- 55 players are now nominated for the 11 spots in the FIFPro World XI team of the year as 15 forwards join the already-revealed five goalkeepers, 20 defenders, 15 midfielders.

There is really only one spot for the attackers because two of those spots are reserve by messi and ronaldo

Ibra should get a place just as Alaba.
Then I think Schweinsteiger or Iniesta will take the last place in the midfield. Özil and Robben are outsiders.
The toughest choise is probably the CB next to Thiago Silva. Kompany, Ramos, Hummels and Dante can all get a place. It's hard to know who, though.

The Fifa award ceremony has gotten a lot better and it reminds me of the Academy awards. They can still do a lot of things to make things a lot better in Fifa such as bringing back the Ballon d'or for the Fifa's best and world player of the year for men and women. I really seriously think that they should give awards to players who play for each continent in the sport. I am in favor of the Olympic games having the senior teams instead of Under 23 teams and in favor of a creation of a Under 23 World Cup in its place for the youth teams. Making the Olympics a very important competition equal to the World Cup would not take away prestige from the major event since the World Cup has a lot more teams. I would love to see a Third special extra time with a : Golden Goal, Silver Goal, Bronze Goal for 15 minutes being with the first five worth a golden goal, next five minutes a silver goal worth 2 goals and last 5 minutes a Bronze goal worth 1 goal to avoid Penalty Kicks in the process. I am also in favor of Fifa keeping the Fifa Confederations Cup tournament alive and that they make a world ranking for clubs and not just national teams as the IFFHS has done. If Fifa does this the game will be a lot better and more exciting and will increase the competitive level world wide for both club and national teams in both the men and women's game respectively for soccer-football.

What do they go by when they are choosing players? It sounds like a popularity contest more than anything when players like Drogba and Gerrard, who are the end of their careers, make the list. I am surprised they did not nominate Samuel Eto'o , Henry and Del Piero.
