Hi and thanks for checking out the video. Unfortunately, the training time from Open Water through Public Safety Diver took a full nine days. Even editing it down to just the highlights would be many hours of video, and it would only touch on the info new public safety divers need to know. I can try to help with understanding the process and hopefully you'll be able to become a member of a dive team and get training from a local PSD instructor. There were no certification pre-requisites. For this group, many of them were not certified scuba divers. A couple of them already were open water certified. We went through Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver and Public Safety Diver Certifications over an eight day intense training program. Their open water bookwork was done online and all of these were PADI certifications. We did have a couple people not complete training due to comfort level under water and an ear clearing issue.
This training was done on the east coast of Wisconsin with some dives in Lake Michigan and other dives in inland lakes. Most of our training ended up being in the Sheboygan and Manitowoc county areas of Wisconsin. Thanks for checking it out. :-)
