I'm glad to hear this because this is my first time purchasing vinyl. I didn't know that 2080 was the new & improved versions. I got the 3M 2080 Sunflower Yellow so hopefully I can successfully wrap my car without issues.

By the way: Only the gloss series of 2080 are coming with the protectivelayer. The other 2080 series not.

I have a question about 3M 1080. Quite a few installers (here on youtube) are stating that 1080 quality has dropped in recent years. I want to wrap my (on order) 2021 Bronco in 3M Fiery Orange (G364) but am only finding it in 1080. Do you know if there is a way to get it in 2080? Or is there another brand that is real close to the same color? Thanks for any advice!
When I first started watching wrap videos, I was surprised that 3M was considered lesser than the other top brands. I was also surprised that Vvivid was much much cheaper but performed better. It's nice to see 3M step up their game.
So would you not recommend 3m???
I did some 2080 black satin just for my roof of my truck. It's my 1st time doing it, it was hard to use... had to do it twice. I've heard of some professional people says it's not that great to work with.

I just have 2 mirror caps I want to wrap satin nickle to give my wrx Audi RS vibes and the 3m 1080 wrap came up in a 5'x1'sheet; will that be adequate? I can understand wrapping the Infiniti, but not the Aston. is it me or is the front bumper gap bigger after the wrap?

Love the protective layer. Super satisfying seeing all the micro scratches disappear instantly. Thoughts on the actual finish of the 2080 gloss films? I’ve found it to have significantly more orange peel which is a bummer

why the older 3M satin black is darker than the new 3M 2080 satin black?
I used the satin black 2080 it's more like semi gloss then satin.
