The journey to HD

hi guys, hi, help me. ok.
on my computer every single youtube vid looks just as pixalated even in 960p or whatever.
i need you people to tell me what looks good.
the last 2 were recorded in slow-mo and then i just compressed them according to the original clip's lenge, thats why theyre better.

The quality doesn't matter so much for me, what's much more difficult to watch is the distorted aspect ratio - all your previous videos, and half of the videos in this test, are squashed vertically, which feels wrong all the way through, and perhaps leads people to say it's "low quality", when it's really a ratio issue. So I would definitely say choose the version with the correct ratio. Even using borders would be preferable, although that probably isn't necessary, since some of your clips have the right ratio without borders.

Hmm. Well, lets make a comparison. (this is going off of the very first two clips you show)
First style:
+ good fps
+ good video quality (looks HD)
- bad sound quality
- Video seems to be pressed down and the spy's arms go to the edge of the screen, which doesn't look normal (like it has always been in your vids, maybe because of resolution/aspect ratio?)
Second style:
+ good video quality (looks HD)
+ Video does not have the pressed-down look like the first style did
+ good sound quality
- worse fps - slightly choppy
So, going by ONLY the amount of positives and negatives, the second style looks like the way to go. However, fps is a huge factor for me, so that makes it kind of tied. If you could possibly make the second style have decent fps, then it would be perfect, but if you have to go with one or the other than I am surely at a loss, as they both have their ups and downs. In the end I guess I'd say that you should always go the route with the best fps.

good fps and good sound quality would be the best.
Having crisp sounds with good fps makes it way more enjoyable than better quality, muddy sound and shitty fps

fraps fullsize over lawena. i was messing around with the settings with lawena, and anything over 854X480 completely killed the fps..
is it better than the usual quality though?
