Supervisor of Elections breaks ground on new facility in Bushnell.

The Sumter County Board of County Commissioners and Supervisor of Elections officials held a Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new Supervisor of Elections Facility in Bushnell in early April.
The new facility will allow the Supervisor of Elections to securely store all of the voting equipment under one roof rather than using exterior storage containers.
Due to the incredible growth in Sumter County, which is dominated by The Villages development, Sumter County looks to grow by two to four precincts each election season. By 2032, growth predictions forecast as many as 60 precincts in Sumter County, doubling the current 30 precincts.
