    Wonder why the flow numbers are lower than what Promaxx advertises on their website. I'd love to see how the new LMR SVE CNC 185s stack up against these guys. Thanks for making this video!

    Hey Eric,
    Tim here, WOW!!..for 185cc's its pretty snazy!!!...if it was goin on MY SBF, i'd do a back cut on the intakes, as at 185 cc's, its NOT gonna be a screamer, NOR shud it be on a Windsor motor, but an intake back cut wud give MORE usable flow down low, where this head wud mostly live......impressive head tho......this comin from a Pontiac guy......i was impressed!!..TY sir!!

    Hello ERIC
    That engine at the beginning of the run seemed to be very unhappy, or the dyno was having trouble.
    When engines start a run AND are not happy it Carrie’s on through the rpm range,
    There are a couple of things to try.
    Start the test at a higher rpm
    Try A faster acceleration test
    Static tests at peak Torque and HP
    When doing the statics hold it under load observing if it stays stable gains or loses.
    The accuracy of the dyno from run to run is at best 1/2 to 1 %
    The software also has dampening also called other names.
    This cuts out highs n lows giving better looking Graphs.
    I find your observations on the vein very interesting.
    You touched on reversion
    I would also point out that there are pulses that occur in the intake n exhaust
    Pro stock uses the first pulse, dirt track engines around the third pulse
    What we chase is inertia supercharge affect
    I am chucking this out there
    If the vein creates a swirl or vortex behind the valve on closing would this dampen the pulse and therefore lose power
    I am not a fan of that chamber style, may flow a little better always found they didn’t run well at low rpm
    I have been using Superflow dynos since 1983. My mentor there was the late Harold Bette’s

    So .600 lift cam, back cut intake and tulip exhaust would work very well wirh these heads on a 10.5:1 306?! Very weird you just uploaded this as I rewatched the 210 video earlier and was just looking at these heads 😂

    just out of curiosity, is it possible to port and fill the exhaust port so its essentially a raised port? would there be enough meat on the port ceiling to allow that?

    How do Intake port volumes compare between sbf and sbc? I know runner length obviously affects it so what’s the comparison if I’m making sense?

    Can’t wait to put these on. Scored a 650xp couple nights ago, with the victor jr I picked up, should be pretty fun little engine, with the 5 speed. Briefly we talked about rockers, was wondering what brand you’d recommend? Was thinking about trick flow ones in 1.6 ratio.

    guideplates for big pushrods available? I'm going to build two 351W one for a Bronco and one for a LTD stock efi (302 top on the LTD) these look like good heads with around 500 lift HR cams The stock heads are going to need a lot of work so thinking

    It seems to me that the difference in flow on the intake side between these and the 205s is due to valve size. What do you think?

    • @WeingartnerRacing
      @WeingartnerRacing  2 месяца назад +2

      Yes they are close but it’s not related to valve size.

      @GapSauceYoutube 3 месяца назад

      The casting is actually 205cc when you measure it. At least the set I did was. And the went 260 after I finished "fixing" what I could. Sure 240s before that.

    Interestly, I ported a set of DRP 185s which appear to the same castings. They are actually 205cc when measured and flowed sub 240. Cleaned them up and the went 260@.600". The machining in throat was God awful and hard to work with. These appear better, however 91.6% is alot for what most guys would be using this for at .600" Street stuff. The DRP's were 89.9%.

      Different casting. That's the dart Pro 1 clone, sold as the afr enforcer over here among a ton of others branding it. Blueprint was the first to have it in the US. This casting is pretty pretty much an afr clone, and can be bought with a few as cast runners or a porter casting, they come out of the same mold with different core, everyone's branding them now. There the better China castings. Think aeroflow brands them down under😂. You guys really over pay for the China stuff, you can get this casting cnc straight from the manufacturer, A porter casting , 185 as cast or 205 as cast with a larger cnc port on the way.. Well known mustang shop here sells the 185cnc for 1299 assembled for the pair but probably all China valvetrain since they don't build heads, dart has the 205 as cast version of this in thier shp line.. So afr sells tweaked dart clones and dart sells tweaked afr clones😂

      Great information, my main concern with these types of heads is the deck thickness for say turbo applications say .500 but I like to see thicker than that for lift on the decks.
      As much as I want to save money it's really temptation to not just go for a say set of 11R for that alone.
