It's because in songs like Drive, they are using autotune as an effect, and not to correct their pitch. They sounded AMAZING live, so they really don't need autotune to pitch correct their singing, but they sometimes add it so that it has a certain effect

it's to add a certain effect to their voice, not to correct it, they're just playing with it to sound different, autotune is used a lot for effects
