I'm swiss and it's definitely cool to see those pictures of your trip from places where I've been to as well. Good to hear that you had a good time. As other people have pointed out they're originally from Basel and known as Basel Läckerli and as a kid I'd eat so many of them that I had to take a long break to be able to enjoy them again. Might try making them myself soon with this video.

Have you tried allulose as a sugar substitute? It's expensive so you wouldn't want to be using it every week, well I wouldn't anyway, but you could make yourself a guilt free treat now and then. It behaves just like sugar. Look it up. I'm making some curds as Christmas gifts so one batch will have allulose for the aunt that can't have sugar. It doesn't have the aftertaste issues that so many sweeteners have and works when the sugar in a recipe is part of the structure too. It's slightly less sweet than sugar but I find most recipes are too sweet anyway so I just do a 1:1 substitute and it comes out perfect. I do a sugar free ice cream with it and have used it in cakes etc.
