This is probably the only Collection category where it gets love. It's not much slower than the EGA version, actually, because EGA has that 4-minute ending before you're allowed to export. VGA's ending and export screen is so much faster... but you have to hear the password to the cave to avoid Fred, which adds on at least a minute, making VGA a slower net speed. I hope we find a VGA skip for Fred. Then, VGA becomes the default for Collections and it would be neat to see the swap - we used to do QFG1EGA -> QFG2VGA, and I'd love to see change to QFG1VGA -> QFG2EGA (see we discovered the wrong warp in the system).
I've known about this one for three or four years. It requires some hackery to make it work, so it isn't allowed in normal circumstances. HOWEVER, a month ago, a legitimate skip was found. Here's a link queued up to the moment of me doing it during a non-hackery run ruclips.net/video/MEBTzpnZH-o/видео.htmlsi=2ce30FQGY1YGxUbI&t=1672
That ending screen is a much better way of doing the credit, IMO. Very interactive. So interactive that people think the game is broken because the ending never comes. The trick is to stop clicking and just wait. LOL
This was a lot of fun to watch! I'm not sure if I want to learn this catagory, but it's there a resource to learn the any% catagory for Quest for Glory 3 on its own?
To skip the Open spell, maybe not. But to kill Fred at all, yes. It’s been tested and not even perfect play (tool-assisted speedrun) can kill Fred the Troll at starting stats. In VGA, we’d have to free the baronet somehow to hear the password. Fred Skip is now the one of the remaining Holy Grails of speedrunning the series.
I love how the third game's boss is only slightly more out-of-nowhere in the speedrun than he is in the actual game
Yeah, he’s a bit of an odd duck. Rakeesh does mention him stopping the demon wizard in the past, but he’s definitely a low point for villains.
I'm happy the VGA version turned out to be more optimal for QFG1. It's the version I grew up playing.

All these years and you finally got a way to glitch out QFG4! thats awesome!!

@@MisterMiller just watched the video, man that’s awesome, who’d of thought open would actually of hit the door
Is the baron’s son hanging from the ceiling at the end of 1?!?! Whaaaaat?!

I have questions.
I always do. Highly questionable questions.

Here’s a link to the Discord. We’ll help anyone learn any category. discord.gg/QwhuWWH
Starting with VGA is very very highly questionable lol.
That ending is SO much faster. I gain something like 3 minutes right there.
@@MisterMiller EGA looks so much nicer tho lol but I'll give you a pass for glitch save skipping my least favorite.
@@MisterMiller is it necessary for the stat glitching too?

@@MisterMiller sorry, to clarify: is using the VGA version necessary to GET that stat glitch, or is there a comparable glitch in the EGA?
This video is even educational for the little conquistadors as they can count along!
Wait, what!? How did you just one shot the troll because you didn't say "hiddengoseek"?
And floating over the desert it 2?
Seems I've missed a lot of new tech
Take a look at my Strength stat at the start. ;)
And the desert tech in 2 is the combination of two or three techs that ALL came together at the right time and in the right way. :)
@MisterMiller is there some place explaining those techs? Do you have an explainer video?
