- We are RV camping on the central coast of California and departing Big Sur. The PCH Highway 1 is closed due to a rock slide so we are taking an alternate route up Nacimiento Fergusson Road, which many people do not think is an advisable route.
Drones are awesome and you guy definitely know what you're doing with yours. You make your vlogs look like "big budget/adventure/documentary/fun/exciting" entertainment! Great vid as always.
The look on your wife’s face as you said “we’re going to go do it” (taking that difficult route on Naciemento Road) was great: Her eyes were saying, “Honey, are we REALLY SURE we wanna go that way?” (LOL) great video! And the drone footage is EXCELLENT!
Oh and thanks for all the videos. I planed to take off for two years and go RVing but no way am I doing that now. Your videos plus countless others prove that I would be to restless.
Nac ferg road washed away in 12 locations due to heavy rains and mudslides making it completely impassable after last years dolan fire burned everything there were no roots to hold back the topsoil resulting in much devastation. You are lucky to have the experience.
There's something about sitting in an RV vs a car when driving these California mountain roads. What is fun in a car becomes white knuckled in an RV. Very nice video.
Did that ride on my old BMW k100 around 30 years ago. It was a graded dirt road then and just slightly more of an adventure. Beautiful views.
Thats a wild road with elk and beautiful terrain but windy roads.
It is an amazing road! I especially like it when there is a fog bank along the coast and you rise above the clouds.
Great road trip with great scenery. Love the drone shots. Look like a lot of fun. Happy trails.
We lived up at Lake Nacimiento for one year while my husband worked in King City. The base went through periods of time where they had massive training going on, day and night. It literally sounded like a war was going on nearby! Some of the explosions would shake the house, and the sounds waves would ripple across the sides if there hills. We also would see a lot of awesome aircraft. It was a very unique experience-once your nerves got used to used to it. I loved it up there.
Loved this.
Please share your music. So soothing.
A privilege. Because every man is proud of his gun. I've been enjoying some of these last few videos of areas that are somewhat close and only barely know of their existence.
Your editing skills have really gotten good. Nice video!
Dear I AM Watching your videos since long time and i really like your way of talking and explaining RV Life . I am your big Fan from SAUDI ARABIA
Sophia Anatolios Walikum musalam thanks for your kind reply and giving me few minutes for my Small message you had no idea how much I am happy to receive your kind reply and great . Good to see you both smiling and travel around the USA and share nature beauty
We have traveled that road, it was awesome and all we did was say..."wow!" Did it on the back of a Harley too....thanks for sharing and those memories we have.
"That noisy ass river" LOL
Awesome! I actually just drove up and around a month or two ago from Santa Barbara to Phiffer. Im kicking my self now. Hope all is well!
Another great vid....river noise reminded me when I first stayed at our time share on the beach of Maui.... asked my husband turn down the waves at night...lol
The campground on the left at 5:50 is Kirk Creek, one of the most beautiful camping spots on the California coast, though it can be windy. Was there in February with my granddaughter.
We are visiting from the UK in June & seen that parts of highway 1 were closed so I might take this route instead. Doesn't look anything too extreme anyway! Cheers for the info
It’s a nice alternative and definitely not that extreme.
Drone shots are just amazing. Thanks for the nice video.
That was some pretty amazing videos. Drones are amazing in the right hands. Wow!!! Well done indeed!!
Great drone shots following the RV. Must have been lots of setup and edit time involved. The effort is appreciated. Still like your vid style. Great content, Kudos! I view all the other "popular" RV blogs and I enjoy yours the most. Very down to earth, it flows well. Please add some more site and area tours and include the location in the title so that it is searchable for more hits. 24' Thor 22e here full solar and many other mods. K2LED
Some stunning stuff today.......
Awesome footage...way to go...
I used to catch crawdads in that river,
later in the summer when the water is lower. After a stop at Pismo when the clams were plentiful and easy to get we’d make clamdad chowder....
such a trooper! "well we are getting some good footage" - "Good!"
Gorgeous footage!!!
Amazing campground and drone footage!
I've thought rivers were load too when we were camped too close. I've only done that drive once, but it was very much worth the extra miles and time. Nice tour of the mission.
That's cute you went there when you were dating and now are back. Funny how life works like that!
Your best drone footage thus far! Very well done and I hope to see more like it in the future.
Incredible drone footage and the music matches the vibe. Are you headed to Pismo Coast Village by any chance? I'm one of your fans and I will be there for 5 days but I have a trailer now instead of an RV.
I have harvested some beautiful bucks at Hunter Ligget. Back before all the rich people turned it all into Vineyards I used to hunt off of Geneseo Rd. just east of Paso Robles off of Hwy. 46 and the hunting was great. To the good old days. Jim
Paso sucks now. Moved out in 2000. Never moving back to Paso or Cali.
I get your drift, Jim
lol reminds me of a road tip we did in our 33foot rv, you can't go that way we were told. But to turn back was adding half a day to our trip. Looks similar too, but we pushed on and other than a few turns where we couldn't see if anyone was coming towards us we did great. Blasted our horn at most corners.
Lol no pause button on the river. 😄
The river becomes white noise, just like the wind rustling the trees. At some point your brain just ignores it. Anyone who camp knows this...............
looks like I am going on a drive to find the free camping and visit the mission
Cute, but disingenuous. You didn't show footage from the higher elevations where this road is most challenging. My cell navigation directed me to this road recently to cross from the 101 to the 1 to get to Big Sur. I was not familiar with the road and did not have any forewarning of how dangerous this road is. There is no cell service. This was one of the most terrifying experiences of my life, and I was ever so grateful I made it to my destination. It may be appropriate to encourage daredevils to take this road, but all others should know that this road is very dangerous, particularly if you encounter rain and/or fog, as I did. In most places the road is so narrow that two full size cars would not be able to pass. The cliffs are sheer; curves are hairpin and blind; and there are no guardrails--none. Please don't rely solely on this video when making a decision whether to take this road, especially if you have any fear or discomfort with heights.
This road was almost desolate when I traveled it, except for a handful (literally) of other vehicles I encountered during the almost 2-hour trek. Had I driven (or been rammed) off one of the cliffs, I'm not sure anyone would've been the wiser.
I'm sorry but we documented driving Nacimiento Fergusson Road very well.
I was stationed at HUNTER LIGGETT (HUNGRY MAGGOT) in 1976. Hiked over the Los Padres to 101.
Beautiful country.
We were told the same thing but after driving the Mt Washington road this was a breeze .
I wish we could have driven that road when we were on the east coast.
It's a blast..driving down your on the inside and its always entertaining to see the faces of the people driving up. Both hands on the wheel, total focus, very serious faces.
Wow what amazing views!
Some beautiful scenery
Awesome video shots! Would love falling asleep to your “loud” stream.....
1771 old Mission, I didn't know they had them in California then WOW! Older than my house cir 1780.
Nicely done
So enjoy you guys and your videos. Love the music, drone and is it Shelby?
Awesome
# YIKES ...NO GUARD RAILS !
Beautiful video! Love the drone footage, what drone is that?
Love, love, love your video!!!! Very cool!!!
Do you think it would be possible to pull a 34’ 5th wheel on the road???
On Feb 1st, I was wanting take that same road after driving down the coast on Hwy 1 as far as Big Sur. Was told it was a horrid road in poor condition and those I spoke to recommended driving back up to Monterey instead. From the footage you shot, it would have been no problem in my GMC extended van. I used to live on the north coast of BC and have driven on roads like that may times! Rats!!!!
Hey, question on towing a trailer
... possible for a 30' ? ! thx
?? How do you do the drone flying while moving??
On this trip we had two vehicles.
Love your Vlogs! I need me a DJI drone and your skills! SICK!!👍
very cool
Mama mi ma that’s a small RV for two.
nice if you got rivers and creeks and lakes and ocean and a fishing license you got fisheng
just drove it in my 40' Rambler and towing. Only wish some other people knew how to drive before they enter this road.
Doesn't that noisy river just lull you off to sleep
Trout?
So you had HER drive the Rn, while you drove that little car and went on and on about how easy it was?
Why the car ?
To make the most of our promotional RV trip on the Central Coast, we borrowed Grandma’s car.
you two are so cute
all I got to say is....................alrite alrite alrite !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
there are a number of roads in ca that you should NEVER take a rv or a trailer on. yes you can maybe fit. but you will not have much "fun".
