Great story and well told. I love how your witty humor sneaks in for the quickest moments, adding interest and alternate light to the artists.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Dali *suffered* from the imagination that he was *only a replacement* of his dead brother.
An eloquent and sophisticated analysis of a complicated relationship. Most satisfying. Thank you --.
Much appreciated, glad you enjoyed! 😊
Very enjoyable.
People fall in love when their respective neurosis perfectly overlap.
Thanks for the video, you have a very clear and professional means of presentation. I'm a fine art framer and get to work with a variety of artists' works, Dali's portfolios are undoubtedly my favorite to frame. I've always been fascinated with his life and dynamic with Gala, so thanks again for making this video for others to learn
My pleasure!
Couple’s reflect off on each other. Look at our parents and coupling friends. Dali and gala were both pretty intense and sexually crazed as well as determined and manipulative. It made sense why they attracted each other. Not to mention their dark sides as well.
This is so true. We’re all mirrors of each other in a way and to some degree. But romantic relationships tend to REALLY show us deeper parts of ourselves from the other persons reflection. Very interesting. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment 🥰
Stephanie! This is a topnotch documentary! Thanks for posting!
Thank YOU for watching!
You’ve sparked such an intense interest in art in me. Thank you
I'm so glad!
Such a good video!!

nice work. Thank you.
You appear to be a wonderful guide.
Stephanie your content is so dope…keep going!!! 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽
Thank you so much! I’ve got more in the making!
Unfortunately, for reasons that remain unclear and contrary to the wishes of Dali and Gala, Salvador Dali's burial site is situated within the "Theater Museum" instead of the Gala castle. This is a source of great sadness...
Yes! This is a shame they went against his wishes.
Well… Perhaps Gala left a note saying “definitely don’t bury us together” … 😉
By the end Gala was very supportive of his work 💰💰💰 but she had grown tired of him
Nice video. More illustrations and pics were desired, but still a groovy piece. Thanks.
Bomb, subscribed asf
That was just like me and my house.
Gala - true Russian muse. Just like Lilia Brick. Magnificent women.
💖
Hey! are we related?
@@arthistorystorytime hahaha maybe... I really enjoyed your video 💖
@@arisolisB Ah! my bad, your name and even photo looked super familiar. I thought you were a cousin I have in Costa Rica. Glad you enjoyed the video!
@@arthistorystorytime I'm from Costa Rica 🇨🇷 that's crazy 😅 well you have a cousin lookalike here 😜🫶 regards 💐
i am listening to your voice and getting lost in your face
your videos would be way nicer if you add more images and videos! just an advice
Dali apparently fell over in New York late in life, and the fall triggered an epiphany for him. He realised his art up to that point was rubbish. He disowned it, and Dali became a Christian. He painted Jesus on the cross, in space, looking down on the world. This is probably why the Vatican is exhibiting Dali soon.
Gala was a succubus end of Bunuel should have strangled her when he had the chance
At first prolific but as the years rolled on repetitive nonsense
And remember when he and gala visited a museum he was so overcome by lust he took gala into the corridor and sodemised her
Attention seekers
Better and more surrealist painters
Dorathea Tanning Max Ernst amongst them
Your reading stuff like out a book 📖
lol sounds hot.
Sure! I like those surrealist artists too, was reading about Ernst not too long ago.
And I’m reading a script I have written with my hands and brain from a teleprompter.
@arthistorystorytime it's like being in primary school
As I didnt fawn over your text like the other sheep
I dont get a badge
Incredibly childish notion anyway
As Bunuel would have said
Fake modernism from Fake people
D was Catalan not Spanish.
At the time when making this, I realized there was a cultural difference but knew it as if it were all under the umbrella of Spain. But now this has sent me into a Catalan, Andalusian, Basque, Spain rabbit hole, and I'm just amazed at the variety in language and culture that I previously knew as just "Spain". So THANK YOU dear commenter! I appreciate you.
@@arthistorystorytime anytime. It’s an easy mistake to make; and sadly wiki doesn’t make it clear. I blame Franco! I had an elderly student who came from the other family of notaries in Figueras, they knew the Dalis well. Although not particularly wealthy he had a small Dali seascape from the early twenties that had been given to him by the family. My student had been an anarchist in Barcelona in the sixties and seventies and had lived quite a colourful life himself!
@@operator1717 So interesting!
Artists in general are strange fringe people who are sometimes monogamous, as Dali was. Their extreme behavior is somewhat off putting
