I first started wrapping my car in January of this year. I don't have a garage so I wrap outside. Out of everyone on youtube, your videos have been the most helpful. I am now on my 3rd car and finally got the momentum when it comes to wrapping I am now working on perfecting it. Thanks man!
@@GlobalDesignHD if I were you I would start in the summer/spring time wrap tears extremely easy in the cold and doesn’t stretch good unless warm Id wait till a sunny day and at least 60°+ (15° C+) if you wrapping outside. Also doesn’t stick as good in the cold.
@@GlobalDesignHD i have never used 3M tbh, I’ve used vvivid for all the cars Ive done and its held up extremely well I live in Okinawa japan constant sun ☀️. And it hasn’t faded and its been on for months now. VVIVID is about 300-400 for a 50ft roll when I was buying. I even wrapped my computer once I got comfortable with how the stuff works ordered some cheap Chinese no brand wrap and it worked the same just didn’t have the stretch like the vvivid. Hope this help.
DAMN! I am hooked! Back in the 80's (Yeah you heard me punks)🤣🤣🤣THE 80'S! I found myself detailing a few cars and loved the extra money and loved it so much I started doing it full time. Hey the sun the cars and the $$$ and nobody to answer to less my customers. If this was around then I am sure I would have been all in. I am super surprised to see the material being so forgiving. Man hats off to this guy for having the balls to go on camera. He did great. I feel like I could try this on my 8th gen civic sedan now, this guy has given me so much confidence. Did carbon wrap my shifter trim, Speedo trim, and grill last year, and an Xbox controller, but never a whole car

Matt, you definitely are on the right track, couple things to remember, the nozzle of that heat gun is scorching hot, don't throw the heat gun on the seat after you've used it, you can easily damage the fabric, also, professionals have a lot of respect for the tools they use, do not throw your heat gun on the floor. There's another heads up about heat guns and rags , I almost burned my garage down once, when I put the heat gun close to a rag that had some thinner on it.

taught myself how to vinyl wrap by doing roof wraps first than eventually did my old car. that was about 3 years ago, did a friends car back in oct, and this was my first time doing overlays, spent a good 5-6 hrs planning out it since it was on a bmw m235i bumper. alot of breaks to cool down but at the end of the job, it was well worth it. also found it therapeutic vinyl wrapping
Your videos are helping me build up the courage to get started on my own car. I dont get alot of time to get around mine so, so far i have got the hood started. Did mess up one spot but im going to move on to the rest and at the end if i have enough left over im going to redo the hood. Thanks for the videos. Thank you, I practiced with Chinese pcv wrap on my Tesla and thanks to your video I got it down almost perfect. I’ve found the less stretching is more promising on longevity of the wrap because it won’t be able to peel back when parked in hot areas
I started working in a body shop back in 1994. I jumped out of tapping off around 1999. I haven't lost the touch and successfully wrapped my center console with silver flat carbon fiber. I will buy mid-grade viynl and attempt to do my whole car without anyone around to help. I'll bet with your tips and my similar experience by next year I'll be anodizing my 06 avalon. I will be practicing with big scraps in hard spots like my front bumper .I'll just pull and trash the viynl regardless of how good it looks. It was just to perfect my angels before I ruin my good viynl. You said in the beginning this isn't watch n learn and I agree 💯 percent 👍. Hands on and play/practice over n over to build confidence if you will be doing this alone.

Awesome video love the step by step realtime so an amateur wrapper how to do it and that it can be done by a newbie with some skill and guidance. Most other videos gloss over it and make it look easy cause they done it for years, you can't fake being new to wrapping like he did. Did a great job by the way and awesome colour. I was tossing up between ppf and colour wrap for my brandnew car. So I protect the paint while it's fresh

Seems he did well. He was patient and didnt get frustrated. Uve only vinyl wrapped headlights and tailights, some of them fairly complex. Im dying to wrap an entire car now. Dont wanna try it on my big crew cab truck for my first attempt, lol.

(I am sure its Mostly because, they want to show off how good and quick they are able to do wrapping . when in reality every mistake was just edited out. So bravo and thank you for your transparency

Yes, it takes time and patience to wrap and when you mess up its just mind breaking and makes you wanna quit for the day. I am wrapping my own car just now for the first time and I thought I could do it under a weekend but boy I was wrong. It takes a good 4-5 days to complete if you work constantly with little to no issues. Btw, I enjoyed watching this.

I really like this video. I recently wrapped my 2016 dodge charger rt orange with a black top. I ran into the edge lifting problem in a few spots too. Overall it turned out pretty good though. I definitely learned a few things from this that I will remember when I wrap my charger again.

Whatever you wrappers charge is more than well earned!! Damn! I would LOVE to have my FJ Cruiser wrapped, but I KNOW it's going to cost a fortune!! If I had the patience to do it myself, I would like to do it for the satisfaction. But.....I am NOT that patient.

A cutting table will make your productivity so much better. I used two 8 foot folding tables for years until I recently built 10 foot table.

It’s not the life for everyone lol. Very few people can grind out a whole car in a week and work regardless of how long it takes until it’s done. The wrap life is not for him 😆

Great vid for first time wrappers. I’m doing my first wrap and making the mistake Matt was making by using the squeegee to get out wrinkles and working small areas. Can’t wait to get back at it using the technique I saw here. Liked and subscribed!

Whatever you wrappers charge is more than well earned!! Damn! I would LOVE to have my FJ Cruiser wrapped, but I KNOW it's going to cost a fortune!! If I had the patience to do it myself, I would like to do it for the satisfaction. But.....I am NOT that patient.
