Your layout is looking great! Personally I don't belong to any Facebook slot car groups, but then again I don't use Facebook regularly. I mainly get all my slot car content on Instagram and here on RUclips. I mainly watch content to do with scenery builds like yours, scratch building cars, or news on what's coming out. I don't watch too many reviews or actual racing, as I'd just as soon run my own cars and form my own opinion rather than watch someone else do it lol.
I loved your process I dabble with same materials and works well. You gave best advice ever "Results may vary!" That is so true !!!!! Track is really coming along. I belong to handful of Facebook groups most have YT channels but honestly don't post very often . I ck every so often due to Yt and Facebook sometimes it's overwhelming and I find myself not getting anything done on my own layout.
Thanks! Yeah - it can be really overwhelming with all the slot car content out there. And I've just also subscribed to some foreign-language sites that I have to auto-translate...but the stuff is really good.
Great advice and your track is looking good Mark, I have not ventured out from RUclips because I can barely Keep up with it now with all the great content coming out. If I venture further out I won't time for honey Do's 😂😂😂. Just keeping my priorities in check buddy. great video keep em coming
Home Depot will give you all the saw dust material you want for those of us that does not do wood working. Take a container with you and they will fill it up.
I first image-searched for "Alps panorama" (large size photo) then looked until I found ones that seemed right. I found two - then I took them into a graphics program, made a document 30" x 10' in size, and inserted the images so each was 15" high. I had to stitch and blend the images to make them wide enough, but you can make the seams almost invisible if you're careful. Honestly the key part was getting them printed at my local library, which offers wide format printing at $2 a linear foot.
@@slotjournal Thank you for sharing that information. I'm not sure I have the graphic skills to get it set for printing but I might have to give it a try as i really like the impact when table is against the wall (like mine). What graphic program did you use? Thanks.
@@b4retina1977 I use QuarkXpress, which is a graphics program I've used for years. What kind of background are you thinking about? Mountains, countryside, urban? What dimensions (length/height)? I might be able to help. 🙂
@@slotjournal Hello again and thank you for continued input. I am actually looking for same alpine mountain esthetic as you did. Track is 19ft long. Height, I was going to adopt your 13" approach. I think that works well for scale.
@@b4retina1977 So you've got a 19 ft. wall length? At 13" high, best bet would be to set up two scenes on a 30" wide sheet - which is typical for the wide-format printer needed for the job. You could print out 10 ft. of paper/vinyl, which would give you 20 running feet total. You'd have a seam, but there are ways to hide or make them less evident.

Great job Mark. Youre like the Bob Ross of Slot cars😅 the track is looking super great. 🎉🎉
Love it. Love it. Love it!!! Thanks so much, Mark. Wonderful video. 😎👍🏁
Enjoyed that Mark, I didn’t even know you could buy plaster cloth. That stuff looks really useful. Great work
Thanks, Tony - it's easy to use, but can get a little messy.
Great channel, great video's. Your layout is beautiful!
Race on!

Thank you for sharing the "how to " do landscape!!!!!!
Concerning Facebook slotcar groups: too many to count, as I like H0, 32 and 24 scale........
Thanks, Nico - I've started to subscribe to more foreign-language YT channels, using auto-translate. It's almost too much, but hard to resist! 😆

Thank you for these great tips. Where did you get the background panorama. I’m looking for something exactly like that.
