- Mobile Home Homemaking video! Welcome to my homemaking motivation video where I take you along with me as I work on my Tiny Kitchen! My old trailer is 455 square feet. To get my mobile home in better condition I had to do a renovation and makeover. My small mobile home may not be big but it feels larger because of how I set it up! This video is different from what I usually make like food pantry hauls but I do hope you enjoy it! I also have some frugal living tips in this video as I show you what life is like living in a small space. I hope you enjoy this day in the life of living in my office trailer.
Mobile Home Homemaking can be a work in progress!
My Singlewide Mobile Home is not big but it's a great opportunity to make the most out of what I have! My home decorating ideas for my living room is focused on furniture placement and colorful fabrics with patterns. I applied an interior design principle in my trailer that may not be obvious because I do not have the finest furnishings. I used symmetry! It works in any home on any budget. You can make a nice space for yourself, it takes creativity when your budget is low or non-existent.
MOBILE HOME HOMEMAKING & FRUGAL LIVING
It is a blessing to have a home that I can offer homemaking motivation videos to help you make the most out of what you have! In my mobile home spend the day with me you would find me tidying up and putting things in designated spaces. Mobile home homemaking means making the best home I can using what I got! I use fabric storage containers housing off-season items and supplies under the bed. This is one of my interior design tips for Storage so I can store items out of sight.
MOBILE HOME HOMEMAKING:
This video is a day in the life of mobile home living! One necessary step I must take is keep the floor space clear. I make my home look more neat and tidy by putting things away. I try to make a place for everything and put everything in it's place. When you live in a small home, try to utilize space the best you can so you can safely walk within your home. Create a defined pathway to avoid tripping. If you would see a mobile home clean with me then you'd find me clearing the path in my home, so I can safely walk around! The struggle is real and it's important to create a routine that works for you! My floors are down to the sub flooring. It may not be the prettiest but it's what I'm working with.
HOMEMAKING MOTIVATION
The space is a minimalist home tour but the amount of things I have do fill up the space quickly. I had to figure out how to maximize a tiny space. I make my space work for me and improve as I go. When I can, I upgrade items to better quality items. I am decluttering my belongings and deciding what to keep and what to let go!
Mobile Home Clean With Me
Keeping your floors clear will help your home feel large! Design your space with storage in mind so you can get the most out from your furniture. When I moved here, I had very little furniture, it took time to build up to what I have today. I continue to go through my stuff to declutter and make the best home I can!
FRUGAL LIVING
Living in a small singlewide mobile home has challenges. It would be easier if I had a "junk room" but I have to work with what I got. I have one closet housing a water heater. The closet has room to store items which I utilize to the max. Use what you've got, buy what you can, and make the most out of your home whether you live in an apartment, in a mobile home trailer or any other kind of home
KITCHEN TOUR
In today's video I include a kitchen tour! I had fun making it and maybe will do more in the future. I hope you enjoy!

Interesting how many people don't understand basics like budget and a small space. In order to buy anything, you need to have money and means to bring it home especially when it's something heavy. Everything is getting expensive. The whole point is well described "working with what i got." Starting a new life is never easy. At this point, Sarah has her little heaven on earth, things she needs and a bit extra to put away because even the food pantry may not last forever. This is a real person with a real life not an influencer with pointless decluttering video with a million dollar budget.
Thank you! I love my home. I'm glad to have my place and my own space. Starting over during the Pandemic was a big challenge. I think you make such an interesting point about influencer videos. The behind the scenes and home staging processes a channel may do to produce a video can create unrealistic expectations on normal folks. I hope my video helps those that may have less financial options use their own creativity to make their spaces work for them! I feel happy with what I do at home. It just keeps getting better!
@@CareFreeLivingChannellots of people can't separate reality from illusion. Putting a place together takes years unless you have an unlimited budget or swipe a credit card.
So true! I'd rather use what I've got and make it work than use my credit card to have my dream home.
I stayed with an older lady while her daughter was out of town. She had a routine she did every night and one of the things was she turned on her Christmas lights which were in a large jar. It was a small string of lights but it gave off enough light you could see. It was very peaceful and soothing. Jan
Hi Jan! That sounds so nice to have lights in a jar. I am enjoying the Christmas lights in my kitchen. Have a wonderful day, Jan!
Decluttering is a constant in life, heck even the car glovebox needs to be decluttered. Love strings if miniture lights in the house. Its do hot all window coverings are closed 24/7. The little lights brighten the rooms and lift our spirits, just like you had joy. See you next video. Oh find time to relax.
Sorting through my belongings helps make my home life better. I want to have a fantastic Fall and Winter season and the sorting is getting a "jump start" on that. I'm thrilled with the progress I've made and want to keep up the momentum. Have a great day!
I love your idea's! The vision board and the way you hung your shorts not sure why that never occurred to me. Love the patter on your new cushion cover as well.
Thank you! Hanging shorts helps me stay organized. It’s one of those items that I can lose quickly if folded in a stack of clothing. I’m loving the cushion cover, too!
A good size hutch could help with a lot of the stuff you have in the kitchen. You can use jars in your garden if you plant something early. Cover a plant with a jar. It makes a small greenhouse. One thought came to my mind is that a lot of appliances you have can be replaced by just one good stove. Maybe not right away, but it will simplify and create more room.
I was thinking the same thing! It seems like Sarah has a lot of open shelving, which I know is cheaper and often availabl, but one good closed-door piece of store he (even an old Tv cabinet with doors!) would work wonderfully to replace so much of the racks and also greatly reduce visual clutter. I know there are an abundance of these at Habitat for Humanity as well, but also know they are not easy to move.
Those are great ideas! Growing up I remember seeing very large kitchen cabinets called Hoosier that would be so neat to have something like that. I like the greenhouse jar idea. When I moved here, I got some basic appliances to get me started but it would be nice to have a stove to cook on!
@@vitabee7748 yes it's a visual thing. Smaller spaces like closed spaces. There are still old fashioned hutches around. They are beautiful.
@@CareFreeLivingChannel Hoosier has a drop table on the front. Can be used as an extra counter space. Think about what you need, the size, functionality, etc... and you will find one.
@vitabee7748 I think the tv cabinets with doors is a great idea to re-purpose in the kitchen! Thank you for your suggestion.
Not only a hurch, but if you ever come across an old wardrobe for your bedroom, it will fit a ton, and it's only one piece of furniture. With mirror doors, a drawer on the top (bottom) or both, where one side if for hanging clothes and the other with shelves. There are not many of them left, but they work great despite being huge. You can put a half of your bedroom in it and not even notice it.
That's a really good idea. I love traditional pieces of furniture from the era when things were made to last generations! Looking at my clothing rack in my bedroom, it would be a great upgrade to have a wardrobe with doors that close. I'll have to keep a lookout at Habitat for Humanity because sometimes they get nice pieces like that!
@@CareFreeLivingChannelthey still pup up here and there. Transporting one can be a challenge, but it's a one time deal.
Get rid of clutter sweetie 😘 minilist living will help you .keave the stuff that sparks yoy joy .less too look after more time to enjoy your life clutter free home 🏡 ✨ take care❤❤❤
It’s coming along a bit better each day. Sorting through my belongings is an on-going project!
I love the floral overlay that you used on the shelf. I don’t know why the Christmas lights lit up against the gray curtain made me so happy. I haven’t stopped smiling yet.
Thank you very much! I'm happy the Christmas lights made you smile! I cannot wait for the holiday season this year and turning on the lights gets me excited for those days in just a few more months! The floral fabric was a great find at the thrift store. I have two of them. Have a great night!
I love your videos Sarah! Very cheerful and calming!
Awww thank you so much! I'm happy to hear it. Have a wonderful night!
Your home is nice and cozy 😊
Thank you so much! I love my little trailer!

Love the Christmas lights. I really appreciate all the work you put in your video.
Thank you very much! The Christmas lights make me happy. I try to make the best videos I can!
You have a good evening& say hellow to Mr Turtle!!😅 Enjoy your tea....
YUMMY!!!💐
Mr. Turtle says Hello! He told me to get him more flowers. He's a demanding little fella! Have a great weekend and thanks for watching.
That curtain you bought would look really nice in your kitchen instead of the brown curtain you have , Of course you would need to cut it down but you could make some placemats with the spare material .
That's a good idea! Thank you for your suggestion. I would like to sew more. Maybe as I organize my space I can set up a sewing area.
Love your lights. I love to rearrange my stuff all the time. Your place looks lovely. You have great ideas.😊
Thank you very much! Rearranging my space is an ongoing process to try to make my home better. I enjoy working on my place. It's gotten so much better. I love my little trailer. Have a great weekend!
Doing a fantastic job. Beautifully done. ❤
Thank you very much! I love to work on my little trailer!
Do you need the half and half? I use smaller jars to start plant cuttings which I trade for other things. I use clear mason jars to store rice, lentils, etc. Just a thought. Tina, Al's wife
Hi Tina, good idea on the plants!
Love the lights,I b keep a tree up year round. We live in the mountains and I call it my mountain tree. It gives me so much joy😊
Thank you so much! Have a wonderful night!
Love the lights against the grey curtain! Looks very pretty! I so enjoy your videos. They make me happy. Thanks for sharing your journey. God bless you my friend. ❤️🙏
Thank you so much for watching my videos! The Christmas lights make me happy, so glad to set them up in the kitchen. Have a wonderful day and God Bless You, too!
Good job! Since I have been on another medical leave from work I am trying to be productive this time and declutter and deep clean my little apartment. You have inspired me to have a “beverage of the night.” I look forward to that cup of tea with honey!
Thank you very much. Those are great things to work on! Improving home life will give you fantastic results. A nightly ritual of tea and honey sounds good to me!
I recommend sleepy time tea 😊
Hi Sarah! Happy Friday! Please know the difference between needs and wants. No criticism but that will help you save over time. All your purchases seem to be low cost, but if you don't need it, don't buy it! Save that money. No judging, just my 2 cents... ❤
Who can decide if it's truly a need? Something that can be a need one day turns into a donation . Everything changes.
Hi Chris! I do enjoy thrift store sales, LOL! I'm sorting through different categories of belongings like shoes and clothing to get started with building that muscle to decide on what to keep and what to let go of. It's a process that I work on in small steps. I also have the thought to plan accordingly for "just in case" moments of life. I'm getting there little by little! Have a great night, Chris!
@janedow5366 That's true! I find that when I put things in categories, it helps me make decisions. My home is coming along well and the steps I take may be small but they add up to propel me in the direction I want to go!
@@CareFreeLivingChannel I went to an estate sale one day. It was the house of an elderly woman who lived by herself for decades. Now, we all have a different definition of elderly. It's hard for me to think that I'm... Twenty with several decades of experience if you catch my drift, but the lady left behind a massive amount of useless stuff. She was not a hoarder, she just had closets filled with stuff she never went through. Imagine closing from around the 1950s and up. There is vintage that people want, and there is old stuff. The lady left behind 3 daughters who were not spring chickens themselves and they had to deal with all of it. I generally go through what I have, but that was a wake up call. Unless I start going through everything I have and really think about all of it, my children would have to deal with it, so I'm getting to the point where I know what I have in every drawer and purge constantly. I still have things, but I keep what I like, or something that has value. Once you let go of things that just take space, you have that space for something better. I think it's true about people as well.
@CareFreeLivingChannel You do you! I know as I get older, I don't need all those "just in case" items. I do understand. You're wonderful Sarah. Loved your sweet voice and positive vibe from day #1! 😉
The Christmas lights really brightened up that corner.
I loved adding the Christmas lights! It brings on the cheer in the kitchen. Have a great day!
I really enjoy how your organizing your home 😊❤
Thank you so much! I enjoy making my home better. Little by little it's coming along.
@CareFreeLivingChannel that's what I do too. Little by little it sll adds up. Enjoy your weekend.
I hope you can make it for tonight's video! It should be fun!
@@CareFreeLivingChannel I am waiting for it
I live in a smallish home and I love to thrift shop! But after a bit I need to go through and declutter, if I don’t use stuff I can pass it on to someone else. Especially small appliances that take up space. Enjoy your videos
Thank you very much! I enjoy thrift store shopping, too. As I sort through my belongings a little at a time, it greatly helps me enjoy my home even more! Have a good day!
Hi Sarah, you are really getting things in order. Everything Is looking good. The lights were a good idea. Have a wonderful weekend 🎉
Thank you so much! My home is getting better little by little each week. I am so happy about that! I love the Christmas lights. Have a great weekend, too!
I’m trying to declutter a little at a time also. It’s really hard to get rid of things you really like sometimes, but I’ve been watching some really good decluttering videos on You Tube that have really been helping me along. minimal mom, Danni rearranged and cluttering are all very good. I think you’re going really well so far, Sarah!❤😊
Thank you so much! It can be a big challenge to sort through my belongings. Doing a little bit here and there really helps me stay the course. I want to make my home the best I can before the holiday season. It will make decorating for Christmas more fun! Thank you for the channel suggestions. Have a great night!
😊 a bit under the weather. thanks for sharing this.
Hi Karen! I hope you feel better real soon. Thank you for taking the time to watch my video. Have a good day, Karen!
Hey sarah, donate the mason jars all types can be reused for canning.
Good point! Thank you!
@@CareFreeLivingChannel you're very welcome. I used to give them to my parents when they used to can. they took them all.
That's a good idea. I'm sure the jar will find a good home!
Don't get rid of the Mason jars , you can turn them into bird feeders . That big dresser was something I would definitely like to have and I'll have to check this place out next week ❤ . It was really hot today 96 degrees 😮
Good suggestion on the bird feeder idea! Habitat for Humanity is a great store to shop at. I look a lot, but am being selective on what I bring home as I sort through my belongings. Have a great day and stay cool!
you remind me so much of my late Aunt Faye. Love your videos
Thank you so much! I appreciate you watching!
hi sarah , loved the changes but the christmas lights cheered me up great idea ,i might try that too , love your thrift store i loved the two dark wood tables , i enjoy your creativeness i live in belfast in a very small bungalow and im forever decluttering anyway have a goodweekend looking forward to tuesday take care x
I'm so glad you enjoyed the Christmas lights, too! They make being in the kitchen fun. Yes, those tables were nice! Living in your small home, you get the challenges of finding a place for your belongings while also sorting through it all. I do a little at a time and have a "donation pile" that is growing. It's an ongoing process for me. Have a wonderful day!
Love watching, Sarah ❤
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoy my videos!

You're watching lots of videos tonight, thank you so much!
You can put extra blankets/sheets/clothes in pillow cases/throw pillow cases. Then put on bed or couch.
Thank you for your suggestion, it's a great storage idea!
Hi Sarah! Everything looks great, and I’d donate the Mason jar. Hope you’re keeping well. 😀👋🏼
Thank you, Judy! It's been hot here in the South and I'm looking forward to cooler days ahead. September and October should cool things down! I'm adding the mason jar to the donation pile. Have a great night, Judy!
You should look for a buffet to put alll your stuff in.all these little containers make it look more cluttered/ get a bigger type of storage( like dresser msybe. That geart shelf would look cute in your bedroom..if you had gotten it.😊 You are such a sweetie..Take care.👍🥰🦜🌴❤
I think you could do with a shed connected to your cabin for things like your ladder and other such stuff to make more room.
Great ideas! Thanks so much for your suggestions. I love visiting Habitat for Humanity to see what they have. Having proper storage would be a huge help. Over time, it will come and in the meantime, sorting through my belongings continues. Have a great weekend!
Hi Sarah. Thanks for sharing this fun video. I did get an idea from you to use. How you hung your pair of shorts on a hanger with the clothespin. I have alot of shorts. I live in Arizona and wear them almost year round. I do have some hangers that are for shorts and skirts. But i need more. So i can make my own with the clothespin. Why didn't i think of that? Lol
I'm so happy the clothes pin idea is useful for you! Shorts is one of those items that fold awkwardly so I like to hang them up. I'm sorting through my clothing and working on letting go of the items that don't fit well or any material that bothers my skin. Have a great day!
Only you can decide how much is too much.❤
So true! I love my home more now than ever! Sorting through my belongings is an ongoing process. It’s going great so far. And keeps getting better little by little!
I love hibiscus iced tea.
It's fantastic tea!
Very nice another great video ❤
Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I like your pj's
Thank you, Lois!
Nothing wrong with replacing something as a upgrade or nicer furniture
Hi Lois! Habitat has a lot of nice items to choose from. They have a coffee table I really like that might work better in my living room than what I have. I might get it as an upgrade!
You have a cute space but too much clutter
Thank you for watching my Office Trailer video.
I'm a person that can'tthrow away any glass jars. ecycle if you don't want to keep them!
Jars are so useful! Hopefully cutting back to my favorite jars will help me clear a bit of room.

Do you know that you have a swelling or lump in your neck? I noticed while you were sitting at endvof video. If it's new, please get it checked.
It's my thyroid. For years, I've been managing it. It was much larger before but has greatly decreased, thank God!

I'm adding it to the donation pile!
Hope you got you some pepper.
Gotta get the pepper!
Donate the Mason jar please.
Thank you for letting me know! I'm adding it to my donation pile!
you can not get anymore stuff in your home. You have too much as it is. Everything is cramped in there.
My home is jam-packed for sure. As I go through my belongings and work on making improvements, some items go, some stay. It's a process to achieve the homelife I desire!
Why would anyone think they have the right to tell you what you can do in your home. Sarah it’s your home,do as you please.
Sarah, you do you! What makes you happy in your home is what makes it your home. Be happy! To the lady that made to comment Mind your own and let others live their life!
All I can say to this is WOW! You have a lot of nerve (and no manners apparently). Sarah, you keep doing you (you and your videos are much appreciated)!
