I WILL own at least 2 Friesians in the new world. I would love to learn more about them. I want my horses to be at the height of their performance. I love horses, but this one touches my heart. While looking at them I know there is a God. No one else could bring such beauty into this world.

I can still remember the day, over 30-years ago, when I first saw my first Friesian. He was standing alone in a paddock, as black as night, with a flowing mane and tail the like I've never seen in my entire life. I was mesmerized. I just had to get closer to him. As I approached to pet him on his nose, I could feel such an incredible sensation of sweetness and gentleness, that I instantly fell in love with the breed. I could only have imagined what he would have looked like running free, and after watching your video, I finally got the chance. And after wondering for so many decades, it was worth the wait. Thank you:)
Yes, the sweetness and gentleness of the Friesian is overwhelmingly moving.
Having grown up near the Black Pearl Farms, I am yearning for a return visit to interact with some of these stunning mares who have strong shoulders and bulky behinds for driving and trail.

I've seen many horses, many different breeds, many different personalities. But I have NEVER felt the level of sweetness from any other than with this phenomenal animal. Trust me my friend, this horse is beyond anything else on four legs. Maybe one day you'll get to experience your dream. "When there's a will, there's a way."
I've only had the pleasure to ride a Friesian just once...and it was complete different than the Warmbloods I normally ride...the gaits are different, the movement is different, it's a special feeling to ride a Friesian. Would love to ride one agian.
Oh my! I have added to my bucket list in my life.... just to ride one... once. What a Majestically graceful animal of any breed of any animal Ihave ever seen. Goosebumps. I just can't stop watching their gate and line of movement. WOW! TXHillCountry

All horse breeds captive me , however it's the Purebred Arabian that stole my heart when I was 15...Lol that was 55 years ago.

If I were ever to own a horse again it definitely would be this magnificent Friesian
I fell in love with horses when I first rode one at three years of age, thanks to someone helping me In riding my first horse. My dad was also loved horses and has his own, a one-man horse which he alone could handle. My dad told me many stories of him and his horse, but one stood out from among the rest, and which he told me often, that of NEVER coming up behind a horse without letting him know you are behind him, otherwise you will get kicked. He proved it to me with his broken nose and lack of cartilage in it.
I love all horses, but certain breeds have captured my heart, the Arabian, Morgan, Lippizaner, and the Friesians, including also Mustangs (which are mostly the heritage of free spirited wild horses of the USA, but also having the Arabian and Spanish Barb in their original genetic background and brought over but the early Spanish Conquistadors. America had NO horses until they were left behind, afterwards, the Native American people rode and also used them as pack animals). Even though the Paint horses have their own registry, they also can be seen in various breeds and many show events. I love the Paint horses but the above breeds are my favorites.
Two horses I rode I wish I could have bought, a half Arabian/Morgan cross, named Tony, beautifully trained, but ruined be uncaring riders. He died in the mountains because he didn’t want to go back with other horses to the barn area. He also was very depressed and didn’t want to live anymore because he was also being abused by many people, even the owner who should have noticed this behavior. After Tony died, I was told he would have sold him to me for $500. He needed the love and kindness he wasn’t getting from people. I cried for days afterwards. The other horse I rode was a work horse named Dixie, very gentle and watching me leave while standing at the fence until she couldn’t see me anymore. She was sold soon after this. I cried for her. Two beautiful horses I could have bought if I had the money and a place to keep them together. I still miss them very much, they were special to me, and they connected with me that I didn’t think possible, they would have been my best friends and riding companions. I will never forget them. How beautiful these horses move with such elegance.What graceful , beauty and calmness in a horse. . I love watching dressage competion and show jumping. It is so amzing how you can be one with a horse . One body and mind equals fun.

I am a 58 year old woman who has had the privilege of being “foster mom” to a wonderful 23 year old Friesian named Marcus for the past five years. They truly are magical horses and I feel so grateful to have him in my life!❤️

What do you mean by foster mom? Are there really so many fresians that they now end up in bad situations and need rescuing?
@@missanna208802 You had me laughing - these are expensive horses and the owners may be wealthy but not nearby, and do not have the time keen in contact with the horse all the time, or ride it often enough. So what often happens is that they are at a farm and a trustworthy person is their guardian. Those "friends" of horse and family visit them often, another pair of eyes to look out for their wellbeing (Now, for such valuable horses that is not an issue anyway, I assume their owners will book excellent board for them).
The owners know that that horse is well taken care of, and the lucky guardian gets to ride a good horse w/o having to pay for keep of the horse.
The other situation - in that case for the 23 year old - is a retired horse. I assume in that case they will chose a less prestigious, less costly stable to keep them (if it is remote it will be cheaper - in which case it is also good to have a guardian nearby).
Or the foster parents takes in the horse alltogether (ownership and duty to pay bills may remain with the owners, but he fosters offers a stable, food, and companionship for the horse..
Madeline's comment of 2yrs ago is exactly how I feel today as I watch this clip, minus the noble companion-though to be so lucky as to even hug one. Oh so awe-inspiring and all I would ever want, to have one as my noble companion. Thank you for sharing.
This is the year I want to fulfill my #1 bucket list goal....to ride a Friesian. I have loved them for decades yet have never ever seen one.
I follow a "Friesian Horses" channel in the Netherlands on Utube. It is a marvelous channel and they teach all about the Friesian breed. They breed and train Friesians there at Stal G. Follow your Dream!! 💕🐴

Madeline McBride but why does it move like two men dressed as a horse 🧐??!! Not exactly graceful kno? The Andalusian is better in that sense. Although this seems like a more masculine kinda horse breed, looks wayy too awkward to my eyes!

That's what my dad used to always say. Horses are our noble companions. Dogs are our loyal companions.
@@maniacram Doesn't look awkward to me. You can tell it's a powerful horse. My top 3 favourite horse breeds are Andalusian, Arabian and Friesian. In that order. And this is coming from a Spaniard.
@@edstar83 You mean you can tell it's a rhino? 🤣. Powerful as fuck yes. I mean don't get me wrong I love it. It's also one of my favorite breed of horses. But still yaackk. My favorite 😍 used to be the Andalusian as well. But nowadays it's actually the Marwari, looks like a pony but very graceful. I never really got around to liking the arabian reallly. Bunny rabbit? I mean like really? Probably got great internal anatomy though. 😁
I think these are the most beautiful horses ever. I used to own Quarter Horses, and love their laid-back attitude, but the Friesians are. . .wow. :)

What a wonderful film, I concur with everything that is said here. I have the privilege of owning a gorgeous Fresian gelding (or rather he owns me!) who is always so willing to please. He may be with me for a lovely long hack, competing in dressage or helping as a therapy horse with young people. A truly magnificent breed. Keep up the good work Black Pearl!
I'm in my sixties and have ridden horses most of my life, but now, now I just want one to groom, watch and adore. That powerful beauty feels life sustaining and youthful. I want to see that kind of life running in my pastures as I watch with a smile in my heart.
I know exactly how you feel. Also in my sixties and I last rode in 1990. I just had to try one more time and it caused pain for days after. I had back surgery in 1986 and never was able to ride after. (Or run again..as I ran 3 miles every morning) I just want to pet and hug a horse as I miss their smell even. I grew up with horses and loved showing them also. At least I will always have the memories of those beloved horse days :)

So true Debbie Prokop..horse & puppy breath! (One of our horse pastures had flooding in wet weather so mint grew there...as kids we got such a laugh when the horses came up to the barns in evenings with heavy mint breath..grazing close the mint again :)
Thank you so much for writing that, Debbie. Now I know I am not the only one who feels that way. I miss my horses so much that I have coaxed horses to come closer to the fence just to smell their manes. I know its goofy but is the best a horse girl of 65 can do right now. Have thought about working with the shelter on their broken hearted horses and teaching people how to work around and with horses. Maybe you would like that too? There is a special place in Gods heaven and heart for horses and he chooses well, who will love them and heal their hearts.

I'm 65 years old and use to ride in Minnesota, where my parents had relative's on farms with beautiful horses like this....someday I will own a few horses but hopefully I'll still be able to ride them. If not I'm still looking forward to have owning and grooming a few of these beautiful creatures as you said...:)

Fans of Outlander and the movie Ladyhawke, will recognize these gorgeous equines. I have always admired them. I am so glad the breed was revived, this is a magnificent horse that should not be lost to time.

@@doreenjohnson8359 here's a sale page advertising Friesians, have a look: www.equine.com/horses-for-sale?b=Friesian The only other color produced in Friesians is chestnut, but it is very rare. Black is dominant, so unless both the stallion and mare carry the red gene, then the foal will always be black.

My Friesen is a big beautiful sweetheart.
Beautiful horses. We have a Friesian stallion in our stable and he's called "Baby" because he's so gentle and good natured. He's is running with the geldings in a small group on the paddocks and pasture.
