Titan Walking Floor Aggregate or Asphalt Trailer
Titan 40 cuyd walking floor trailer - designed and constructed by Titan Inc of Canada. Titan have spent a King's ransom in the research and development of this product - and it shows. The trailer is designed to carry hot tarmac or asphalt products in the UK & Eire. It has a Keith Walking Floor - Running Floor II V 9 Steel floor. The floor has a special heat bearing so that it will perform at the high temperatures required to keep Asphalt friable and viable. There is a Titan Plow or moving headboard that sweeps down the trailer behind the load. This then retracts at the push of a button back to the front headboard start position. This cleans out the trailer - removing or sweeping material that would build up in the stationary troughs. Titan are unique in having there Thinwall side wall system that is horizontal. This allows them to have a Quicksilver liner - which is a teflon type material - placed physically into the sidewall. This development is different to the competition - it allows for a harmonious interaction of the sidemost floor plank that is also Titans own system. Therefore only 7
of the Hardox floor planks are Keith. The two at the side are Titans. They lie on the floor and are then cranked to rise up the side of the trailer and then return at about 30 cm up the wall INTO the side wall. This enables the trailer to move at speed with excellent clearout and less sidewall wear than the competition. The monocoque construction techniques that Titan use are unique. This allows Titan to deliver this trailer at just 7,500 kgs. This is up to a tonne lighter than the competion - typically this could earn an operator up to £60.00 per day.
The trailer benefits from an automatic lifting rear under run bar and automatic lifting rear mudguards enabling access to the road paving machine.
The rear door lifts hydraulically and is designed to allow the rear lights to hang and operate as high working lights when discharging.
