holy shit that sequence at 10:10 was insane, ex dp through fireball, the anti air ex tatsu on the neutral jump and the crosscut dp on tokido trying to jump tatsu out of the corner.
Insane match, playing against Tokido is basically like playing a God level Shin Akuma. It took everything Kenpi had...still I got the impression that if Kenpi played as aggressively as Tokido, against Tokido, he'd have won 3-1 maybe 3-0. When Kenpi pressed he really dominated those stretches.
Great battle between these two and a great upload 👍🏾. Ken will always be my no.1 even though they have watered him down profusely in STV, but his best gains as it has always been with Ken is when you play aggressively with him, no other player can give me that feeling.
Kenpi vs. Tokido's Akuma is one of the best battles. Sometimes Kenpi tries things in the middle of a fight and winds up losing rounds. Goes back to his norm and wins. But if he stops that, no one can beat him at all.
The only thing I ovserved, is that: - Tokido usually evade throw by backing a little, specially when Ken is in the corner; missed twice the throw like this - When mid kick confirms Ken has no way to get closer; lost two chances or three. But both are very strong.
Got2LoveLife Don’t think Tokido “fell apart” at all. Kenpi pulled out all stops, executed full CA and ex triggers and gambled on an all-or-nothing wake up dp that paid off. Even so, Kido still made a comeback but just fell short (thanks to the wake up dp towards the end). Even the best can lose a single round against a determined and skilled player. This wasn’t Tokido playing his competition level best mind you.
Watching Kenpi fritter away another big lead in the first match made me think “oh good gawd, here we go again”. I mean his last meeting against Tokido (another FT3) is probably one of the definitive examples of the shortcomings of highly ranked online players vs pros - inability to finish (or counter a determined stand), lack of technical skill (yes, I mean that) especially comboing into CA finish, and above all, clearly inferior mental fortitude in all phases of the opening, mid and end games. But Kenpi did seem different this time, he clearly learned some lessons from his last encounter versus Tokido (which he’s probably still kicking himself over) and made adjustments. He came out firing instead of scared (apart from chip damage, Kenpi was perfected by Tokido in his opening round last time, a clear sign of nerves). He still couldn’t finish and gave away a big lead (again), but he re-grouped, unlike last time when, with match point and a huge lead, Kenpi inexplicably decided to turtle and invited into his house one of the greatest comeback artists in the game. Interesting adjustments as well. For example, Kenpi’s clearly found a viable counter to Kido’s short range fireball game, finishing a couple rounds in spectacular fashion by DP’ing right through Kido’s closeup fireballs (SHORYUREPPA!!!). Kenpi did show this last time, but only once and never again. This time, he pulled it off at least 4-5 times, and twice to finish. Kenpi also shut down most of Kido’s throws (a real achievement), unlike last time when, in one comically extended sequence, Tokido threw a clearly unnerved Kenpi what seemed like 4-5 times in a row! Not this time. In the end, Kenpi saw an opening in the final round when he triggered CA early to take a big lead, then in the midst of another as-expected furious comeback by Tokido, Kenpi took a gamble and pulled off a wake up DP to relieve the pressure and gain the space to position himself for a finish. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. That wake up DP was probably the move of the entire fight. Let’s get real, this wasn’t Tokido in prime form, he was handicapping himself a bit (no demon throws, etc. ). Kenpi is still not at pro level (so many frustrating and amateurish moments evident in his gameplay still), but his adjustments to Tokido show real promise. Enjoyed watching this.
Interesting analysis. What's your gaming background/experience? While there's definitely room for improvement, and this wasn't the best Ken I've ever seen, it was *one* of the best Ken's I've ever seen and got me excited for Ken again. Until I saw this, I thought Ken was going to be useless in recent iterations of SF, currently SFV this season for example.
Tletna Kenpi’s shown what’s possible with Ken. As a general statement Ken is still underpowered against characters like Akuma just by sheer dearth of offensive options in comparison (and let’s face it, this game isn’t about defense...). But Kenpi did this time what he did not last time and played to Ken’s strength by utilizing the DP. Kenpi may have used 2x the number of DPs this match compared to the last vs Kido. That’s what won it for him this time. Ken’s potential has become rather tantalizing with this result I think (although don’t hold your breath, the latest patch even further erodes Ken’s power levels).
It wouldn't be canon then since this takes place before the events of SF3 before Sean learned to fight. SF6 however should be a direct sequel to 3 so he might come back then.
Tokido, arguably the best player in the world, using what a lot of people consider the best character in the game... Just goes to show you that Street Fighter comes down to reads, skill, and reaction, not the character you're playing as.
eidolontrance Tokido clearly not playing his best here. And denying there’s an advantage to playing a character like Akuma with all the additional offensive options at his disposal, is false. Sure the advantage isn’t insurmountable, but it’s an advantage nonetheless. Isn’t that pretty much the definition of unfair? Akuma’s op is something that anyone interested in game balance has every right to complain about.

I was losing my shit when I seen those
never saw ANYONE do that before...

Risky asf tho
I've never seen anyone use the Dragon Punch the way Kenpi does. Impressive!!
16:10 the moment when Kenpi did like a fake run to bait Tokido into a grab and then punished the crap outta him.. AMAZING!!!
I didn't realize how insane and good Ken was until watching this guy play with him so now i envy Ken.
10:18 that spinning round house was awesome after the fireball..

The work that has to be put in here is ridiculous

That first round of the first game is a good example of what separates a pro and online gamer.
That reaction dp is insane especially going against akumas projectile speed and recovery. Kenpi is one amazing player
kenpi has insane reaction and solid fundamentals, he makes ken top tier
had to comment. AMAZING
How did you customize the background of the stage so it says "Ten" on the screens?
That was an entertaining match!!

Tokido isnt playing at tournament level this set bro
Ken buffs please. This Kenpi dude is incredible but has to work so insanely hard to do anything with Ken's options.
TRUE
BS
Great match and very enjoyable to watch.
15:40
15:47 an escape from the blue hadulen or a deliberate setup.....only tokido could tell.
Nice ken from kenpi 🔥

Top tier OP commentary. When are we gonna hear you on stream lol? You clearly have a passion for this
mens rea you should start up a youtube and do FGC play-by-plays... Analysing high level fights and pointing out the good and the bad

Kenpi is the master of DP
Good match 🤘
Intense match , very good player this kenpi.
Ken shoryu ken inflict so little damage compared to akuma and sagat go shoryu and tiger uppercut
Best Match Ever!!
How come the creators haven't bring Sean back
That would be cool to see him

Love me some Kenpi Senpai
Tokido lost at least two or three opportunities to end the battle in the end. You can see that he was very nervous...
Best fight ever!!
Yes more tokido
17:13 should have done shun Goku satsu.
0:28 ; 0:38 WHAT?!? XD
Ken is probably the best character on here
Kenpi too sick
3:43
gg
yes one worth of beating tokido. lo
I would love to play against kenpi.he would destory me haha
Kenpi make us Ken players very proud
chris T still want a ken's buff to be good. just get to work
Let's be honest here...
Kenpi's basically a throw/shoryuken/fireball spam, but he should go to tournaments, he's pretty good
dem both are strong player,
this time, top-a-nga get ass kicked
Ken and Ryu are good but akuma feels like they added way too much hits in his moves.
Kenpi-sama......
Ken the best !!!!
Kenpi the best player ever

How is he number one if he's rank 17?
So the 16 people before him dont use ken...
Ranking 17
That dp damage is bullshit for ken
Send kenpi to evo!
TOMBI
Tokido body him in the first round
I am better than both
Combined even! We all know you.
