- Stellar Blade Profile: As one of Stellar Blade's antagonists, Raven functions as one of the obstacles in EVE"s path. However, Raven provided to be a dynamic individual with a character arc unique to Stellar Blade. Stellar Blade's narrative is provided mainly through the lens of EVE, with the character development of others in the game occurring offscreen.
This video is the telling of Raven's story from the moments of her dive with her comrades in the Second Airborne Squadron, up until the opening moments of Stellar Blade.

I hope they make another game with Raven in it, she has so much potential, she could be either a villain or some sort of anti-hero since Mother Sphere turned out to be the big antagonist

Getting the Raven suit after beating the game is the CLOSEST we get so far... But that suit is bad ass! I mean that literally because Eve's ass looks THE BEST in that suit
We can assume that raven has been attacking angels before the 7th squadron, the "singing angel" we found reveals that there was a traitor amongst them
Yeah I agree. She could be sabotaging the waves. I interpreted the singing angel side quest as the traitor being an Angel of that wave though. Do you think Raven infiltrates the waves and then destroys their possibilities from completing the EVE protocol? That sounds devastating if true. Good point :)
24:20 A month or so back, I changed the game text language to Korean to cross-reference the two different instances of corrupted blue text on the English translation of the "I Felt It" memorystick. All 7 instances of blue text except for one reads “@a*en”-the outlier is rendered "@aen"-and I wanted to make sure this was a typo and not referencing someone or something else. Sure enough, the Korean uses the same characters for all 7: “까@*.” Therefore, I believe that last instance is a typo and is missing the asterisk.
On that note, I was convinced the corrupted text was referencing Raven by name, especially after the “I Heard It” memorystick reveals Felix acquired one of her legacies, (on which she usually opens with “Legacy account: Raven”). However, the 까 syllable from the Korean text is not used anywhere in Raven's name (레이븐). But I soon landed on 까마귀, or “kkamagwi,” which translates to “crow,” my conclusion being Felix is emphasizing her "true appearance." My point being, I argue Felix is referencing/revering Raven in these memories, based on this loose translation of the memorystick’s Korean text below:

I'm glad to see another phenomenal Stellar Blade video from you. The story and characters are so rich and compelling. i love the way you peel back the layers on all the entries we are given, then piece them together to illustrate what we have all read throughout the game in these analysis. Raven was already the most interesting character to me, and how you eloquently express how she felt in her descent to madness, helped me fully realize why she's probably my favorite character!

So that’s why in the side quest when we were looking for the religious man’s brother Adam says whoever his brother saw in the desert must’ve been a real looker he was talking about himself lol 😂

Thanks for the in-depth videos, my friend. I think Raven's story is brilliant and tragic. "The Curse of Knowledge" speaks loudly in her story arc and shows that they're ultimately doomed if one isn't guided correctly. All we need is more digital artwork from the community of Raven. Her design is fantastic!
I agree. One exciting thing is that we are getting into Stellar Blade at its birth. Now that we know sequels are coming, it'll be great to see this IP grow. As you pointed out, it'll be great to see artwork and other fan-created stuff from the community as well.
Maybe Raven was not the Eve of the 2nd airborne squadron, but the Tachy?
She wears a special suit but also acts as a protector for her squad. Both characters are no-nonsense and focused, which might be why she is unsuitable for a merger with Adam.
This could also explain why Adam only chooses to save Eve in the opening. (He is under pressure, of course, but it seemed like the bike guns were enough to subdue the Alpha.
Yes I agree. Raven does seem like a protector, but it could be that Stannis or Ripley were the ones that filled the Tachy role for wave 2 and helped protect Raven. Never know... unless we get a Raven prequel DLC. Would be awesome.

I still wonder why Adam made Raven an Alpha. He could be more to blame for her anger than he is willing to admit.
It is also curious that Adam does not wish to fuse with Raven due to her mental state, yet he is okay with how Eve leaves Raven. (To be fair he might not know.) Eve's decision to spare Raven is driven by hate and a desire for revenge, showing a lack of empathy. It is one of the parts of the story that bothers me, and not just because I feel sorry for Raven since she was used by everyone she encountered. (It could be argued she is granting Raven a chance to think about things and atone, but Eve should know she is too far gone. This bothers me because it reminds me of Aloy's frequent actions that felt out of character and showed no understanding of other points of view in Horizon Forbidden West.)
It would be interesting if a DLC would let us play as Raven during her dive or see a little more of what really happened during dives 3-6.
I suspect Raven will be repaired eventually, and I hope it is handled well. She is a tragic character that I would like to see given a chance at redemption. Even though she killed my favorite character, Tachy. Guess I could teach Eve a thing or two about empathy!
Raven's care and devotion to Adam is one of the reasons why he managed to stay alive throughout the years until he made the risk to have Eve be his chosen.
Adam also simply could not consider fusing with Raven for to many reasons other than being her unstable and less advanced, Raven shows no agency and compassion and her devotion to Adam alone made her extremely hostile to everyone and has shown to constantly make bad choices in her pursuit for revenge.
Raven is one of the few characters to bring out darker emotions in Eve, she used Tachy as trap and tried to wipe out Xion in an attempt to kill her, both choices Eve can't justify nor forgive Raven for who shows nothing but vitriol towards her despite them being in the same situation.
That's the tragedy, Adam hoped that Raven would trust him and carry on without him and be an ally to Eve in saving humanity.
Just found out we're getting DLC so got that too look forward to. Your idea of doing waves before EVE's 7th wave definitely is a possiblity.
Missed an opportunity to dive into the biblical sources and do some comparisons between Raven and Lilith. Still, great video - looking forward to the next.

Raven is an interesting and very tragic character. The last shot where Eve walks away, leaving her on the ground with her severed arms and body frame, screaming reminds me so much of that final shot of Azula in ATLA. Left chained to the ground, crying, screaming, and mentally gone.
As much as Eve wanted so bad to finish her, I like to think that she realized that if she did kill Raven, Eve herself would end up mentally unstable and a monster losing all traces of humanity just like her.
If anything, it would be likely that if it wasnt for Eve being saved and going on this journey, Raven woulve eventually try to kill Adam at some point.
Great points you stated - agree with the idea of what you said about EVE leaving her alive. Haven't gotten into Avatar, but just googled a bit to understand your connection between Avatar and Stellar Blade.
I don't think Raven is dead. If we are going by the perfect ending with what Mother Sphere said about the future, I could see her taking Raven back and modifying her for her purposes.

Totally agree. I think once you sit with it for a while, then it sets in how good the story is.
It’s because it’s so complicated and obscure. I put 70 hrs in the game and watched story videos and it’s still complicated. Most people ain’t going to put that much time into understanding the backstory.

In fact, Eve didn't get Raven, since she still has a teleporter, so she could hide somewhere and somehow fix herself.
Yes I am hoping for this in a sequel. I think Raven gets so devoted to individuals, so perhaps there is a new character she latches onto in the sequel. Perhaps she is saved by this new individual and she makes her comeback in a sequel this way.
The Raven narrative breaks my heart. She wasn't actually evil... when she found out Mother Sphere's true intentions and the truth about humanity, she lost her mind. I hope that Shift Up makes DLC for Stellar Blade where you can play as either Tachy or Raven... OR... they make a prequel where you play as Raven and/or Tachy. Those two characters are already much beloved by fans of SB, so why not?
I agree with you. Raven just couldn't take that of who she worshipped, Mother Sphere, and the truth that was revealed about her. Then her tendencies to worship shifted onto Adam. I don't think it was necessarily Adam's fault because he had his own motives that he thought were noble himself, but he then used Raven, further pushing her into a downfall. In terms of your thoughts for DLC, I agree... it should definitely by Tachy or Raven as they have really developed into fan favorites. Have a good one and I appreciate your comment.
so cool, bro this answered so many questions. I find the story of Raven really tragic. In the end she is just another being seeking purpose to exist. Very similar to a lot of people today looking for purpose. Why they wake up in the morning and do the things they do. Unfortunately many are lost in this question and gets broken inside and ends up like raven.

Raven's story is a sad one. Despite seeing the truth, she was just a pawn of both Mother Sphere and Adam.

I have a feeling Mother Sphere set up Raven especially with the words on her body frame. I think she sent her there on purpose to find the truth and see if she will complete the mission or collapse. Collapse she did.
Wow, you are right on. I totally agree. The printing of the statement on the nanosuit is kinda F-ed up too. MS just printing out what she thinks that EVE is going to do. Gives me a reminder of Minority Report (how the name of the individual was printed on that wooden sphere).
@unlistednaytiba I do also think Raven's 2nd drop was the last drop that had access to the NETWORK before the Demongorger did it's EMP effect meaning MS knew the location of the two Naytiba locations and had that programmed into her.

Awesome video as always but it still bothers me that all the members of the airborne squads have different names but our Eve is just Eve.
I feel the same. I think it might come down to naming characters to impart some symbolism or thought evocation (raven being a fallen angel / harpy).

Really appreciate your feedback. Glad you posted this comment. Yes, I am making a couple others right now. I'm saving EVE and Adam until a little later cause they are quite involved and longer. Also, I want to cover a couple other characters first because that way I can fully cover their arcs, then not have to incorporate that info into EVE and Adam's respective videos - to not balloon and make those videos overly long. Glad to have you here.
Raven the fallen Angel. I could not help but think of the bible references. Lucifer was a fallen angel who rebelled against the God of all Creation and their grand designs. Raven rebelled against the Ulder Nayiba/Raphael Marks grand designs. Learning from the Tree of Knowledge (the underground facilities of of Human Liberation Front) too fast, drove Raven insane; she could not handle the truth of all things. Those dark truths contradicted all Raven thought, believed, and was taught since the day of her birth/creation. Makes sense of why Eve had to be slow walked to that same Tree, so she could learn, grow and evolve on a conscious level. Then at the crossroads, make a conscious choice of filfilling Mother Sphere's protocol or Rapheal Marks's grand design of a new humanity.
I hear what you're saying. I think Raven's story will continue in the sequel. It will be cool to see which direction shift up wants to go - redemption arc for her or further down the road of darkness.
I'm a bit late to this party but want to contribute to the discussion anyway. While I agree with nearly all of your speculative interpretation, I suggest making a clearer distinction in your script between statements of facts in the lore, backed up by your excellent screenshots, and speculative interpretation. Aren't you concerned viewers might confuse some of those speculations for facts? For example, 24:21 through 26:14 is all speculative. Is reading "@a'en" as "fallen" a fact or a guess? If it is a guess, isn't "Raven" a more likely guess than Fallen? Which one is right? Nobody knows, but stating it as a lore fact equivalent to, for example, the Liberation War being between humans and androids, seems misleading. I don't mind speculation at all, I have plenty of my own, like the name 'Raphael Marks' being another example of biblical naming, as Raphael is an archangel in many judeo-christian traditions. But there is nothing in the text of the game itself that states that as fact, so it's still just my guess at the end of the day.
Yes you are right - speculation based on evidence mixed in with some in game facts. Well, in terms of the Profile videos I've made (Raven and Tachy), it does have a good amount of speculation simply to flesh out their off-screen time to make a more complete store of their character arc and give their profile more depth. My other videos have less speculation. In terms of what you said with Raven instead of Fallen, Raven does make way more sense. And yea, the Christian influences in this game are present throughout, especially the naming choices and conentions.

I would have loved if they made some raven and tachy DLC, but i know shift up said there won't be any. Thay being said, this also mean they have all to work with. They could make a prequel and you'll play as raven, maybe we could learn more about tachy as well. Also, for a sequel, I'd love if we got a super powered eve after merging with the elder naytiba.

So in this video you say that Adam wanted the next Angel (Eve) to experience humans at Xion which Raven did not get to do. But the folks at Xion are AE who think they are human right? Can you help explain this part?
Yes you are correct. Whenever people say human, unless they explicitly say organic humans, they are referring to andro-eidos. I try to differentiate between the two, by saying andro-eidos humans vs. organic humans, but sometimes I think I may not (as you pointed out).

Great video but here is a serious question:
how is Eve supposed to restore humanity after fusing with Adam?
Will humanity be brought back using the eggs inside the nest instead of natural birth?
Will she need a mixture of naytiba dna and beta cores to make new versions of humans or can the naytiba dna replicate the beta cores to make a human being just as strong and capable as an android?
I think she is the first blue print for synthetic human evolution merging with docile Naytiba so that synthetic humans can move away from Mother Sphere's influence. I would like to see Organic Humans written back in like a stasis bunker than they evolve similarly to Eve but with technology and not DNA alteration but that will be up to Shift Up. These are just my thoughts but you have a good question that I have been asking myself.

@@decanus8831 I don't know if there parts were made from the Eidost corporation's designs plus the term was made by synthetic hating facets so I prefer the term synthetic humans or synthetics because I actually like Eve and Lilly and the other characters. But you do you. No problem with that term.

Kinda like starship troopers. It's a giant naytiba. Right after Tachy pulls EVE from her pod and EVE's nanosuit covers her body you can see the giant naytiba firing an energy blast into space.

Well, the story for Stellar Blade has been really fun for me to try to unpack. Definitely wanna rock with Stellar Blade for the time being.
I am looking forward to Exodus, whatever game comes next from HouseMarque and/or Bioware (Mass Effect), but those all seem years off. I would love to make videos on those games. I probably played 1000 hours of campaign and ME3 multiplayer back in the day, got lost in Returnal (in a good way), and really wanna see what the devs do with Exodus, so until we get those games, I think I wanna keep making Stellar Blade.
Also, I'm a photo mode guy, and I hear Stellar Blade is gonna get one soon. So I'll maybe sink a ton of hours into photo mode when it comes out.
