@@Tundra0128ADP was never legal with double dragon in standard. The card wasn't as bad as people remember. Zacian v and bellelba brycenman were the cards that made the format bad

As someone who began playing extremely soon after ADP rotated, I can confidently say that I am a blessed man to have never experienced this. This looks miserable to play against...
as some who started just before adp, I can tell u it was vile. only 1 deck could hang and beat adp more than 50% of the time ... in the standard formats for months and months and months.

@kingseiryu929 ye crazy. ot was genuinely insane the card never got banned, absolutely plague on the game. There wasn't even a single counter
the only thing that could hang with it was tag team pika/rom with tag raichu, and that's only because it had speed paralysis and electro power.

@kingseiryu929 the power creep means it shouldn't be quite as dominant but it would still do ridiculously well. decks like okidogie and raging bolt would be best because of the 1hko... u have to wipe adp fast or it's game
zard would actually struggle since it can't wipe 280hp 330hp with charm 380 with cape, unless it has a ridiculous perfect dusknoir setup ... any stray pidgey or charmander is getting gobbled for 2 prizes. the fact that the attack charges up the next pokemon as eell means even a return ko can get met by an attacker of the right weakness... on a zard that's 3 prizes.
the fact that 3 years on adp could hang with a deck like zard despite lower creep shows how ridiculous it was

I will say it can work but I haven't made the most optimal list I'm sure if I really put in the effort I can figure it out but it is a bit difficult I feel like

This format is way better than the ADP era. Alongside Mew VMAX, ADP is the only other card I didn't like. Just unfair and broken.

i feel like some were balanced but the idea of three prizers was stupid. I was a huge fan of mewtwo and mew though i cant lie, especially in expanded it was just so fun

Remember playing PTCGO expanded and beating ADP decks multiple times with a Raticate + Crobat deck, the game was pretty much decided by the first turn though.
I'm pretty surprised that Expanded hasn't banned this card yet. Then again I don't think the Pokemon TCG officials have done much of anything with expanded in a long time and the format has been messy for a while now
They just banned a card. They clearly just think ADP isn’t an issue.
As someone who only plays extended I can say that ADP isn't really that good
@anakin27ng agree. There are far worse things in expanded. Like LDF said, Pokémon Ranger is a thing in the real expanded, so ADP is not much of a problem. Regidrago, Lugia and control are far more toxic.

Dude, thank you for showing this deck. I got into the Pokemon TCG long after this deck, but I've heard whispers of the ADP deck. I've wanted to see what's up with it and now I have. Crazy stuff. Great video man.
my son the expanded format will never say die. they butchered him after ptcgl and it was no longer the wild jungle of donk, adp, and the wildest rogue piles you ever saw, but its still there (RIP the dialga vstar donk deck). i dont wanna right a paragraph here but by killing the black and white cards, they took away integral pieces of the format like vs seeker and N. A lot of people said that it was broken and no one likes it but as someone who never could afford the new cards when they came out to play in standard back in the ptcgo economy, expanded was a lifeline and a crazy place to mess around. i miss it even more now with how stale standard is.
The three cards that made me quit until rotation:
1. ADP
2. Welder
3. Marshadow

I feel like the reason it was never banned was because they had a League Battle Deck being sold in stores during its time in Standard that used Zacian V and ADP and it'd look pretty bad for TPCi if they were selling a deck that used a banned card, especially if that banned card was as important to the deck's strategy as ADP is.

I think it should still be banned. Any card/pokemon/deck that requires you to run a specific card (e.g. pokemon ranger/Latios GX) to make it so you even have a chance at winning the game is problematic. But when those cards are so specific that they are a waste of space in any other matchup then it becomes a real problem. Which is definitely the case in ADP. I have suffered enough back in the day when this was standard, my suffering should be over now imo.

this was a great reminder how powerful ADP was. I started playing when lugia was all over the ladder and I got bored of it. Current format is fun! there is more variety of decks.
The problem with the format at the moment, is for a while it was actually pretty good and balanced, with stage 2, big basic ex's and single prize decks in the format. Regidrago kinda flipped the scale making it more difficult for Gardy and mostly Lost Box. Also Iron Thorns is just not fun to play against or even see on the big screen. So basically it's not bad, it's just less fun then it was right now.
In the physical game I made a list that included ADP, Dragonite V, Choice Belt, Leon, Double Dragon Energy (plus VS Seeker, Trainer's Mail, Elixir among others). Absolutely devastating.
Thank God Pokémon Ranger is a thing in expanded....
I live in China and started playing last year, and the meta here when I started playing was this meta. ADP everywhere and super hard to beat. Now we are starting to see Vstars being released.
ADP Zacian is the reason i did not started playing the game in 2019

Latios GX's GX attack can stop ADP if we use the attack soon
It's absolutely ridiculous that expanded is still in beta after almost 3 years of PTCGL and to make things even better, all GX Pokemon with an ability are broken right now allowing you to use thier GX attack as many times as you want. All you have to do is shut off the ability with something like path to the peak or power plant and that will trigger the bug. I'm so sick and tired of this game and wish I could go back to the PTCGO days so badly.
They should make a stage 1 Pokémon that has the ability to take an energy from the discard pile and put it on that Pokémon if it has a higher hp than your opponent(take 20hp when applied)
This card is absolutely cracked in the real Expanded card pool. This was pretty mild really! Love the recent Expanded content.
Actually it was better than silver tempest format, I remember that fire box, MewtwoMew tt, Pikarom tt and Lucametal tt could beat ADP, 50-50 match ups or less, Eterna vmax and Shadow Rider max also beat ADP after that format. ADP takes two turns to set up most times but Lugia starts to attack turn two😮
I think this format is pretty good, it has a lot of variety of playable decks.
I started actually playing the tcg during ADPZ and I wasn't prepared for that nonsense
I got into the ptcg during the ADP format. I loved it, lol. It was so much different than today's format. I love how dynamic the different formats are. I played Mew Mew Tag Team GX deck. It was so sick. I could attack for weakness to pretty much any meta deck in the format. Also so many hax and energy accel. Mew Mew is my favorite deck of all time.
I started playing PTCGO when ADP Zacian was bdif. It sucked to play against as a new player.
I was expecting Iron Hands ex, as well as Peonia with Greedy Dice and Jirachi Prism Star.
Also, what if Festival ADP to attack twice…

Ah, I loved playing ADP back in the day. I won't pretend like it was healthy or fun for everyone else. Lmao
I 100% prefer this format to the horrible Fusion Strike format, which was Mew against anything that was not destroyed instantly by Mew, or the Silver Tempest format, which was like 80% Lugia and the rest ability lock.
Nothing was worse than the ADP/Zacian V format.
The only reason it wasn't banned was lockdowns.
Hot take but I don’t think ADP gatekept single prizers, they just stopped printing good single prizers for like 2 years.
The only counter, as I recall, was hitting crushing hammer heads X2, turn 1.
If you did not accomplish that then you definitely lost.
And that was the ONLY counter.
If you didn’t play hammers then you auto scooped.
Regidrago can use Dialagas Timeless GX( take another turn) 150 damage which seems kinda strong even tho stronger dragon predecessor existed.

I hated this card so much. I literally quit standard at the time lol it was unbearable and all I would play was expanded until it rotated out.
I started playing on PTCGO around the time Vivid Voltage released and the first deck I was finally able to get wins with against Zacian/ADP was Decidueye with telescopic sight. Can't take two prizes on decidueye if you can't damage it lol.
Every deck played pokemon ranger because of this thing.
Name one card people had to have to universally to beat one deck in this meta.
For me, Zoroark GX was unfair in expanded and the exeggcute with probation ability there was no downside and had so many ways to be a toxic deck to play against it even got 2 cards banned too.
Flying Pikachu vmax was my favorite deck at the time ⌚

Even since that thing released since TCG online, i almost lost to the ADP player when he took out one of my single prized pokemons. Good thing i managed to get out of that stinking trio by denying any chance to make a comeback. I dont know why they phase out fairy types before but i read out from the updates after the rotation before the dawn of tcg live.

My hot take is that ADP wasn't the problem. Nobody cared about ADP when Cosmic Eclipse released. It was when ADP got paired with Zacian that we all got gate kept and started tripping.
Zacian definitely caused it to be broken, but all adp needed was that push

How are you taking an extra prize card if you dont have an extra water energy attached, in addition to the cost? Even when you attacked with Zacian that only had metal you were able to take an extra prize card.
When ADP uses altered creation, it needs metal and water to give you the for-the-rest-of-the-game benefit of whenever you take a prize for KO, you take an extra prize. Future attackers don't need any different energy to take more prizes.
You only need to use the water metal for adp to activate the effect for the rest of the game
I haven't played in awhile and I'm unfamiliar with the current standard format, but ADP was the GOAT of toxicity

I quit ptcgo because of that deck. I had just started playing , and after 2 months trying to earn cards by playing Kyogre theme deck against ADP, I just gave up.😢

How do you get good at expanded with so many options in it? I can handle standard because I've seen all the cards a million times, but expanded just seems like the wild west to me

I thought same too but you will start seeing alot of repeated decks if you play enough games. If you play 20 games trust me you will have an urge to slap Drapion V in your deck to counter the fusion strike Mew VMAX + genesect spam
