I'm from Canada we pay like 3/4 more than what is offered in El Paso. Our housing prices are absolutely crazy, most average families can't afford to buy.
I live in nashville TN but an elpaso native i moved out when i was a kid and now I'm learning about housing and all that and its a huge difference, especially how nashville is not that great of a city to live in but its popular for some odd reason.
That's great news! When you come down shoot me a text my team and I can definitely help you find a rental and show you some of the highlights el paso has to offer.
Keep in mind if fort bliss closes I can't see it happening, but el Paso will fold , very low wages and cost of living is going up ,and el Paso is very greedy tax wise
Well keep in mind El Paso has extremely low cost of living compared to national averages and there's actually many places hiring right now starting at 15-20 an hour for entry level jobs! Obviously the more skilled you are the better it will be.
It came out yesterday that El Paso is more expensive than some places in New York City which living here is not good we have such a high property tax it’s not fair since income is so low
El impuesto a la propiedad es definitivamente un factor en la mayoría de los casos, pero dependiendo del área que elija, ¡puede ahorrar mucho en el impuesto a la propiedad!

Cost of living cheaper in El Paso? I didn't see that at all in this video. I am from El Paso living in Austin. What you explained, prices are pretty much the same in Austin, food, entertainment etc. Rent and bills are little cheaper over there but not a big difference. Another thing jobs over there pay rate is way lower than Austin and the employment opportunities out there are not huge or not that many. So you make more money in Austin and we have almost the same prices compared to El Paso so with that been said I don't think El Paso is relly cheap at the end
What part of Austin specifically? From the data I'm pulling (numbeo.com) generally speaking ... Consumer Prices in Austin, TX are 18.39% higher than in El Paso, TX (without rent) Consumer Prices Including Rent in Austin, TX are 53.50% higher than in El Paso, TX Rent Prices in Austin, TX are 150.70% higher than in El Paso, TX Restaurant Prices in Austin, TX are 49.23% higher than in El Paso, TX Groceries Prices in Austin, TX are 22.37% higher than in El Paso, TX Local Purchasing Power in Austin, TX is 34.53% higher than in El Paso, TX In terms of job opportunity, with the right skills and value anyone can find a job anywhere. Including remote areas as long as you have access to the internet.
@@investwithkenneth yes I checked that page you mentioned. Not sure what that page is getting his info from. I was checking Walmart prices in Austin & El Paso once again I didn't see that much of a difference. Actually our bigger supermarket we have here is HEB and is way cheaper than Walmart in El Paso. You all have western playland charging $25 for a little park and we have fiesta texas charging $35 but is what bigger with more games and rides. Restaurants in El Paso yes I saw 2 or 3 dlrs more sometimes for a plate. So the only major difference in el paso are rent and bills. And jobs in el paso don't pay what they pay here in Austin. So that page you checking is incorrect in some stuff. I always in both cities so I personally can say is not way cheaper as you want to make it seems.
Austin prices doesn't compare to EP. I eat out daily in EP, when I went out in Austin I couldn't believe how expensive it is. I won't even start with how much my friends are paying for a two bedroom apartment.
Well IMO it depends on where you live in El Paso. With TX having no state income tax it makes up for it in property tax. Other areas may have 1 or 2% property tax but State taxes on top of that.
How is average cost of living for a single person $780 when just my rent itself is $800 (gas, internet, utilities, food and entertainment should be $400-$600) the math isn’t adding up
Too few job opportunities in El Paso is why the majority of college grads leave. Unless you come from a royal pedigree or are politically connected it ain’t gonna happen for you in EP.
In terms of job opportunity, with the right skills and value anyone can find a job anywhere. Including remote areas as long as you have access to the internet. @@investwithkenneth with the right skills as you mentioned. In El Paso they open one posting and you have 500 people applying for the same position, as in Austin one posting open and you competing with 100 other people. So more chances to get hired. Less jobs in el paso and more people competing for the position.
How Does El Paso Match Up To Your Current City? Cheaper or More Expensive?

Chiming in from Far East El Paso. All this info is pretty spot on (except the gas price, obviously) We love it here.
Thank you for the comment!!

El Paso has definitely transformed dramatically! Thanks for the comment Daniel!

Interesting, where did you see that?
You’ve never lived in New York City lol
Where are the homes for 160k?
what's your email? I'll send a list
Not sure where you’re getting your info from. Haven’t seen a 3br rental under $1,300 unless it’s very very low quality.
what's your email? I can send you a list of 20+ properties 3 bed or more under 1300 (:
What is the best area to live in El Paso? We’re all the conveniences are like Grocery stores doctors strip malls gun stores etc.? Hit me up

Thanks, but today with influx of illegal s . I’m sure crime is now higher.Rent’s are alot higher 1yr later.
Housing is deceivingly “low”. Property taxes are unbelievable for the location and the amenities the city offers do not reflect the cost.

Rather pay an extra dollar for gas than to live on a horrible, DRY CLIMATE. I lived in El Paso, nothing to do, horrible weather.

Keep in mind every ones situation is different these are average numbers. Most people here in El Paso have families or shared living spaces.
Speaking of crime the immigrants are coming in by the truck load to el Paso borders
Have you seen the new fencing they have put in place recently ?

@@muchachoep Fact.
I disagree, Fort Bliss is a major employer. Most of the time we don't have enough applicants but sometimes EP people don't know where to look.
