizontally. In that case they would simply direct the stream into the bottle.

    • @234i9
      @234i9 7 месяцев назад

      @@LA_Viking I dunno man, id rather just take a few extra mosquito/black fly bites and not have to pee in a bottle.. :;P

    That guy is Way too close to that moose. With tiny little trees in between. Very dangerous! He's a wild animal. If there was a female around, he would have charged! I've had one charge me and we had a 10 foot fire going. He didn't care. He circled around us and we were behind big trees. Moose are huge animals. Getting that close is dangerous. Also, if you have bears around, no food in the tent, no cooking in the tent, unless you want a bear visit later. I camp a lot, this looks like a wonderful hike, but the wild animals are not being taken into consideration. In Grand Lake, Colorado, the Mayor got head butted by a moose and died.

      I would definitely never sleep with the food in US.
      In Sweden I can definitely sleep together with my food without problem. Our bears are hunted for ages. All brown bear that haven’t been shy is killed… Now all bears are shy. It’s absolutely no problem!!!
      The elk. It’s the same. You should have respect but you don’t need to be afraid. We never get the elks that attack trains like you got in Canada for example. :-)
      But… always keep an eye open and be alert and careful.
      Our animals in Sweden isn’t as dangerous as the once you got.
      /Matti
