200 owners be like: "you bought a 62 because you couldn't afford a 200". This convoy rocks up with super charged highly modified rigs and a Bruder..... Can't wait to see these rigs on Fraser 👍💪
Dave, just be aware that NSW has a max speed limit of 100kh if your GCM is over 4500kg. That means pretty much any full size 4x4 towing a full size caravan. Feeling sorry for your fuel economy (sorry....poor word for a Y62...haha). I have a 5 tonne Silverado, towing a 3500kg Bushtracker, sit on 100kh all day....and on a bad day I use 22l/100 with 1200nm under my right foot. But it wouldn't go some of the places your bus would go...so I guess it's horses for courses.
Hey guys, not related to your blog but more about your trip, just for info the SA Police are looking at closing the SA / NSW boarder and have advised that any SA people in NSW start looking at coming home. This is due to the latest COVID numbers in Sydney. Just in case your looking at coming back the way you went might pay to keep an eye on it. Enjoy
Saw the Bruder in person, and was heart broken on the quality. It was so cheap and poorly executed. I really hope they lifted their game in the last 12 months, such a cool design and weight; just poor workmanship.
Love you blogs about the Y62s. Today I was wondering why it was so loud in the car. Was it an engine sound or exhaust? Looking forward to your offroad actions.
Jesus Dave it drinks the juice, I've got a series 4 y62 when towing our cub Longreach camper we get 17.5L per 100km's mine is stock apart from airbags in the rear sitting on the speed limit.
Hi mate great video , a torque converter lock up switch might help you out on your fuel usage . I know they make them for the cruiser but worth looking into
David, love your idea regarding the rear bar “One button” to open, looking forward to seeing that. Regarding UHF Antenna, best place is on the roof as you gain height and full operating area that they are designed for and no vehicle interference e.g. 3dbi operates in a oval type range, great for when in hilly locations and our 6dbi is a oval operating area but stretched and narrower which is great for open areas for distance. Having mounted on the front can reduce gain due to the body of the car. I run a 6dbi on the bullbar and small flexible 3dbi on the rhino rack.
Hi Dave thanks for the great videos as always. Just one question, I looked through the modification page on FB. Didn’t see anything about that Titanium valve controlled exhaust. I’m really interested in it. Could you give me ideas which company made it? Thanks Michael
Hey Dave, Bit the bullet and bought a series 4 after all. What brand are the towing mirrors you're using?? Curious as there are so many. Clearview are overpriced IMHO. How nice are the Bruder campers??.......
Hey guys..love seeing these big powerful Y62’s....my only issue is not just the litres used but the price difference between Diesel and unleaded. In Queensland at the moment diesel is 30-60 cents cheaper per litre depending upon the octane rating of the fuel. So even if you get comparable litres per hundred the fuel is costing at least 20 percent more. If we assume that an average driver does about 15,000 km per year at 15 litres per hundred (which I suspect is a bit less than average) that equates to an extra $450 of petrol per year. Once you start driving on sand (like Fraser Island for example) and are using 30 litres per hundred instead of 20 litres per hundred in the diesel 200 series land cruiser) it is costing you at least an extra $20 dollars per hundred to run (and a lot more than that if you have to buy fuel at remote locations like Waddy point on Fraser Island) I guess what I am trying to say is this; by all means run a big powerful V8. It will perform really well... but it will punish you at the fuel station. If you are OK with that well and good but don’t try and dress it up as being “not that bad”; in truth it is terrible. Just saying...
Love these vlogs learning a lot. One thing though I would go crazy with that Exhaust the drone is maddening.

No we dont😂
Supercharged Y62 pulling a 180k Bruder 😂😂. Seen it all now👌👌👌
I totally love your front bar it looks clean, & lighter then the other bars.
Honestly that’s pretty good fuel with the power that you have.

Had to take the Origin fuel tanker to keep all the beasts on the road 😂👌
Nice video mate

Even got the gas truck travelling with you for refuelling
I was waiting for someone to pick up on that 😂
Would love to see a review of that Bruder
That Bruder looks the part on the back of that black y62
Love to see a walk around
@@michaelhermans4753 looks so sick!
I agree that whole set up looks, & sounds good

@@Dorko85 careful, they'll sue for comments like that.
I've never been so happy about my fuel consumption at 19L/100 . . . . . No wonder it's patrol law not mention it. Great vid 👍👌

One thing I can never comprehend with these cars, is the tacky wood interior! Its 2020.
UAE got the upgraded interior but sadly Australia gets bugger all say as we're are like 2% of the market

The suspension on that blacked out caravan behind your y62 looked pretty serious can you do a walk around please :)
I think it is a Bruder caravan.$$
@@Mambey more like $$$$$
Would love to see that Bruder in a vid.
Thanks David, look forward to the next one. d
We found that if you use manual mode with our camper on we got around 18 Lt per 100klm
11:07 "I'm due for a good bogging" 💩💩
Was it quite hilly when you were filming in the car? Seems to be up and down gears and in/out of lockup quite a lot.

Yep, recently changed over from bullbar mounted UHF and used a foldable mount on the top of the Chevy canopy. Much better reception up there.
so you bring a fuel tanker with you in the convoy ? great idea
the 62 looks tops Dave
Liking the vlogs mate, 👍

Hey Dave,
Bit the bullet and bought a series 4 after all. What brand are the towing mirrors you're using?? Curious as there are so many. Clearview are overpriced IMHO.

I’m using Milenco, but I hate all towing mirrors 😅
I’m using Milenco, but I hate all towing mirrors 😅
Bruder caravan. Nice.
Thats good fuel consumption my Ranger 3.2 and 3.2 Bt50 both towing 20ft Jayco Outbacks at 2.9 ton use 21 ltrs per hundred.
It would have been a funny sight I’d at the 2:00 mark that truck was a petrol tanker and not an lpg tanker 😂😂
I get 13L per 100 in my 17 armada on 87 octane. That's mixed driving empty. Guess I cannot complain.
Seen you today near the Logan motorway
Is the car actually that loud to the naked ear when inside? That would be a nightmare
You need a Titan XD Pro4X or just Titan Pro4X man. Let's try to find out if you can register Titan in AU.
I,m liking your vlog Dave, your honesty on everything is awesome
The black y62 with the bruder wins👍
Was the fuel tanker part of your convoy ?. 😜
Great vlog but the drone in your car is so loud it is hard to hear you, maybe put a mike closer
However bar the above greatly enjoy you vids
Its the exhaust drone
I’d like to know your comparison between the cars and spottieswnoting you have Narva, there’s also Stedi and ARB. Cheers
Eeek, mine are just for show atm. Didn’t have time to wire them up.
It IS a statement when 200 series slayers visited any town.
I may have missed you saying in the video, what was the fuel consumption on the y62 with 35" and 37" tyres??
can get different maps with a flash tune... dont need unichip
Do they fit torque converter lock up kit for the Y62 ? Reduces trans heat by a lot.
nissan patrol y62 black car very beautiful
Can you do a run down.on that bruda caravan
You mentioned the roof rack added about 2l/100km. Can you tell me more?
It’s just what happens when you bolt a roof rack on 🤷♂️
Ta. Yeah I'm beginning to think they create more drag on the Y62 than some other vehicles.
Please get a proper custom dyno tune. Chips are insignificant in comparison
A unichip is a custom dyno tune👍👍
Ah, well you learn something new everyday. I guess that serves me right for not googling what it was ahaha

Fair enough, but if your considering spending $100k on a car, are you really that worried about an extra few hundred $ a year in fuel 🤷♂️
I guess that is true...
Sound like 4th gear any the y62is working very hard with 3 ton @ 30ltrs per 100 joke mobile
Dave I'm giving this video a like, but please get a microphone 🙏
Seems your gears jump a bit, is that not annoying you?
If I wasn’t recording, I probably would have just held in a gear for that stretch
Can you avoid NSW on return trip if Covid interferes?
I think we will have to
Your audio quality when driving was extremely poor.
Are you planning on supercharging this if no, why not??
Not really. Answer is another while video in itself 👍
