    Thank you for putting this on RUclips. I too had a similar problem with my wife's 2013 Jeep. Had the same problem for about 1 and 1/2 years, took it to a Jeep dealer and spent a lot of money and they could not fix it. I did what you suggested and the Jeep drives like a new vehicle. I'm even getting about 3 more miles per gallon. I rarely comment on social media. I just wanted to say Thank You for taking the time and posting the solution!

    Bingo! Same thing happened to my 2016 Jeep just was not running great and it finally pulled a code and check engine light came on…it was the Crank Position Sensor and called NAPA and they said they had one in stock. I bought it and changed it with like one bolt holding it on and drove it the next morning…OMG…it was like a new car…fun, quick, responsive again and me very happy!!!

    I have a 2012 RUBI having the exact same issue and of course no codes to help diagnose the cause. This is a manual which would jerk me around with every hiccup. With almost 155K on the clock thought it was fuel pump related. Read on line about the crankshaft position sensor so changed it yesterday. So far so good. Thinking of also changing the camshaft sensors which might be overkill but with my current mileage might not hurt. Glad your is fixed and hopefully hasn't had any more issues.

    This video made my day. Have the same 2013 Jeep, and had the same problem. Also frustrated me for a little over a year. Started so infrequently I thought it might be a transmission issue so got a flush, nope. Then a new air filter, nope. Then a dealer guy drove it, no luck. How about a new MAP sensor, nah. Finally found this vid down a rabbit hole that began when I started using the adjective “hiccup” to describe the feeling in acceleration. Got the part, installed and the Jeep feels brand new. I can’t believe how easy that was to fix and how hard it was to figure out. Hell yeah. Thank you. I was about at my wits end ;)

    Thank you for the video!!! My 2015 Jeep Wrangler unlimited at highway speeds lost power and had the RPMs go to 0 for a split second and would regain power and be fine for several days before doing it again. This happened four times to me. I was telling my dad about it at Christmas yesterday, he said, “it might be your crank sensor”. Well, thanks to my phone listening in on our conversation that night, I was scrolling down my RUclips feed and found your video, 3rd video down. And thought what the hell, I’ll try it for $20. Today the jeep ran great, I picked up the sensor at O’Reilly’s, went to the gym. When I was leaving the gym, for the first time the Jeep starting running like shit and had no power. Misfiring and finally threw a code and what do you know it was the crank position sensor. I changed the sensor and cleared the code in the McDonald’s parking lot and the Jeep ran like new on the way home. Thank you again for taking the time to make the video!

    I had one of them go on my 2015 Rubicon on same engine. Scan tool told me which one to change. My symptom was traction lock light would come on over 75Mph, which would lock up rear brakes which Jeep simply overpowered. I had to turn off traction control from switch and when I stopped, smelled the bakes burning. It would also throw the check engine light. Once crankshaft sensor replaced.. all fixed. Occasionally I got EVAP check engine light on also, that has gone away also since changing this crank shaft sensor so maybe it was all related and threw codes being on same BUS network.

Only had just done 60,000Kms started about a 1.5years ago when in crusie control and it cancelled out of it and showed the red lighting bolt and would surge forward under its own power on throttle. No engine codes ever. Pulled over did the google mechanic thing and did the throttle peddle reset and drove on. Didnt saw the issue again untill 6months, same issue fixed it with peddle reset. Then became monthly and then once ever week and became daily thing at which point i removed the i-drive unit to peddle and same results if anything i dont have to do the peddle reset as it just clears when engine is powered off and back on again.Jeep starts fine and drive it, as soon as it has load on engine or steep incline it will throw the red lighting bolt and hesitate slightly i dont give it anymore load on engine and use the lower gear to get up hills at a slow speed. But yes is PIA so thought if better get this issue resolved before it stops all together.

The 3.6 V6 in my stick JT gladiator feels gutless and no torque under 3000 rpm compared to both 4.0-Liters in my YJ and XJ. Is that normal? From 3000 RPM to 6000 RPM the 3.6 makes great top end power. However at about 4000 RPM there feels like a dead spot or flat spot or a weak spot in the acceleration and then after a fraction of a second it begins to accelerate again on through 5000 and 6000 RPM. I am still having issues even after replacing the crankshaft sensor on my Jeep Wrangler 2013 😭😭

      how many miles are on your jeep, and have you had any check engine lights? I hear changing the cam position sensor fixed a similar issue, but you may just need new spark plugs if you have over 100000 miles on them.

    i actually keep these extra sensors in my jeep, i have a crankshaft one, camshaft and extra speed sensors just in case, but i havent had any issues with mine, and she is at 104000 miles and drives stong.

    this is good to know. I have a 2014 with 110k miles and have noticed not so much a hesitation, but a bit of a hiccup/jerkiness to the acceleration, but it's really minor for now and I think it's improved since i changed out the old air filter recently. gonna monitor it to see if it's related (already replaced the spark plugs and trans fluid). these jeeps do have quirks. really have to follow the maintenance to a tee in order to keep them running properly.

    My Jeep started stalling when putting it in reverse after start up. The second start always took care of it. It happened the other day after driving a bit and going into reverse. I had to rev the rpms to keep it from stalling. It seemed to work it out and now good. Did you experience this?

    • @matthew9826
      @matthew9826  9 месяцев назад +1

      No, it was only when already in motion. Rarely did it happen going slower than 10 mph. However, this issue may affect each engine differently.
