That was surprisingly entertaining. I tried to get into team games but the endless stalemates backed by infinite resources made me question life so I moved on. On the bright side, I can now watch 1v1s and get the gist of things.
I already watched this whole game on Drongo's channel, but this came up on my recommended list and since you were so impressive in the game, I decided to watch from your perspective.
props to core for trying a wonder in a pro FFA ballsy as fuck.

@@carrotcake6002 2v1. Nevix was still a significant part of that push. And it could've been a 3v1 but he did what Core didn't by actually attacking and taking out one of his opponents even after going for a wonder victory.
I love how after destroying core wonder beasty and nevix army march back home together peacefully.
I love how Beasty and Nevix are basically arch enemies in that game but turn things around together whenever somebody builds a wonder.

Hey Beasty, I do enjoy these videos and I was curious if you'd try another FFA pro game but on a map called "Socotra ITA". It is similar to Dry Arabia except about 33% of the outside map is surrounded by water (no fish so fishing won't help). As a result, it makes for REALLY close spawn locations between players and I think it would be interesting to see how really high skill leveled people play on it. The one downside I've noticed on the map though is that there is only 1 Sacred Site (which doesn't seem to spawn in the middle of the map). Regardless, I still think it would be interesting to see since people would be fighting for resources much sooner.
(An example of how close is that a 3v3 game I played had my opponent on my side spawn fairly close, about the distance of 1v1 dry arabia, possibly closer)

i watched a couple of videos now from beasty and i dont even play aoe4, but i will now, so i must be a pro instantly
To kill yelow you had to rush in the moment you spot him. But nice FFA , i liked it anyway cool szlami tectic to wonder and place one landmark close and stone wall them
This is the best aoe4 game player :) i saw drago's commentary, it was so good. Nice to see ypur point of view too :)
I wonder if battering rams are useful now when enemies go mass stone walls while you have a bunch of wood.
300 damage (360 with geometry) against walls every 5 second for only 300 wood, 1 population; isn't that bad for a siege unit all civs can build with infantry. Use bombards in main army; but send a few battering rams on flanks; ties up some of the enemy apm.
And you can garrison a few infantry so they think its poorly protected and just send a few units
literally sat here screaming at beasty to GO HORSEMAN TRANSITION AND KILL THE XBOWS!
Why do pros never put relics in keeps as HRE? It seems like such a waste to put in the monastery-you still get the gold flow plus other bonuses if you put it in a keep.
Keeps are riskier since they get destroyed first, but i agree, putting relics on keeps/docks offers no other downside compared to monastery, even with tithe barns
How do you smoothly build barracks without having to shift click each one?

To kill yellow, imo you should have put more military buildings near the battle to muster more reinforcement. Lots of time when you gained ground but the reinforcement came to slow that he gained ground again.
Yellow's reinforcement was REALLY delayed.
Which HRE military units do you think is best?
how do you change ur collor i always pick a collor but it becomes blue afterward ? do i need to change soemthing in my settings ? like ur orange even if i select orange in the lobie i become blue
Your final push was disconnected with the yellow player. If played together you would have breaked the wonder :P

where did nevix get his resources from to sustain his war effort? he was tucked away in that tiny corner while you were depleting mines in teh middle of the map i dont get it

So Salami defended 2 armies at the same time? How?
His econ left undamaged means he can support units faster. Travel time + walls give major defenders advantage + wonder too. Defenders advantage because units that die can immediately be replaced and immediately start in the battlefield (yellow/beasty's units have to walk). Walls give chokepoint advantage and require siege to break through. What this means is that if all the siege is destroyed, it doesn't really matter how strong the current push is if it eventually gets dealt with (since opponent can't get their objective done). This is extremely effective with multi-layered walls. Wonder Victory Timer provides a sense of urgency. This means beasty needs siege to kill the wall so his siege can't assist him in battle if he needs to priortize walls. You'll notice that Salami went mass scouts to deal with the siege. The moment they killed the siege, the game was pretty much over.
This was a very similar tactic in a 2v2 game I played against Szalami1 as well in a Mountain Pass game. We ended up losing because multi-layered walls was incredibly hard to deal with and when we pushed past a wall, the wall would be remade very quickly and a second wall made it hard to push (especially 9K health chinese walls). Furthermore, if you can rebuild the walls (even just foundation) when reinforcements are trying to come to assist, it completely stops the push. It is something I dislike where I simply wish that stone walls had a higher priority (siege just ignores them unless manually clicked on and that's incredibly annoying when trying to push since its just another thing you need to keep track on.) You often won't see this tactic as much in 1v1s as these tactics are most effective at stalling chokepoints and running down the timer (essentially buying time versus trying to beat the opponents army). Sadly, it can be VERY annoying to deal with. Core probably would of won if he deployed these tactics (especially with villagers need the wonder to instantly remake the stone walls once destroyed and save the units to kill the trebs)
@@TheHappy115 Core would have won with any number of better decisions, tbh. A third row of walls, which he could have easily afforded if he'd switched the guild hall to stone, building the wonder farther back into the corner, having the ability to rebuild/repair walls, I mean, he was only 30 seconds away from the win after all.
If there ever was a game to prove Beasty knows what he is talking about, THIS IS IT!
