I don’t think I’ve ever genuinely crashed out over a video game, but I’ve definitely been tilted before. Sometimes I do take a break, sometimes I grab my friends to take the edge off. Thank you, I probably needed to hear this.
You uploaded this just as I got off playing an incredibly mediocre Invisible Woman match. I will not apologize but man I just can't get down the tracking on those tennis balls to save my life (or the Special Olympic diver trying to run back to me with 8HP after missing half their combo).
This is good advice for video games in general: the moment it stops being fun put the controller down. This doesn’t mean dc, throw a match, or never play again, just do something else irl for a bit to collect yourself and remind yourself it doesn’t matter. You can use any justification you want to, but at the end of the day the main purpose of any video game is to have fun(even the climb to rank up is to have fun by seeing yourself improve), and the moment that stops is the moment that you are just wasting your own time. And life is too short already to waste time.
I agree with the general sentiment that the only constant between games is you, and if you are on a loss streak it’s up to you to change that. However, there’s actual verifiable evidence that when on a loss streak the game actively seeks to pair you with others also on a loss streak. That being said you can overcome this, however the game is (sometimes) literally working against you when selecting your teammates (allegedly, based on lots of match history proof people are sharing). If you start on a loss streak I think it’s better to take a couple hours break and reset mental.
Taking a break's not only good for your mental, but I've heard of a few anecdotes of people going on huge winstreaks after making a habit of quitting out and taking a few hours or so break after the first loss.
Already by seeing the title, I completely agree mate. Sometimes you play like shit when you feel just like shit, if you rage just take a break from the stage. You always come back stronger and sharper. It's like working out, get the doms out the way and just strengthen that Rivals muscle.
I wont apologize for Hulking out in chat and irl when I'm forced to solo tank for several dozens of games, and nobody seems to appreciate the thankless job I do
actually real my shoulders have the weight of the multiverse on them every game for 20 games in a row and even when I’m mvp I don’t even get any recognition
Even if your the best player on your team, and it was objectively your teams fault that you lost, still look for ways to improve yourself. You probably would still lose the game, but you cant control your teammates skill. You can control your own skill, and increasing it is what you should be focusing one. On another note, TDTwo made a video about different soft categories of dps, do you think there is such such unofficial sub-classes?
This video hits, my friend doesn’t like playing with me because I either I crash randomly or don’t flex and sometimes I just want to walk away from it and play by myself
I’ve started to try to calm down more in games, control what I can, let go of what I can’t. If I’m getting heated in comp, I either stop playing or hop into qp and just vibe, play whoever, not caring very much about winning or losing, just having fun. I have fun in competitive, and really try to win there, but I definitely get more upset about that
There are two reasons why I only play on weekends and the occasional Friday. 1, My dad works from home and needs the internet. 2, I can only handle so much action before I start getting irritable, and I'd rather not be irritable all week
The title overrall could go for so many games for me personally with rivals i don't even get mad anymore since I'm still in the early stage so i am still learning stuff even with losing there are good games both teams tried their best, honestly i say for some people it's the attitude they bring into a match if they will win or not, at least try till the game is over then think what lead to that loss
I apply this logic to Hunt Showdown. The only reason I have as many hours in Hunt as I do is because I know when to stop. Three aggravating losses in a row? Time to stop. First game of the day is amazing? Time to quit while I'm ahead and ride that high for the rest of the day.
I can’t thank the developers enough for the ability to progress missions and events vs A.I., and letting us matchmake with other human players while we do it. Oftentimes when I boot up the game, I just want that good feeling from playing around without having to sweat, and it’s good therapy for when I’m frustrated against real players.
Played my best psylocke game ever and still lost and told my friend I was playing with let's take an hour and get back on, perfect video to watch for the time
I used to get really mad at my teammates before hearing this advice. ALWAYS blame yourself whenever you lose a match(without being too hard on yourself). Even if it wasn’t your fault, there was always something you could have done better. And by thinking through what it was REALLY helps you improve for next time. For example: you can’t choose how good your support’s aim is, but you CAN choose to position yourself more defensively and near health packs as a response.
I get the “there’s always something you could’ve done better” shit, but let’s be honest. There are some solo-Que games where you can be Jesus Christ himself and it wouldn’t have made much of a difference
I will say this. As Far as the "Just Play Another Game" Thing. A Lot of People playing Marvel Rivals Are Playing it because up until now the Only Game Even Remotley Like this was Overwatch. The Highs of this game are unlike any other game available. And To a Lot of People the Rage and Frustration is worth it because it scratches an Itch that nothing else will.
NGL, I play maybe four or five bot matches for every QP in Rivals because I just want to grind my Dailies and decompress without having to sweat it out too hard. Maybe that ratio flips at some point, but right now I'd rather just enjoy the game at my own pace and worry about getting good later.
When i feel myself getting angry, i stop and do 40 push ups, sit ups and 20 dead hang pull ups and 20 chin ups. Sure it isn't a lot of exercise but when you do it enough it adds up.
I have friend who’s always crashing out over every little thing. I’m not mad at him but just sad about that because we have so many good times and laughs and he just ignores it because he didn’t have a even kd
Took a break after finding out this game probably has EOMM and I’m either stomping or being stomped in comp consistently. Give me people around my actual skill level and I’ll come back
I'm pretty sure the people who need this talking to are the ones who think smoking grass is the same as touching it. On a side note, jebbles is almost at 20k subs, less get him there, boys.
My problem isn't even anger and frustration, I curse at the person but without turning on the microphone, and when I transfer the call and as calmly as possible, LMAO. (But inside I'm furious) Sometimes I can channel that anger and make myself play well! My real problem with this type of game is addiction, I suffer from a really bad depression so I'm very vulnerable to addictions, I thought I could balance it but I couldn't, so I made a radical choice,I deleted the game, maybe one day I'll get better and play again, in the meantime I'll go back to single player games that I love so much, for me they are a UNIQUE experience, you are left with an emptiness when you finish and ask "What now?", it's like reading a book, but with an extra spice because you lived it firsthand!
I do like competitive solely for people being less likely to run 5 dps and leave me as solo tank or strategist LOL. I play the game to have fun, no point getting upset over a loss.
Honestly, I learnt to stop getting tilted and crashing out after playing a bunch of fromsoft titles, the games are just an excellent teacher of 'stfu and reflct on your mistakes', now, game outcomes in any game have no influence on me, however i must admit, ppl being deplorable, toxic beings in VC is rather annoying, especially if its one of those guys saying 'heal me' after being on the other side of the map and then say they will throw if i keep getting kills as a 'healer' and all i should do is heal, honestly should have muted him but i just didnt have the energy. And he still trash talked, even after we won, or ppl throwing a tantrum in VC after their character got picked is also extremely annoying. Unfortunately, the people you get on your team are just a roll of the dice. I even made new friends after losing and laughing about it in vc
I only get a little irritated now that I’m an adult when I play competitive. Crashing out like some streamers is just cringey. People need to realize it’s just a game (me too sometimes, and I often do). Anyway that Warlock skin from the battle pass (the one in the thumbnail) goes so insanely hard.
i watched this video, and was like "ok, fair". loaded into a comp lobby and before we even get to hero selection i hear "im throwing, f**k yall" he went 0 and 35 i so badly wish i was joking
I'm a quick play, conquest and even doom Match enjoyer. That Lion 3v3 with locked characters is the only mode I actively dislike. I only played competitively to get the blood Shield reward skin for invisible woman. So yeah fun of the game player here. Although unlike season 0. I do wanna try for Grand Master eventually for the little badge thing.
Im curious. This is like the 4th youtube channel I’ve seen where you change the colors of enemies and allies around and I’m not like annoyed or anything I just don’t know why so many people do it
When you watch in the match replay, it automatically assigns team one as blue, and team two as red. It changes the colors simply based on where you spawn.
Cool man, yep I don’t get mad so I left. Got bored and came back anyway because you are a classy gentleman. The invisible woman bit was a turn though lol
Oh I get toxic in this game alright BUT. I don't go and say something insanly insulting, racist or just plain offensive in game chat aimed at my team mates or the enemy that's rolling my team. I take a breath and say what I am mad about in a weird or funny way, because when I do that I nearly always make myself laugh and realize it just doesn't matter because it's 1 round in a video game ill have forgotten about in half an hour, and it's not worth me screaming at my screen for. Makes me able to laugh through any game good or bad
The game is definitely rigged in some way in how it matches. I didn't necessarily think this was true until last week where it was made extremely obvious. It all happened at the range of plat1 to diamond 3 ranks up area. I'd get to within 1 win of hitting diamond then I'd lose. At first I didn't think much of it, but the patterns got so predictable that I could tell before the game even started if I'd win or lose, but most of all, I could predict the type of players I'd be teamed with. It would go like this, let's say I'm at 0/100 in plat 1 and each win is +25. I'd have three good matches. Not stomps, maybe not even win them all, BUT the players all had game knowledge and knew what they were doing. Team fights would last 2+ min of back and forths, it was fun. If I happened to lose one, I'd have 2 more good matched like that, enough to get me at 75/100, or one win from diamond. This match would always be different. The players were obviously not on the same level as the previous games. Game wasn't fun. Everyone doing their own thing. Trickling. Team fights last like 20sec. It took me a few times of this to realize the pattern, but once I did I literally knew prior to searching for a match what the outcome would be. I played for the fun of those times I had teams that knew what they were doing and was bored the other matches. Eventually, because wins are worth more I got to a point where I ranked up. But the pattern continued predictably and now the bad game was always when I was like 5/100 in diamond 3. Despite losses, not until I accrued enough wins to eventually push to like 15/100 did I get 3 straight matches with these good teams in diamond 3 to push to about 80/100 in diamond 3. But then the pattern repeated: that rank up match, despite being diamond players was always obviously lacking teammates (and not that we lost, I could just tell they were less skilled). So the game definitely dangles rank ups at you then purposely tries to make you lose to keep you trying to rank up. Its matchmaking system made it really obvious. At that point it'll do that for like 10-15 cycles, meaning it wants you to get 10-15 wins regardless of when they come to push up your general floor, then it'll let you rank up. Rinse and repeat.
There was a time where i got angry so easy in videogames, but i grew up and got more real problems in life😂 now if a gsme stressen me i just go of and play something else or as you say go Touch grass
Bro I was forced to take a break my right analog stick drift is too much it randomly broke I tried to play last night n for the first time I was as wack as my team I wanted to cry it really appeared like I wasn’t as great as I am I was tempted to message the other team what’s going on 😢
You must be getting some terrible Invisible Woman's becauze I do pretty well with her in most matches. Her projectile is short to incentivise her pushing the front line more and she has a lot of tools to assist DPS and tanks in getting kills. If she gets overwhelmed she can just put up a shield and self heal or double jump away, go invisible and self heal. She is genuinely such a good asset when played right but she is a bit trickier to get down than most other supports.
What do you think of Invisible women flankers? I’ve had one on my team and it’s frustrating as they pick the worst times to flank the majority of the time and on the other end getting flanked by an invisible woman is so funny because they do absolutely nothing. I main Adam and even if I’m alone and get flanked by an invisible women, I can take her out fairly easily. She just seems very underwhelming as a character.
@Manoplys She can flank but won't actually get kills 9/10 times. This should only be done if youre running 3 supps on your team so that the other two can pick up your slack. Even then you should save flanking for when you need to distract enemy supps in order for your teammates to kill the people they would have otherwise been healing.
I don’t think I’ve ever genuinely crashed out over a video game, but I’ve definitely been tilted before. Sometimes I do take a break, sometimes I grab my friends to take the edge off. Thank you, I probably needed to hear this.
I’m about to start listening. I been crashing out lately on these big losing streaks and keep playing. I probably need to hear what he’s gonna say
You uploaded this just as I got off playing an incredibly mediocre Invisible Woman match. I will not apologize but man I just can't get down the tracking on those tennis balls to save my life (or the Special Olympic diver trying to run back to me with 8HP after missing half their combo).

I remember being an emptionally weak person during ranked, now i accept my loss as just a mere daily appearance.
I wont apologize for Hulking out in chat and irl when I'm forced to solo tank for several dozens of games, and nobody seems to appreciate the thankless job I do
this is a real ass struggle. Solo tanking is crazy and people don’t talk about it enough
actually real my shoulders have the weight of the multiverse on them every game for 20 games in a row and even when I’m mvp I don’t even get any recognition
So you play for validation from strangers?
The hardest part of it is knowing all this information and still getting upset anyways.
Even if your the best player on your team, and it was objectively your teams fault that you lost, still look for ways to improve yourself. You probably would still lose the game, but you cant control your teammates skill. You can control your own skill, and increasing it is what you should be focusing one.

I certainly feel characters like storm and fantastic play more like hybrids if that's what the question means.
This video hits, my friend doesn’t like playing with me because I either I crash randomly or don’t flex and sometimes I just want to walk away from it and play by myself

I have fun in competitive, and really try to win there, but I definitely get more upset about that
The only times I get tilted mid game is when my teammates yell at me in vc/text chat. That's when I swap to Jeff and throw them off the map
There are two reasons why I only play on weekends and the occasional Friday. 1, My dad works from home and needs the internet. 2, I can only handle so much action before I start getting irritable, and I'd rather not be irritable all week

I understand passion but the amount of people I see getting genuinely mad from this game is insane

Fair , there's also the lost cause aka the league player that came to marvel which none of this will apply sadly
What motivated you to make this Video?
You going to be taking a break from rivals for a while?
I noticed a great deal of people who let themselves be frustrated by this game, so I figured I'd give a PSA.
When I get very upset at Competitive, I take like 3 days off or just play Practice vs the AI if I get a kick for the game.
Took a break after finding out this game probably has EOMM and I’m either stomping or being stomped in comp consistently. Give me people around my actual skill level and I’ll come back
I'm pretty sure the people who need this talking to are the ones who think smoking grass is the same as touching it. On a side note, jebbles is almost at 20k subs, less get him there, boys.
smoking gras would probably be more effective in keeping them from raging.

I don't rage, I get tilted at most. Today I got tilted. I went to play Minecraft.
Anyway that Warlock skin from the battle pass (the one in the thumbnail) goes so insanely hard.
The thing getting me heated about this game lately has been the absurdly bad optimization. They gotta do something about this game's memory leaks.
whats the invisible woman strays for😭
They are WARRANTED
For invisible woman players of course.
As an invisible woman player, yeah we are annoying but a small percentage of us know how to heal and work with our teams. Like 5% of us, but still
@ 5% is a little generous lol.
@XNitrous .5%?
i watched this video, and was like "ok, fair". loaded into a comp lobby and before we even get to hero selection i hear "im throwing, f**k yall"
he went 0 and 35
i so badly wish i was joking

So yeah fun of the game player here.

Same but replace the quick play with practice vs ai cause when I first played quick match I got stomped really bad 😅
He’s getting better at starlord
I only *wish* I could get similar sentiments across to some fellas I play with. Largely W takes, good video.
I have no grass, sorry
This is the advice I needed. Thanks for this video
lol at the invisible women rant mid video

I personally haven’t played the game since like February 19th, best decision of my life lol
1:35 🏳️🌈 :)

I only rage at Galacta and her stupid screechy anime voice "point out the obvious" commentary.
