    I was wondering if it's possible to reolace the nib of a conklin mark twain crescent pen. into a fine nib?

    Hah! This is awesome. I was specifically Googling "conklin nib replacement" to see if it would fit on of your Goulet stub nibs specifically, and here you are!
    Guess it's time for me to get orderin'!

    I have a new Conklin Duragraph stubby nib. I can't get it to write much. I unscrewed them from the pen but the tines and feed seem pretty stuck together still. I can't pull them apart. Any advise (please)?

    Question: so I have recently purchased 4 conklin pens. I read in a comment i could replace with a #6 Edison. So tried that. Didn't seem to work (then i broke it). So...i bought 2 new conklin nibs. Im now $75 into nibs...the new nibs are lovely! They are now better than the 2 i didnt replaced. Does Conklin just put substandard nibs on new pens? That would seem like a poor business model. Any answers to this? I dont see myself buying another conklin.

      jcolterh same here. I have a duraflex sunstone with omniflex nib. It worked great but now the nib is trash. (Not purchased from Goulet, but that’s my experience)

    Hi! Would there be any pictures available of the two-toned Goulet nib on a Duragraph? I thought I'd ask as I gathered from the video that that particular GP nib didn't match that Duragraph. Thank you!

    • @Gouletpens
      @Gouletpens  6 лет назад

      We don't have any pictures on the product page (just the one on a Jinhao: www.gouletpens.com/collections/goulet-nibs/products/goulet-6-steel-nib-two-tone ). I think the silver trim is why the gold two-tone nib wouldn't match, but I don't think it'd be a bad option. - Colin

    Does anyone know if the Conklin pens come with Bach or Jowo nibs, or do they make their own?

    • @Gouletpens
      @Gouletpens  7 лет назад

      Conklin uses their own nibs, but as mentioned in the video, most of their pens are #6 size, so you can swap if necessary. - Colin

    Thank goodness. That conklin omniflex nib is complete trash, and all the customer reviews say as much. Please stop selling pens that don't work out of the box. I shouldn't have to buy a goulet nib and change it myself just to make a $50 pen work!

    I just received my Duragraph with a fine nib and am finding it to write a bit too wide for my taste. So I went to your nib nook to compare the duragraph fine to the goulet #6 extra fine and they look about the same. What can I do to get a finer line? I am not using expensive paper, so that could be part of it, but I would love a finer line on all papers.

    • @cjdontthink2
      @cjdontthink2 7 лет назад

      I switched inks from monteverde sapphire to noodler's black and that helped slim down the lines. I'd still like to go finer though

    • @Gouletpens

      Ink & paper can play a part in it, but usually if you're looking for a very fine line, Japanese pens would be the way to go (ruclips.net/video/rUkEeJN-PyA/видео.html ). Something like a Platinum Preppy EF or Pilot Metropolitan F would be good options at an affordable price. Not sure of any replacement nibs for the Duragraph that would work, but a custom grind could be an option. - Colin

      The Goulet Pen Company No chance your EF nib won't write finer than the Conklin fine?

    • @cjdontthink2
      @cjdontthink2 7 лет назад

      The Goulet Pen Company the Nemosine extra fine looks like it is a bit more fine than the Conklin, maybe that'll do the trick?

    At least in the Duragraph, but I think also on the other Conklins, the nib+feed is fitted into a sleeve, which is threaded into the section. Pulling out the nib with the sleeve in place might cause trouble since you are basically pulling on the threads as well. I would rather remove the sleeve and then pull out the nib.

      Brent Emon I know this question is a year old, but I was wondering the same thing earlier and figured I would answer for anyone else with the same question. The nib and feed ARE just friction fit into the nib housing, but it's shaped so it can only come straight out, and it comes fit in there REALLY tight. To get it out I left the nib housing screwed into the body of the pen and used the body for leverage to wiggle the nib & feed out from side to side. It takes a bit of working at it but it can be done.

    does goulet make flex nibs? and if so, does it fit in the noodler's ahab?

    • @Gouletpens

      +thespqrguy We don't make our own flex nibs, sorry about that! But we do have replacement nibs for the Ahab here: www.gouletpens.com/n18098/p/N18098

  • @jasontrapp4803

    this doesn't work
    Conklin nibs are a bit wider than the Goulet nibs so the Goulet nib will be a veryyyy loose fit and wont stay in properly.

    • @Gouletpens
      @Gouletpens  4 года назад

      This should work, so if you're having issues it might be some sort of defective nib/feed. What pen and nib were you trying with? Any #6 pen that Conklin uses has worked just fine in our experiences. Especially more recently since both our nibs and Conklins are #6 JoWo. - Colin

      @@Gouletpens I was trying to replace the omniflex nib on the special edition Freedom themed Conklin Duraflex with a fine Goulet nib. the packaging I received for my Goulet nib said it was a #6 but the nib really looks like a #5.
