Hello, Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately, that's not a recommended application. The rust can affect the adhesion performance of the film. For further assistance, please connect with our team using: s.3m.com/z47l3w3m Hope this answers your question.
Hi Alan, thank you for your question. The paint must be fully cured. You can check with the painter/shop to determine how long it will take for the paint to fully cure. It would be likely better to wait for at least one month.
Hi Bobby - 3M does not recommend or warrant using a wetting solution on the vehicle surface when applying any film with air release channels. However, the installer may use a wetting solution on top of the film layer to provide some slip resistance for the squeegee.
Thanks for your question. The durability of the film is dependent on a variety of factors such as UV exposure and storage conditions. If this is a daily driver, the durability ranges from 2-7 years based on the degree of verticality and UV exposure. For example, your hood would have a durability of 2 years, while a door would be closer to 7 years, based on UV penetration being higher for a hood compared to the side of a car.
I just did an enclosed trailer with this . Turned out real nice. Best vinyl out rn
I'm a 3M™ film paster but you have a great job.
