      Born and raised here lived here most of my life...maybe I was too young to see it cuz I wasn't able to drive around as much but the people here are awful...not sure if its a recent development either or it just comes with a big city, but they're not nearly as welcoming and as friendly as they say they are. The only thing I miss is the real estate...really nice looking new properties...and affordable too...200 to 400k goes much further on the housing market there than compared to other places

    I moved to EP 4 years ago from Baton Rouge and I love it,I've been treated so kindly and gotten so much free stuff from so many people,it's like night and day compared to where I come from, I've never felt safer and had such low cost of living

    Something I've noticed is that college-aged people who like to party are always complaining about how there's nothing to do here and that bigger cities are better. To everyone else, El Paso is home and a solid place to raise a family or retire. I agree with the latter. I am grateful to be living in such a peaceful city and hope that people my age will learn to not take El Paso for granted.

    Very informative video. My family is considering moving to Texas from Canada in the next couple months and El Paso is high on the list. We like the idea of a safer city and in my experience with the Hispanic community they are great people. They remind me a lot like the east coast of Canada where I'm from.
    The economy and housing is a major factor in our decision also, from looking at some of the houses sold/forsale the pricing is superb.

    I lived here all my life but it had changed so much there really isn't much to do hear once you've seen the mountains gone to the lake thats it and then it gets boring. As for jobs they pretty much pay minimum wage and others ask for degrees but the pay is not good prices are high all around so at this point now that I have retired I'm hoping to move looking at other cities in Texas

    • @investwithkenneth

      That's interesting where did you move to? El Paso has some of the lowest cost of living in the entire country. Taxes are relatively high but considering the fact that there's no state tax is something most overlook.

    El paso es una de las ciudades mas seguras que tiene texas, claro que al haber migrantes pues habra uno que otro robo aun asi a comparacion de otros lugares sigue siendo muy segura.
    Esta ciudad es muuy tranquila, para quienes le gusta una ciudad sin bullicio y actividades al aire libre como senderimos y ciclismo, es adecuada para ti. Tiene varios museos y tiene lugares de interes, pocos pero los tiene. Es una ciudad muuuy limpia y hay mucho hispano. Eso si el clima es muy extremo incluyendo los aires pero si soporte vivir en cd juarez puedo soportar vivir en EP.

    property taxes are outrageous and will be a THIRD of your mortgage. Property taxes never go away and often go up. So even if you oay off your house before retiring, you better have enough coming in to pay the property taxes!

    • @Azarathify
      @Azarathify 2 года назад +2

      If you get a house in an older area the property taxes are not high. The appraised value of the home was set a long time ago and the city can only increase the appraised value so much every year.
