Definitely think I’m gonna get the v7 in burgundy once I’m ready to sink the money on a 5 string, that bass is gorgeous and it’s a sire so it obviously sounds just as good
I own 3 of these basses (including a fretless), and they are all killer. My main gigging basses now. I'm also a lefty, and NOBODY makes an active Jazz bass for us this good at this price point. Buy them!
@@suikerpapas7830 Definitely Sire. You get way more for the money, particularly active 3 band circuitry, though you can also switch to passive as well. Plus, they also come in several options for lefties, standard J or vintage (V7 vintage), which features 70's bridge PUP placement, black block inlays, etc. More finish options too.
@@MrHattrick63 It is fairly heavy compared with other basses but it's still fine (Squier CVs are a bit heavier). I can play with it standing up without any problems and without any back problems. The ash versions are lighter than the alder versions so that is something to consider (I have a 5 string with ash body). Try it out if you can at a store or buy it online if the store has a good return policy. For some these basses are too heavy and for others they are just right. If you already know you want a lightweight bass then look at Yamaha and Ibanez.
I bought a 5 string Sire P7 however I had quality issues with mine. The fretwork was bad, my pickup was loose, the knobs were not well placed and this made it hard to turn the tone/volume and other stacked knobs. So I definitely did not have a good experience of playing right out of the box. I mean sure I did play it but it was frustrating with fret buzz, and the poorly made knobs. However, after taking it to a shop to get it properly setup and getting the fretwork fixed, it played beautifully. I got my tuning set to EADGC instead so I also had the nut changed. The preamp is a beast and I do hope that now that they're in 2nd gen that they have better quality assurance. I also purchased a musician stingray 5 H (BEADG tuning) for a different tone and sound but both of these basses I use for different purposes. I still recommend Sire, but definitely take them to a shop to get looked at in case some additional work can be done. After getting mine setup and adjusted it played like an entirely different instrument. Also I really wish they would change the logo design on the headstock. In my opinion the logo is ugly but that's more of an aesthetic touch. Aside from my experience which may be an outlier I do think these basses are great for their price point. Did anyone else have a similar experience with their Sire bass when receiving it?
Wow, sorry to hear. I bought new, Gen1, P7-5, alder/rosewd. Bit heavy but no issues. Just bought Gen2 V7-5, fretless, ash/maple. Its a B stock but it came shipped looking brand new, no issues.
I asked the same question on another RUclips review. There seems to be a lot of praise about the preamp on the Sire. I have played one in both passive and active settings in a performance and I wasn’t impressed with it especially in passive mode. I will say I was playing the first generation Sire Jazz Bass. I play Fender Jazz deluxe and love the Fender deluxe in passive mode.
you could edit the video and add text to the video so it's easier to check which knob is being manipulated in the "sound test section". I love your reviews but that would make them even better :)
I'm sure it was just an oversight... But it is worth shouting about considering sire offer all the same options for lefties and no up charge not many guitar companies do that!
Question does anyone know if the burgundy 4 string can come with a maple neck instead of rose wood? Also to the guys at Andertons always love your bass videos but was wondering in this Sire review or any of the reviews do you use any effect peddles or just play straight out the amp, be interesting to know? Cheers guys & keep up the good work 👏
Hello how long will the epic deals last because i want to but the chapman rob scallon signature but i dont know if i'll get money in time before it ends but its a great price
I feel it's been VERY much Sire the last year, even new colours makes it a video these days? I'm not interested in them, so would like some more variation. Don't get me wrong, I love the channel, but what about Ibanez? Jackson? ESP? Yamaha? Gibson? Ibanez alone has houndreds of basses, and we almost never see any of them here. You should consider showing a bit more variation... Just my 2 cents... :)

Between Muscians Friends & Sire guitar, The customer service totally horrible. I would love to be enjoying my new guitar but, i have no idea where it is!! And yet they hold my money for it in the form a debit card hold and the bonus is every 10 days they hold twice the amount because a new hold goes on before the old one expires. Horrible!! Neither Sire or Musicians Friends keeps me informed as to what is happening. Both are Terrible, Terrible customer service companies.
I reckon thats the EQ settings - some of the tones when they were cycling through sounded fantastic. Ive borrowed one of these for a few weeks too and again it sounded great with the right EQ dialled in 👌
Hands down the funkiest intro ever on you tube, period. Thanks gentlemen!
Any Bass video from Andertons is an automatic like and watch from me. Colors look fluid, as well as accurate bass tone. Great work!

FINALLY. Sire's colors were holding them back. These look GREAT.
love the burgundy!
Sire stepping up more and more
Great job guys

Which one do you recommend, a V7 or a Fender Player Jazz Bass Made in Mexico?

Have Gen1, P7-5, white, alder/rosewd. Just took delivery of Gen2, V7 fretless 5, green, ash/maple. Very nice. Ive parked my 2 USA made basses for now.
Complaint Ive heard many times is that its to heavy , Is that true ?

the Alder V7's have an ebony fingerboard according to the docs

all our epic deals tend to last until we sell out of the stock - its not really a fixed time promotion. Some sell out in a day, some take weeks....

Burgundy mist - it’s an old standard colour
It is an oddly named color, Burgundy Mist... But that's what Fender named it.
