Great video, definitely do more like this. I have not had any Lagg yet but keep hearing good things about it and it is on my radar. I have had the Machrie Moor many years ago and quite liked it. Also, I really like your setup for your videos. If I had a setup like that my wife would have to pry me out of that chair most nights 🤣. Cheers!
Glad you like content and the format, will definitely try this style more and more. Lagg is very strong for it's age so hopefully it'll only get better and better. They're not super similar with Machrie Moor but not so different either, I think you might like it! Hahah thank you, I do love my cabinet and it's all thanks to my wife so she can't really complain for something she's responsible for 😄
Really interesting video man. Hoping to try some Lagg soon. It's cool to think that you're going to be able to follow this distillery, through the early releases you're trying and the new make you tried, and have a really good sense for where it came from where it is and where it night be going. Great stuff as always Sertug. Cheers 🥃
Thanks Matt, glad you liked it. Yeah it is nice to follow a distillery from their first releases and it's always cool to try a new make :) We're living at a good time in whisky where we can meet a lot of new distilleries and be a part of their journeys. Cheers my friend 🥃
Great addition to the RUclips WhiskyVerse! I love comparison videos like this, especially when involving new make. How do you find them to collect? I also really appreciate your tasting descriptions, especially when you make analogies that recreate a great visual experience or memory as with the dusty smell from opening an Ikea box or a water extinguished candle. Keep up the great work & thanks!
Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement, I appreciate it a lot 😃 I'm happy to know you like the content. Some new makes are sold on sites like master of malt or the whisky exchange, some I get from the distilleries and some I bought off of auctions. It really is a fantastic educational opportunity to compare the new make to the finished product. Thanks for checking in, cheers my friend 🥃
What about doing some blind tastings? 5 whiskies each time. Let's start with at least 10 y max 12 y ex-bourbon casks, continue with 12 y - 15 y sherry casks, then 5 NAS cask strenghts, maybe 5 over 100 proof bourbons. What do you think?
@@thewhiskyenthusiast there are many great tasting videos of whisky youtubers. I'd recommend to add a partner (online or preferably with phsical appearance). Not many for Scotch, but there are many very good tasting videos for Bourbon, that could be applied to Scotch :) Or even better, maybe you could invite Geoff :)
Ah ok I understand that. It does have a lot of those notes, quite young and spritely spirit. Maybe like you said it'll ease into itself after a while. Hope you enjoy the rest of the bottle, cheers

Love side-by-side videos like this. Great to see the knowledge and experience travelled across and the future seems bright!
Thanks Matt, I do enjoy trying the new makes of whiskies when I can find them and glad you liked it too. Lagg is definitely one to watch out for.

I wish! Lagg is $175 USD not including shipping. Looks like I'll be stopping by the UK this summer. Cheers
That is crazy!!! Yeah maybe head on over and bag as much as you can 😃
Nice review
Thanks Gert!
Very nice, but I'm more tempted by the new Corriecravie. Will you be reviewing that too?
Thank you! I don't think I will because I hate Oloroso finishes over bourbon barrels, it tastes disgusting to me unfortunately 🙁

Blinds are always fun to do but I don't know how much fun to watch :) I'll definitely do one though, let's see how it plays out. Thanks for the idea 🥃

@@cemtuncel1602 Ah man, doing a tandem with Geoff would be fantastic 😃🥃
I got it, but i found the citrus notes off putting. I will let it sit by for a while a come back to it later.

Lagg peated is superior to Arran peated no question.
Yeah I agree with you
It's not waves. It's mounts 😂
Hah! That makes more sense :)
@@thewhiskyenthusiast great review anyway
@@joan_b. Thank you, glad you enjoyed 😃🥃
