      @@DoubleDogDare54 No, you Ask a stallion, tell a gelding, discuss with a mare and pray to god almighty if its a pony. You must respect a stallion, but reality is a mare is more dangerous. Mares are the real bosses of a herd, its just studs are more likely to bite. On the whole, I'd rather handle a stallion then deal with a angry lead mare. A stallion thinks you are inferior to it, a mare KNOWS you are.

      @@DoubleDogDare54 That's one pov. You could also say "Never trust a horse". I agree that novices need to gain more experience to handle stallions safely compared to mares and geldings. I cannot tell you how happy this video makes me! The fact that there's 2 stallions out enjoying a nice ride, on a loose rein, just walking along having fun. Too often you see Stallions kept in stalls, away from other horses and that's no way to live a life! I'm so glad to see this, and even happier that you're out enjoying your boy like you should be. We all got into horses because we like to have fun with them, and more often than not you see the show and breeding world take over to the point it's not fun anymore. This video is my idea of a perfect day with my horse :)

    • @amolasmarquesitas
      @amolasmarquesitas 3 года назад +11

      And I swear all of them were really sweet. Although Juguete was a real tall boi, I struggled to get on him. He was a mix of black and brown, He always lowered his head to eat the grass near him. Thor is the oldest horse in my past riding lessons stables , he was very chill. One day he had gone crazy because of the near noises, he got startled and started bucking, rearing and galloping like crazy. Luckily I didnt fall off that time, Pinochio was a short boi and had stripes on his lower legs, like a lil zebra. He was naughty but sweet still, I jumped on him various times. And Money was a horse in a hack to the Grand Coral, I was scared of falling but it was so fun

Too many still have Zero turn out & many have no days off, or are left alone to lise their minds & shut down, etc. I agree that they are dinosaurs, but not enough are extinct yet. Word needs to get out & FEI needs to improve their rules about pasturing, going to one rein instead of their stupid double reins & even the type of bits allowed. That lower rein in the wrong hands causes tremendous pain for horses.

    I loved this video! I've been wanting to see you take one of the boys out on a hack for sooo long, and looks like Emporio loved it. I loved watching him try new things and had a laugh to see his ears drop out to the sides when he was a bit unsure but he was so brave and really got into it. The Friesian stallion was so beautiful and such a good boy too! I loved this thanks Matt 💖

    This has got to be my favourite video of yours so far. Two gorgeous stallions out enjoying the fresh air and the trail. What a beautiful area, even with the dogs off leash. The boys behaved so well under that pressure. Only negative thing I'd like to say is, I'd of loved to have seen their manes loose while they had their gallop..
    Looking forward to seeing more trail rides from you both and maybe with Jesse along too

    Your ride took my breath away...and took me back to my days romping through the hills of east Tennessee when I was young on my "baby", a beautiful quarter horse/thoroughbred mix. I grew up at the show grounds, but he loved trail rides. His favorite thing was walk under the lowest branches on the trails...ducking became an art form for me. I lost him at age 16...we were both 16 when I retired him.
    It was wonderful to see Sorento so relaxed out and about on your ride. He has healed well and you all seem to be on your way! I absolutely know what you mean when you speak of horses being in your heart and "yours". Never lose that. They are precious and want to be there. Emporio loved it, it was great to see him splashing at the end. Two beautiful boys. I'm an Australian girl, who used to live in the Netherlands, and consider it my second home. Can't wait for the world to go back to some kind of normal and get back to Europe. Ooh and command train your pups. I know Frenchies don't like to listen, but if you can get them sitting, staying at your side and coming back on command, then their world would open up too, and you can feel safe taking them out off leash. Great video today btw 😊

    Oh wow, what an incredible trail ride. Both stallions were impeccably behaved. They were having lots of fun. Definitely is always good to have a change of scenery in the routine now and then. Your ride made me so happy. I thoroughly enjoyed watching your video. Such wonderful company nice and chilled, but always aware of potential safety issues, like the dogs coming at you from nowhere. I watched a video a while back where two girls were riding out in the snow in some local woods and these dogs were determined to try and bite one of the ponies. You can hear the upset and scared sound in their voices, but they kept it cool until the owner of the dogs finally arrived to get control of their dogs.
    Your video of your ride really made my day. Thank you Matt and Maureen x
