I have a 2016 Jeep. Today, while I was driving, my entire dashboard started flickering. I pulled over, put it in park, and turned it off. There was a complete loss of power, and nothing was running. About 30 minutes later, the power came back on. Do you think this could solve the issue?
@@casanovajazzy Sounds like you have an electrical problem. Try checking the ground on your battery terminal
Very nice solution, I am also considering installing this solution, but I would be interested to know whether the tabelt alone is sufficient as a chime. Is it possible to set an acoustic notification when someone rings the doorbell or intercom? And is it loud enough as chime?
@@schoppi91 honestly I don't know. I will give it a try sometime over the weekend and get back with you. But from the experience I've had I've honestly not noticed the display making an audible chime noise. I've got chimes all over the house plus my phone so I haven't really paid attention to the screen when the doorbell rarely goes off

I’m encountering a very similar issue with my 2015, gonna try this fix and see what happens!
What sort of clearance does it require inside the wall? Did the studs get in the way?
had to trim the studs down for it to fit so I made sure wall was not load bearing.
Any issues with the odometer not reading the correct speed after changing to 35's?

I am still having issues even after replacing the crankshaft sensor on my Jeep Wrangler 2013 😭😭
how many miles are on your jeep, and have you had any check engine lights? I hear changing the cam position sensor fixed a similar issue, but you may just need new spark plugs if you have over 100000 miles on them.
Just changed one on a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee with about 75k miles. Worked perfectly! No CEL but it would jerk while accelerating at lower speeds. Thank you for this video!!
@@RudeGarage13 happy to help!
I did that to mine 2013, and it still sputtering! Does it need to have a comper reset
@@ChrisMiller-uf7lj not sure usually if this is the issue it fixes itself after the new part is installed. I've heard of a couple people replacing the cam position sensors and fixing the problem as well.
How many 4k cameras can this display? I was very disappointed recently when I bought a viewport and found out you can only display a few 4k cameras before it runs out of resources.
Great tire choice and rock sliders!!!
Can’t you just use an iPad and the app
@@AW-yv9sq Yes! you can use any tablet. Getting a monitor that's purpose built for this was just more ideal for me. I didn't want to deal with possibly overcharging a battery and running USB cables through the wall trying to hide wires. It was just easier to run an ethernet cable. Also, by the time I factored in purchasing an iPad close to this size and finding a wall mount that would work, I'd be spending close to the same amount of money. But if you got one laying around it's definitely worth trying.
I have a 2012 RUBI having the exact same issue and of course no codes to help diagnose the cause. This is a manual which would jerk me around with every hiccup. With almost 155K on the clock thought it was fuel pump related. Read on line about the crankshaft position sensor so changed it yesterday. So far so good. Thinking of also changing the camshaft sensors which might be overkill but with my current mileage might not hurt. Glad your is fixed and hopefully hasn't had any more issues.
I have a 2015 jk and it randomly dies while im on highway. Radio lights and electronics still on. I coast to a stop, turn it off then it cranks right back up and i can drive again. It never runs sluggish or hesitates the engine just shuts off randomly. So annoying and dangerous. Going to try this. I hope this fixes it.

What camera are you using as your baby monitor? I am looking at a few different options for this exact application and would love to hear your input. Thanks!
@@erniemikey we are using the G5 flex. It's mounted to the ceiling in the corner of the room and works excellent. We're just using a cheap Samsung tablet running the protect app. The only issue we get from time to time is if the unifi system updates, sometimes you'll lose the camera feed unless you reload it. But I set the auto update to happen during the day instead of night and that fixed the problem. Odds are it was just the tablet and or the app acting up during updates. The microphone is very sensitive and clear. We can hear her snoring/breathing lol. The disadvantage is it's not a PTZ that wasn't available at the time like it is now. It would be great to zoom in on her bed and get a better picture but for what it is, it's worked very well for us.
@@matthew9826 I was looking at domes/turret but just had someone recommend looking at the flex line and then I found your video. Was it easy enough to position from the ceiling mounting option? Would you install the same setup again? Thanks for the insight!
@@erniemikey yeah if I was wanting to get a stationary view like this again. I'd do the same thing. It was simple enough to install, the bottom base of the camera slides off and is able to be screwed to the ceiling. Then you just snap the camera back into the base. At first I wasn't sure if the camera would actually stay up there due to the camera's weight, but it hasn't budged and stays stationary. I also didn't run any ethernet through the ceiling. I ended up using a nearby ethernet port and ran a cord up the corner to the camera. This is just a temporary camera that's easy to take down when she's old enough and all that will be left is two small drywall anchors in the ceiling that are barely noticeable. I didn't want to drill a hole in the ceiling and have something to patch when I remove the camera.
OMG!!! I can't thank you enough. Mine started about 8 months ago and I was going insane. I even replaced my valve body because I "thought" I knew what it might be. $20 instead of $500.....I feel like an idiot.

@@matthew9826well mine seems to be doing the same thing as yours! I took it to the dealer and they can’t find anything wrong with it! They drove it for around 12 miles and nothing! Now that happened to me once going up a mountain here in Tucson! There’s no codes showing up, but I feel like it’s loosing power. @@matstermindyeah I ended up using red loctite LOL. They were coming unplugged quite often
Was ur car jolting? I think this might be my problem as well I took may car to the dealer because my tire pressure light flashes and my car drives like it has a lose of power and I thought it might be my shark plugs becuase I bought my car used from someone however the sensors are brand new no check engine light and now my car keeps shutting off randomly if I’m dealing or driving slow. It never happens when I’m driving over 15 miles. 🥲
I never had an issue with the engine shutting off, jolting however yeah it was doing that. It's a long shot but also a very cheap and easy job. If you want to at least replace it and knock that off the list of possibilities.
So when you started pressing your pedal to accelerate, it would bog down a little and then pick back up? That’s what mine does, but not always, which is confusing.
It was usually when I was already moving but yea it did that to me every now and then as well.
Wow no check engine light ima try that with mine I just thought I have a ticker it might be that too lol
Well kind sir, 3 years later I watched your short video and indeed it made my day. My '13 Town & Country has a new genuine Mopar CPS and it hasn't run this well in 18 months. You're welcome! I am very happy to hear this video helped you out!!
can i get a android tablet and make the same thing?
Oh yeah, you can totally use a tablet if you'd like. I'm sure someone makes a kit to put the tablet in the wall depending on which tablet you get.
Keep in mind a tablet isnt powered through power over ethernet and is subject to recharge constantly. Shorter lifespan and wifi dependancy can add to latency and slower response time
Another jeep saved! Thank you bro it worked for me 🙏

I miss diagnosed a vw jetta and I changed the crank sensor and it gained more power too. From my experience i always thought the crank sensor ether works or doesn't now i became a believer. And it still doesn't make sense.
Agreed, maybe it has something to do with this style sensor. All the sensors I've changed in the past just straight up failed but they were also on the outside of the engine.
@@matthew9826 the only thing I remember when I changed it the plug on the outside was soaked in oil and I cleaned it before I installed the new crank sensor. Maybe that also had to do something with it.
Random question. But are you able to have this also control apps I.e Spotify ? Ideally I’d love a solution for my cameras and music all in one.
As far as I know you can download apps to it. Honestly I haven't done anything with it since it was put in the wall. All it does is show me my cameras. I recall there being internet access but you have to have that selected for it to be on the screen. If I find time to play around with it, I'll let you know
@@matthew9826 Yeah that'd be great honestly. If that touchpanel can use apps or even the browser to access Spotify that will pretty much be all that I need. Hard to find someone that will work well with Spotify/Sonos and ubiquity cameras - Granted I can just use an iPad but would prefer to be in that ubiquity environment.
Thanks for the review - just ordered!
What running boards are you using and are you happy with them? I’m thinking of going with the AMP Power XL
Go Rhino Dominator D1 Side Steps I've had several running boards over the years and these are definitely holding up. A lot easier to get in and out of the Jeep both in the front and back
@@matthew9826Thanks for the reply. I jair took a look at them online and they’re quite a bit less cost wise that the power ones. Do they stick out far enough to comfortably step in and out?
My wife’s 2013 isn’t doing that but it suddenly loses power steering and the gas pedal doesn’t work at all. You have to pullover and turn the jeep off and back on and it’s fine. You think changing the CPS will fix it? Or am I having a different issue? I’ve looked all over and have seen others with the same issue but no apparent fix.
With your power steering pump going off intermittently, I'd at least checked the serpentine belt and fluid. It's not electric to my knowledge and hooked up to the serpentine belt. As for the gas pedal, that's hard to tell. The drive-by wire might be compromised somewhere or the pedal sensor needs replaced. I'd start by checking the plug going into the gas pedal and throttle body seeing if they are fully plugged in. These are just things I would check. Definitely consult a mechanic if you don't feel comfortable doing that.
@@matthew9826 my first thought was the belt too but it’s fine every time I’ve checked. Brought it to a mechanic and he couldn’t find anything wrong. I guess it can’t hurt to give it a shot. Thanks for your input!
Great video, bud! A couple of things: 1.) That hood looks amazing! 2.) Is that a bit of a valve cover gasket issue down there or is it early and my eyes are playing tricks on me? Anyway, thanks for posting!
Thanks! It's apparently a common problem with these 3.6s I currently have a gladiator with the same engine and I had to warranty it out for the exact same reason. It's the gasket for the timing chain cover. Luckily it started leaking before my warranty was up. I bought it brand new in 2021 and it started leaking around 2023. My JK started leaking right after the warranty of course lol.
Ok, I got this display and I'm trying to figure out if I could even use the flush mount. Are there any studs behind the the mount there, The display is super thick, I migh have to screw the Vesa Mount to the wall and call it good enough. Any pictures with the display removed would be great.
It's installed on a wall that wasn't load bearing so I cut just enough wood out to make it fit. There was an intercom in that spot as well so I didn't have much cutting to do since there was an existing hole.
@@matthew9826 So with half inch drywall, you only had to cut half to 1 inch out of the studs to make it fit?
@@gift3rs yeah I only had one stud in the way. I used an oscillating multi tool and cut about half the stud out.
@@matthew9826 Probably the best way if You're going through the trouble anyway and have limited stud spacing is to sink the vesa mount into the drywall to where the locking tab is and mount it to plywood and secure the plywood to neighboring studs, you'd probably start off with just as big of a hole to get everything in and have to patch the drywall, but you'd save $200 and wouldn't have to cut out studs, unfortunately for my setup I have a stud right where the display locks, so I just screwed the vesa mount to the stud and put a block behind the other side and patched the hole from the 7" flush mount.
My Jeep started stalling when putting it in reverse after start up. The second start always took care of it. It happened the other day after driving a bit and going into reverse. I had to rev the rpms to keep it from stalling. It seemed to work it out and now good. Did you experience this?
No, it was only when already in motion. Rarely did it happen going slower than 10 mph. However, this issue may affect each engine differently.
@@matthew9826thank you. I swapped it out yesterday and hoping it helps.
At that cost and easy, it is worth the try.
