They could have made it twice as thin without changing the used volume. This is an absolute waste of space and thickness. It’s also very badly built in my opinion, it is not worth the cost.
My thought process is that this might be a great option for computer science students. It should be good enough for compiling most programs at a reasonable speed and the only issue is that there's no GPU if you're doing machine learning work, but I'm under the impression that most people's personal rigs wouldn't be good for that anyway.

@@piers389 its actually just a free dongle that comes out of the box, with that same thunderbolt port you could attach a better gigabit lan adapter but it comes out of pocket i got mine for $1300 (sale at costco, i haven't seen it for less new anywhere else) and with that saving i can afford nvme drives and a gigabit adapter if needed (i have a beefy fast charger which charges my phone in like an hour and this in like 2 or 3) i think now there are sales for other retailers for 1,550 but the only difference is 256gb and 512 gb sata ssd, which i don't care for since im replacing it with an nvme ssd

I still daily a AW 17 R1 (Haswell lol) with a upgraded dGPU (980M) for rendering tasks, and have just recieved a 2015 MBP for mobile encoding. Honestly, even the AW, despite being thick as balls, is still fine to carry for me, but but its getting a little long in tooth, and this looks nice. Thanks for the review guys!

Kinda bummer they decided to uses Micro SD reader rather than a full size SD with such a size of the laptop. I still kinda don't get it in general why manufacturers decided to go with micro SD when sometimes there cleary is a room for SD slot.
Because full size SD cards are old technology obviously. It's got space for a VGA port too, should they include that?

250-300 ppi is the best resolution.
It probably has to do with the number of panels available to manufacturers. I agree 4K is way too much but 1440p is good on a 15-17 inch laptop, much more real estate if you want to lower scaling.
They shouldve made the laptop actually 17 grams. just to go with the name.
