  • Vintage film footage of the TTC's "Peter Witt" streetcars hauling "Harvey" trailers up and down Yonge Street, ca. 1950. These trailer trains were introduced to Toronto in 1921 and were replaced by the Yonge subway line in 1954.
The last TTC Witt motorcars were removed from regular service in 1965.
The TTC still has Witt #2766 from 1922, which it rolls out for parades and other special events.
Come ride in another preserved TTC Peter Witt streetcar at our museum, the Halton County Radial Railway! We are open yearly, May to October. Our address and hours are on our website, www.hcry.org.
    Please follow us at haltoncountyradialrailway/
    and streetcarmuseum
Footage is from the GPS Video DVD "Yonge Line: Trailer Trains to Subways."

The subway only go as far north at Eglington. Beyond that was kind of wilderness !
