Bharat was a pluralistic nation since centuries. But the present generation is not understanding it. Due to the fault of some selfish people who misunderstood our scriptures, we are finding faults in our ancestral knowledge. Our ancestors considered every single being as the manifestation of that Supreme entity, The Parabrahman. We should also strive hard to preserve the pluralistic nature of our Desh Bharat and make it the only nation that exhibits unity in diversity. 🙏 ॥ सर्वे संतु निरामयः ॥ 🙏 🙏 ॥ सर्वे जनाः सुखीनो भवन्तु ॥ 🙏

An absolutely 'Stand out' video... A real masterpiece that upholds Sankara's enriched view points on Sanatan Dharma and exposes current absolute misuse of the word secularism
It's not allowed, In according to Indian constitution, U can teach any religion in school except Hinduism, If u try to teach Hinduism, U will be taken to jail.
As per my knowledge the Constitution of India forbids teaching any religion in schools any religion be it Islam or Christianity or Hinduism or even Jainism and Buddhism. They can do it in their 'religious institutions' if they want to (not Hindus but everyone else). But you see I have seen the ideologies of Jainism and Buddhism being taught in history books. I mean apart from their 'history' which the subject is actually meant for, they also teach their basic ideologies ( talking only about Jainism and Buddhism ... to some extent also Sikhism and Sufism ). But that has never been the case with the Vedic religion despite the fact that it is the most ancient religion of Bharat and the foundation of Bharat in every respect has been laid on the principles of this very religion or at least has an essence of it in itself.@@NoThing-ec9km

People of Bharat and the world at large are woe much to shivoham for this noble and glittering enlightenment between Bharats pluralism and British secularism, thanks to shivoham alot in these dark burning days of ignorance.
Thank you for such good research and knowledge. I am always curious about dharmic philosophy, and you make it so easy and logical to understand. Please continue your work. (From Haryana)
Polytheistic religions by nature is secular. West introduced this concept after it became monotheistic. Which means they found a major fault line in what they adopted.
One of my favorite channels💖 Project Shivoham💖. Appreciate the deep research that goes into each topic and the straight forward presentation that makes it all the more intense.
The problem for today’s Bharath is when we talk about pluralism it means every thing is a manifestation of self and hence all are equal. Some thought the same when they encountered the Abrahamic system as another form of pluralism without understanding that Abrahamic concept itself will kill the very essence of pluralism. However we should also give credit that the same concept of pluralism had given strength to some others not to embrace Abrahamic religion because of its Ill effect.
Really great work sir, yes really great sentences are their in scriptures unfortunately they are not in minds and attitudes of many people in bharath. Our core point of dharma is ONENESS. MY DEEP PRAYERS TO ESWARA TO MAKE UNDERSTAND THIS BY EVERY HUMAN BEING IN THIS WORLD. . AFTER ALL WE ARE LIVING ON A SMALL SOIL BALL. WE ARE MOST TINY MATTERS WITH GREAT POTENTIAL........ సర్వేజనా సుఖినోభవంతు.
This is the first experience in my life when someone helped me understand about my roots, culture, history and what I am, in such a beautiful and easy way through this series of Project Shivoham. Sadhuwad to all the members of this Project. 🙏💐
I'm fascinated by how important religion is throughout human history, and in today's current events more than many realize or want to admit. It seems the leading powers in the world are trying to play out abrahamic faiths end time prophecies. Even those who don't seem religious are pandering to the religious extremists.
Thanks for another very interesting and educational documentary. As I was watching the video, my thought went to this question: Why institutionalized religions where created in the first place? By answering this question, one can come to the conclusion of why secularism has been adopted in democratic republics. Because, secularism is exclusive ONLY in a democracy. And this is why it has been instrumental in the West. But, Bharat stems from a whole diffetent background in which spiritual and cultural pluralism is the basis of its society. I think that due to the past agressions of other religions in India, in the present it presents secularism as "freedom to choose religious beliefs". Because, in the past Bharat has been very vulnerable to foreign invaders who tried to convert and force people into their religious belliefs. And Bharat wasn't a republic, it was a nation divided in different states, but no central government. When Bharat became a republic, which was very recent considering its antiquity, the central government adopted a model of democracy based on other democracies as well. These are my thoughts, maybe I'm wrong, but is the way I can understand this topic.
Beautifully made ..... giving the stark difference between Sanatana Dharma and the Abrahamic religions..... When the caste system disappears, Sanatana Dharma will flower again into a large tree!!!!
Thanks as always for Ann educative doc film. Many a times I feel we need to blame ourselves. We forgot to recognise our dharma and aged those aggressors and became subservient. We have lost the courage to stand up for truth.
This happened several years ago during a college excursion with a stopover to an ancient Hindu temple. At the threshold one of our Muslim student was prohibited from entering. This has happened many times in Big n Famous Hindu temple. Popular is when Yesudas was prevented from Guruvayor temple. It is now 2024 but such laws continue…
We have too many brown sahebs who subscribe to the western notion of Secularism. Unfortunate reality is that these saheb communists speak ill of the religion/culture they we're born into! Wish things will be better for the future generations! Hari OM 💮
Great masterpiece of comparative analysis. Hope PM Modi takes note of this and replace the word secularism with Dharmic pluralusm in Indian constitution. Liberate India from western colonial ideology.
Thank you for this clear discourse on secularism. Most Indians have a preference for what is imported. Those who talk of secularism without understanding its history and meaning are enamoured of it because it is an imported ideology.
Not allowing people of other castes in some temples is because of the cruel history of india where thousands of temples were distroyed by these people to prove their toxic religious philosophy of killing people who dont worship their god. One of many examples is the Nalanda University. So much knowledge was burned for nights there. India has always been the country to welcome every human no matter their caste in their temples as well as their houses treating them as gods, अतिथि देवो भव: and they have faced countless of these mishappenings just because they dont follow their religion. In the end, todays temples who don't allow the people of other caste, makes a lot of sense

The problem is indian central or state govts are not secular... It separates people in the name of minority by differentiating religion... Minority law is corrupted by religious racism...govt/court needs to reevaluate whom to put in minority basket
Thanks a lot for sharing this documentary and help us understand the basic meaning of secularism. Else, I was of the opinion that it is something we as individuals need to manage to keep the harmony of the society. Great to know that it is completely different from pluralism which we have been following for unknown period of time.
To answer your questions regarding why Secularism was adopted in countries which were almost entire Christian. This all began with the ideology of Enlightenment. People in Europe began questioning the religious norms and regulations imposed on them. Knowledge became widespread with new technological developments such as the printing press. Many Europeans started feeling that religion is no longer that much of an important part of their life. Oppressive absolutist regimes who claimed that their right to rule comes from God and constant wars between Christian sects mainly Catholics and Protestants made the people tired of the current social situation. Scientific discoveries and spread of new ideas made the people question this animosity. The little difference in theological beliefs leading to pan continental wars in Europe made absolutely no sense to those people since they all believe in the same God with only minor differences in their beliefs regarding that God. This idea of Enlightenment slowly took a political form. Some Kings implemented the Enlightenment ideology in their regimes(like Prussia) while some nations overthrew their kings and declared a Republic to implement the same(France). One of the prime features of this enlightenment ideology is Secularism i.e. the Separation of State and Religion. So in simple words, Secularism in the west did not rise as a provision to accommodate different religions and faiths but rather as a rebellion against religion since they were tired of the constant conflicts and superstitions that had a religious origin. None of this solved anything however. Europeans stopped killing each other for one stupid reason(religion) and started killing each other for another stupid reason(nationalism). The political rivalries remained, it just no longer remained a religious issue, rather it obtained a secular dimension of national sovereignty and colonial expansion.

There is no doubt that our Sanatan Dharma is inclusive in nature and it is about the well being of everyone but in this kaliyuga where people are easily driven by ego, some people are getting influenced by the toxic media and politicial drama, so that is how they end up talking bad about other communities or even hating on others by certain generalisations, so as far as what I have observed this secular word is used in that context, for those who are intolerant or extremist. The future of our country lies in the hands of young people, so they need to have the right knowledge and understanding about their Dharma. In this way, they would neither find it cool to criticize their own dharma nor they would find the need to criticize other's belief or their community in general to appreciate their own Dharma. We can only reflect the true values of our Dharma through our actions.
